  • Back stories. I'm using the back story I wrote for them as the basis of my foundry campaign. Nearly all my in-game time is either spent killing things to get over writer's block or working on my foundry stuff. Been trying to get my character up to snuff for this new mod so I can play other people's foundries again though.
  • Never mind, of course I figured out how to escape about two seconds after I posted this. -.-' Sorry about wasting anyone who reads this time. Not entirely sure HOW I escaped, but after I accidentally exited NW this time then relogged I had been transported to Protector's Enclave. Kind of sad though. I really liked that…
  • Apparently the livestream has "Special access" for the foundry. Guessing it'll be a lot longer before they give it back to the rest of us. It'd be nice if they'd at least give us an estimated timeline of when we'd get it back.
  • Sometimes it does that when you start with your characters then switch to foundry (from what I've noticed anyways). Try logging into one of your characters then going back to the character screen again or closing NW down and reopening it. That usually fixes it for me.
  • To join Scribe's Enclave you have to apply as a Recruit, you become a full fledged member once you gain 3 sponsor points - by reviewing people's quests, knowing them from other facets of the community, etc. Here's the link to the recruit's forum and Kolde's instructions for joining. You'll have to have (or make) a guild…
  • I've given up guessing what it is. I went through them in 2D editor when I logged on today, everything read as being set at the right coordinate, no blanks no zeros for y-. Switched to 3D and the messed up ones were still at zed not 297. I think it might just be the foundry trying to crush my optimistic opinion that I can…
  • What view mode do you have your game set to? If I use windowed or fullscreen views this cursor/offset happens to me too in 2D editor. If you're not in windowed maximumized try switching to that.
  • Thanks Eldarth. I'll see if redoing all of the messed up ones using 3D editor will fix the falling platforms of doom. It was my first time entering a lot of this kind of data using 2D since I usually prefer to build by eye but I wanted everything to look straight and I can't do that with a ruler so I broke out mathematics…
  • We also got the Tuern maps and Lair of Lostmauth map added to the outdoor map section. (That or I'm blind and missed those last update, it's entirely possible.) Haven't looked at them to see how they look though.
  • Well I couldn't find it doing a manual scroll through or listed under Ashmadai or Thayan encounters. The only one I could find was the one with the little minions. I'll double check though once I reload my foundry.
  • Also you might try using an invisible clicky made contactable/inspect object for the conversation instead, setting it where the cyclops is, I don't think those zoom in but you lose the ability to make the cyclops dynamic without things getting tricky and if they player comes in at the wrong angle it could mess it up too…
  • I'm not sure about the not zooming in but if you set the animation for the cyclops as examine, kneeling (or gambling, kneeling 1/2 but those look weird) it will bring their face into the camera shot. Quick note: I tested this with Cyclops Storm Shaman NPC, you'd have to double check if you were using the Hewer.
  • I'd like more options with the adventurers costumes too. I use a lot of Ranger characters and I'd like to actually be able to equip them as such, you know? Having access to some of the fashion costumes would be nice too. It gets tiring putting your commoners in the same outfits over and over again. But being able to…
  • However your complaint was having 5 NPC's not ugly dialogue so I explained what I was talking about since your response didn't indicate that you were aware that there was a "select skill" option in the dialogue, sorry I explained my point further. Edit: I don't actually find the multiple dialogue choices to be ugly...and I…
  • -blink- Um....you don't have to create the same NPC five times, you just create one NPC with a basic greeting then in the five responses select "Skill required" on the responses and make sure you get the right skill correlated to the class. Each response spawns will lead to a separate path for specific classes and you can…
  • Well you can work around it using the "Skill required" option since each class has a unique skill and from what I can tell skill kits don't affect the dialogue options. Just you'd have to either do the same response repeatedly selecting different skill requirements for each one or have slightly different dialogue leading…
  • About a week after I posted this I worked out how I could do a part of the story that I'd cut out since I couldn't figure out how to do it using the Foundry tools. So it's currently being reworked and revised, and is no longer available to play. (Accidentally deleted the original version the other day so only the…
  • -blushes- Thanks guys. ^^' Well maybe one day it'll be fixed and you can come back back and fight dragons instead. :)
  • It looks like you accidentally moved the template window over, see if you can drag it back to a better position. Another thought: The alignment will sometimes go funky if I'm working in any window size besides "windowed maximized" too, have you tried switching your window sizes about to see if that helps? /:
  • None taken. I do it because my brother saw that I never shared any of my work (art, writing, etc.) and was following my example. Only he wouldn't take any pride in what he accomplished and did it not out of a lack of desire but because he thought it wasn't good enough. So I started putting my work out there to be an…
  • Yeah, we differ there and nothing wrong with that, it's that silly little optimist that resides in my head going "rah-rah-rah" no matter how dumb my beliefs (in this case my definition) sound rationally. I've got a pretty unfounded opinion but I'd rather keep it then change to a more rational view. Though one of the things…
  • The exploit quests are against the rules but there's no policing being done. People shouldn't be allowed to misbehave without consequences. My dislike of exploit quests has nothing to do with my opinion as a writer or a player but simply where I stand on what's right. They agreed to follow the rules when they signed up but…
  • Yeah....I've never written with the purpose to be sharing my creation. I don't know who you're talking to but most art and writing hobbyists I know, it's like pulling teeth to get them to share anything. Bottom line plenty of us write for the sake of the story, who cares if no one reads/watches/plays it? Sure, it'd be nice…
  • Um....I know this probably sounds kind of dumb but can someone please explain the actual mechanics of rping in NW? I read both guides and now feel more confused. I've been an rper for 10 years now but I've only ever done text-based rps (post-by-post forum style, I started on neopets' neoboards) and those are obviously not…
  • 1. No idea, it'll kind of depend on your play style too. 2. Um...I think there's one on the zen market, not entirely sure though. 3. Look for ones that sound enjoyable to you - go check out the Foundry Quest Database page, there's quite a few Foundry authors (myself included) who put long hours and buckets of tears into…
  • I'm honestly not sure if they were there or not - I know they weren't after the 1st time, I think what happened is that after I got overtaken (I'm really bad about aggro and wasn't using my normal healing companion so I got swarmed the first round and killed) I think what happened was that whilst I was respawning the Green…
  • Hey, first off. Really well done. :) I liked the quest a lot. It was nice, with very few errors and what not in it. Over all made for a very good adventure. Um....reading all the notes I've made about what would need to be fixed, I think Melinden actually covered most of them.... I will second one though: being called…
  • Can't sleep tonight so I figured I'd run your quests because memorizing pottery typology is not fun and not something I want to do at 1 in the morning. So here are my reviews: Part 2: I rated it 5 stars in game, really enjoyed it. Nice and relaxing quest with plenty of killing. Well balanced. Dialogue was fantastic as…
  • Wait....there's a way to report those quests? I guess I'll be searching for that method so I can do it rather than just rolling my eyes everytime I see the exploit quests. I think one of the first steps to getting these combated is letting people who aren't on the forums know that they're against the rules and should be…
  • The combat is quite difficult for certain classes, so I can see how a DC would have trouble with it. I played lvl 60 HR, I'm used to having to respawn at least 3-4 times on missions so I figure something's wrong if I've not died within the first 5 minutes. Though honestly the most difficult part for me was the end house…
