She'll return in the D20 Modern MMO. Valindra: Muahahaha After 10,000 years I'm free! It's time to conquer Toril! Knox the XXIII: Wilfred! Valindra's escaped! Assemble a team of teenagers with additude
But "It's magic" IS the explanation of a huge chunk of stuff in the actual lore Half Owl Half bears?? A wizard did it. Living treasure chests that eat you? A wizard did it. Crystal Parrots that serve as telepathic burgalar alarms? A wizard did it. as for the comment about "silliness" not belonging in D&D I just have three…
there is significant overlap when it comes to the demihuman gods, the elves have Corellon, Deep Sashelas, Loth and some of the others in both Greyhawk and Forgotten Realms, but a lot of the second string, for lack of a better word, gods are different, for example I think Eilistraee is a Forgotten Realms only elf goddess…
Yeah you can be a barbarian (group of people) without being a Barbarian (class) Just like you can be a scout without being a Scout, a monk without being a Monk, an assassin without being an Assassin and so on. they might of been thinking of Everquest where Barbarians where statistically different than "humans" I don't…
Yeah every god has their own rules some god of healing and mercy might frown on his followers shedding blood unless it was really necessary where as a god of violence and slaughter might relish such acts. Generally how strict the rules were was kinda up to the DM after all they were the one interpreting the world, so in…
There's no actual in-game marriage system but there is a wedding themed costume set you can buy for zen. You get zen either buy buying it or trading Astral Diamonds for them in the player driven exchange in game.
Warlock gear was apparently dropping way back in beta so probably a Warlock class. Druid is all but confirmed to be the next next class unless things change.
I think he meant a moon elf or a half moon elf rather than a half moon elf, half another moon elf. That said you should be able to make the half moon elf with the half elf race, just make him kinda pale and with dark hair
It always struck me as odd that Moon elves, the most populous and outgoing elf sub race would be the premium, where as the elitist xenophobicly isolationist Sun Elves are the free version.
The thing is unlike Champions and Star Trek, Neverwinter doesn't have a subscription so where the other two games get a steady trickle of money from people paying their $15 a month on top of C-Store sales Neverwinter ONLY get's money from Zen sales so the prices are kinda borked. Ironically though character slots are…
Just pointing out that they probably aren't specifically gimping the two fighter classes, it's just that they're the only classes that are the same, well class, once they come out with (for example) a "Blaster Wizard" it will most likely share paragon paths with the Control Wizard. Personally I kinda think they should of…
Anime? You mean like Red Sonja and a good chunk of the artwork in classic D&D books? Not saying the chain mail bikini is a good idea mind you, just that you can't really blame Japan for that one. Then again maybe some kind of Barbarian costume pack wouldn't be too bad to "get it out of their system". On women it could look…
I'm kinda wondering that assuming they do have a pack what they will have in place of the premium version of a new race. The Founder's/Neverwinter Pack gave the Renegade Drow and the Feywild one Moon Elves, but they haven't said anything about a new race being part of Shadowmantle, unless they do something like have a…
yeah I wouldn't be surprised if sometime in the future when they come out with The Brawny Rogue, Battle Cleric, or Blaster Wizard, (or whatever variants they choose to use.) If they share paragon paths with our current Trickster, Devoted, and Control, versions of said classes.
I don't think this is something you'd be switching in a fight anyhow, rather that you'd be able to have a PvE build and a PvP build or a Dungeon Build or whatever other situational build that you'd swap to before heading out from Protector's Enclave.
ah but Ghost Sound isn't a spell anymore, or at least not one commonly known, if you play a wizard during a quest a ghost even teaches you it as an example of the "old lost weave magic" that can't be used save for in very rare areas where remnants of Mystra's weave linger (that is to say the older editions' magic systems).…
wait....the figures.... super heroes and sci-fi characters on the Neverwinter guy's desk... I GOT IT! Clearly Module 2 will see Neverwinter, Star Trek Online, and Champions Online are all being merged into one giant Super MMO! :D Yes I can see it now... starting in Neverwinter we'll eventually find a fleet of lost…
I gotta say someone complaining about Drow and Sun Elves being free and devaluing the premium Drow Renegade and Moon Elves is a nice change of pace from the people that were complaining about the premium race variants, chanting "pay to win, pay to win" over the mostly cosmetic differences when the packs were first…
actually it looks like the mods have combined a few of the "new class when?" topics into this one, perhaps to make this the "semi-official class speculation thread" or something
for there to be open word PvP, aside from all the technological mumbo jumbo of course, you'd need to have some kinda "bad guy" faction or something to justify it, as of now open world pvp would consist of heroes trying to save Neverwinter by killing...um other heroes trying to save Neverwinter, kinda self defeating, though…
In Champions Online the VIP Room for Club Caprice (basically that game's equivalent to the Moonstone Mask) is full of conveniences, there's a room with a Mailbox, Auction House Access, Nemesis Database Access(of course, Stores that sell stronger healing items than you can normally buy, and once per day you can refill your…
The thing I wonder is will every class have unique equipment? Now it's not to bad with everyone using different but later will we have separate Long swords and plate armor for guardian fighters and Paladins or Warlords or separate great swords/axes for Great Weapon fighters and Barbarians, or to be more relevant will the…
Regardless of how popular 4e is or not, the game barely follows the PnP RPG rules outside of some names and and very basic concept anyhow so I'd hesitate to really call it a "4e game" to begin with.
you say that like being cool isn't reason enough. but anyhow, maybe if the "flying" was just running but with the look of the mount flying close to the ground, like a couple of feet to a yard in the air that would work and not require all the mess of actual "flying" mounts
In my opinion the game's not bad, It's fun for some mindless hack and slash, but really for the most part you should just ignore a big chunk of the forums, it's full of people who hate only one thing more than the game, other people enjoying the game.
