  • I tend to agree with the OP as well, at least for certain bosses. All of the Skirmishes have been mostly fun, though I'm not a huge fan of the Bridge. Dungeons should be more like that. I levelled right past the Mad Dragon because no one ever queued up for it. More Cloak Tower, please. That is hugely entertaining. I've…
  • It goes deeper than that. I want this game to be a relaxing game of simpleminded fun where no class is needed, all classes contribute, and just about any pickup group can finish just about all of the content, including the ones that drop fat lewt. That was the good old fun game that was City of Heroes at its best. I would…
  • I am enjoying this game because it seems to be bringing back at least some of the gameplay features I enjoyed in City of Heroes. All of the boss fights I've been in have been fairly fast paced, chaotic, and required no or very little explanation. You may need a healer, but you apparently do not need a dedicated tank.
  • One of the things that's most refreshing about this game is the lack of the kind of boss mechanics you typically see in other MMOs. The add waves can be overwhelming, but they're improving the abilities of classes made to deal with them, even if they're reducing your ability to kick them over a ledge. Let's not turn this…
  • I think that a quest I got around level 56 or 57 (level 59 quest) from a guard who stands outside the Zen market building is a specific half-orc quest. Not in game right now, but Gruumsh was mentioned.
  • I'll be around for a while. This game comes the closest to the steamroller playstyle of City of Heroes of anything I've tried since.
  • Heh. If I had found a way to put a beard on a male halfling, I probably would have just gone with that. But I had to get creative, and anyway, this is better.
  • I've played my GWF as an offtank who gets to DPS adds. I'm almost inclined to agree with you. DPS parses and gear scores shouldn't be necessary. In a game that's going to revolve around repeatable content like this one will, players will be able to set their own level of challenge, based on speed of clearing it once…
  • Is Foundry active or accessible on Preview, and does it save things separate from the live Foundry files?
  • Most of this was reposted from a closed thread. I am generally happy with the state of the game, think at minimum that it has gotten off to a good start, and like the existing content. One thing that makes the game especially enjoyable is the power level of player characters, which for the most part seems pretty good for…

One thing that makes the game especially enjoyable is the power level of player characters, which for the most part seems pretty good for an MMO. Even my GWF, which many seem to feel is…
  • The most recent front page announcement says that the rebalancing will make the game "more challenging". This is IMO exactly what the game does NOT need. I'd rather have a game that's fun than one that's frustrating, and frustration and "challenge" appear to be the same thing.
  • Another handy thing to know is that items equipped on the pets do not bind. The runestones do, and must be pried loose with astral diamonds. The items do not.
  • I searched the AH for a level 60 cleric icon that added hit points. I found a blue one, forget entirely what it was called, that I could buy for less than 8K. It adds something like 1300 hit points. I'm not sure that adding power or recovery (recharge! it's called recharge!) or anything else benefits pets all that much,…
  • Yes, and this makes for an entertaining minigame of looking for them and trying to highjack them.
  • You can in fact transfer ADs. It is not obvious how, and a tax is paid. If they want to stop the practice, they should anonymize the AH. If they want the AH to be a viable minigame that's a good idea as well; the identity of buyer and seller is cloaked until the transaction completes, or maybe not even then. (I'd also add…
  • Pet items aren't subject to level restrictions, either. A level 15 cleric can wield a level 60 icon. You don't have to be level 60 either.
  • There is apparently no level limit to what you can put into a companion's slot. Now both of my clerics - Hypatia the Acolyte, now level 17, and Diotima the Cleric, level 16, now share a level 60 blue icon that adds hit points. This was not cheap but affordable on the AH. It improves both of their performance immensely;…
  • I just hope they buff the underperforming classes rather than doing the Jack Emmert thing and nerfing anybody. I am heartily enjoying this game, even if my main is a GWF and apparently they struggle to find a role in the current endgame.
  • While the add waves on some solo bosses need to be toned down a bit, I'm mostly fine with things as they are. I don't want to see choreography and cat-herding. I find the absence of most of that rubbish in this game to be quite refreshing, and more than makes up for the red circles you can't escape simply by running out of…
  • 1. Skirmishes are great fun. They should be playable across a wider level range. 2. There should be more max level hard mode skirmishes as well. 3. Dungeons should be more like skirmishes, more like Cloak Tower. 4. Both fighter classes need serious buffs. 5. Hide Shirt and Hide Pants options. 6. All gear and not-my-class…
  • I frankly enjoy the chaotic freeforall that is most boss fights in this game. I would be quite disappointed to see anything require the sorts of choreography, cat-herding, multiple distractions, and stiff learning curves that make me burn out on other games. If the players start turning to real time voice chat, the fight…
  • I'm enjoying my GWF character at level 52. Because the level 16 cleric is still my usual companion, I've learned to tank minions semi-effectively, well enough to keep them off the clerics and casters, and if I do that in groups I think I'm doing something useful. Destroyer makes this a lot easier as well. And if my single…
  • I'd rather see more adventure zones; Leilon, and the ruins of Soaring Spirit, maybe; Lurkwood and Llorkh.
  • I bought her too. She definitely needs a buff to be worth $20; one would reasonably expect that she'd be more useful than the free one and she is not. Just started levelling her, but her basic abilities are in place. She also isn't even voice acted, like the free one is. The Cleric has sayings that she says when she is…
  • I already have one as a mount.

  • So here I am at level 48, still using the level 16 cleric companion. I will say that using this companion for so long has taught me a bit about how to play GWF semi-effectively; I have little choice but to try to hold aggro, and DPS like mad when I usually fail, but if the cleric is alive she is still useful because her…
  • I would be willing to buy one of these, but only if the green healer companion is guaranteed to be in it.
  • Until June 11, I think it said. How much do they cost?
