  • Really? So a wood elf, a half elf, and a drow = too much? Like I said, I'd be open to subraces for dwarves too. I get the difference now between Eladrin and common Faerunian elf, that's fine. But some of us aren't content to simply have "Wood elf with white or brown skin" as options for traditional elf, and drow/half elves…
  • I did not know this, sadly. I'm not a big fan of 4e, and grudgingly went with this game as an exception because 4e really does compliment an MMORPG better than 3.5. Also, *rabid hate 4e rant here*. Seriously, just break the world more. The Time of Troubles and War of the Spider Queen didn't kill enough gods and wreck…
  • Okay, I think maybe medico is getting a little too heated about this topic. Keep it in perspective here. You look goofy on a mount. Maybe it'll get changed. Maybe it won't. Maybe it's kind of a minor gripe. I mean, I don't complain that 90% of the elves in-game (at least until the coming of the drow when Drizzit clones…
  • There's an open thread for this in the correct sub-forum. You're not alone. And it's typically not an issue of having the right specs; if nerfing scale and settings does nothing to address the spontaneous FPS drops to what is otherwise 50+ FPS, it's something more than just specs.
  • At least you don't have to pull an anxious face and pretend like you don't have 20 bucks in your back pocket that you're going to blow on McDonald's. Here at least you can just click around it and continue on with your day.
  • Typically, they're differentiated by stat bonuses, but in the case of the moon elves in particular, the complexion shade is absent. Otherwise, I'd be inclined to agree. There's also the fact that your origin, for whatever purpose that serves, explicitly makes you a wood elf. If that's ever going to be impacting, I'd like…
  • Hrm, yeah. That does look pretty ridiculous. Given the size, why do you even need a pony? You could easily ride that Nightmare Steed nearby, Bullroarer Took.
  • I'd be tempted to make a dwarf just to test this, but the idea of leveling him to 20 just doesn't appeal to me. Perhaps you could post a from-behind shot for the sake of thoroughness? I believe you that it is a problem; I'm just not sure that image nails your case down enough for non-dwarf players to take note.
  • Way to go, making me laugh out loud at work. Also, to medico: while the pony looks rather small, consider the actual scale; it's slightly smaller than what appears to be a base human beside you. Shorten your legs in the character creator. That oughta help. Be all Johnny Bravo proportion'd.
  • I thought it was rheumatoid caused by the Spellplague. Good to know.
  • I ban you for incredibly small avatar. Wut.
  • It was annoying for a bit, but later I don't care. You can resize the HUD or change position if that helps. Or you know, stress ball on the computer desk. Whatever works.
  • Oh you're right, I forgot CO and STO had subscriptions. It's been awhile since I even had to worry about that.
  • Yes, kneecaps with boots on them. It worked for John Rhys-Davies; it can work for us too.
  • It might be a good idea to post this in technical, perhaps? It seems to run in less of a general suggestion and more of a game-breaking variety. I'd be pretty upset if someone did that to me.
  • Have you considered making a slimmer, less stocky dwarf?
  • Dwarves wanting scaled ponies? What next? Voting rights?! Ah, for the glory days before Dwarves and Men... Also, to be serious, I have not seen this issue but now I will take every opportunity to screenshot it and mind. For the cause, naturally.
  • TOR's crafting, while similar, took forever to make anything useful. I personally hate crafting because it involves me doing something other than playing the game. However, timesinks are timesinks.
  • I second this. STO and CO both had them, although I can understand it being somewhat immersion breaking when these twelve foot plus aliens or super heroes run around. Also, the ability to change scale on legs but not torso seems a little odd.
  • Hang on to that money. Steam will have summer sales in no time and you will cry for that money later!
  • Agreed. I want an Orb of Ridiculousness that I can enchant, which I basically forced my no-name worker to create for me. Work faster, peons! I require more minerals!
  • The option of both would be nice where it exists (Turbine currently does this with DDO and LotRO). I think myself that a sub option ought to be available with some perks because it would be easier to make a decision where I give a small portion of my paycheck for several months versus dropping several hundred down at…
  • Archer Ranger, awesome. I wanted one.

  • Curious: If I consider splurging now and getting a Hero of Neverwinter Pack (because I cannot live on ramen long enough to justify the $200 dollar pack, though it kills me not to have a spider mount), can I still redeem it as the game is technically in "open beta"? Secondly, already having purchased an extra character…
  • Protip: All companies use MMORPGs as cash cows. At least until Red Cross Online makes its beta launch. This post brought to you by Sarcasm. Sarcasm. Now in text flavor.
  • That's endemic of PvP in a lot of different settings. While it's a good idea to pool resources to try and address this sort of thing, keep in mind that especially this early, before the majority of people have built their characters up and done much of the PvE stuff, PvP won't draw as large a crowd as it may in the future.…
  • STO allows you to purchase with the 'Steam wallet', but Neverwinter does not currently support this. Check your account page under 'Charge Zen' for different paying options. You basically buy Zen through either the Perfect World Website or in that exception by the Steam Wallet, and you must transfer in some cases the Zen…
  • True, a lot of Salvatore's early stuff was kind of different than commonly accepted 3e/3.5e rulesets because of when they were made and that they were among the first FR novels created. But continuity in a gameplay setting originally developed to house a group's potentially homegrown table top game is always difficult, and…
  • And Bard's weren't useless but a sign of serious awesomeness. Well, except for Deekin. That guy never died on me, ever. Highlander Kobold.

  • Man, DnD sold out. I miss the good old days when monks and demons were legit, and alignments were simplified. Oh and gnomes were people and not monsters. Wait, I'm so confused.
