Reign of the Shadow Kings
Hey everyone! I'm working on a 6 part campaign and have recently released part one for review. I'll be updating this thread consistently Please help me by reviewing! I would very much appreciate it! The campaign code is NWS-DJJZHQZ83. Please note this is not meant to be an easy campaign at all, but it is not so difficult that it loses it's fun! I wanted to make sure the desperate feeling was there throughout the campaign for most PCs. My maps lack a little, I'll personally admit this, but I do hope my story, lore, and characters can make up for it
Thanks!
The Discovery - RotSK 1 (RELEASED - NW-DRNYM9OHU): You are hired by Golden Eagle Incorporated, an adventuring company founded and led by Bravis the Great and including a good friend of yours known as Elric the Heart, to assist in the reclamation of a wealthy noble's stolen heirloom and the destruction of the ultra-violent and feared Red Hood Bandits. You all believe it will be a fairly easy job, but you unknowingly just were drawn into what could very much be the greatest war that the lands have ever known. Now you will be faced with a myriad of questions and an even greater amount of foes. Who can be trusted? Who is truly in the right? But most importantly, can you survive? Run time: 20-30 minutes!
Fugitives - RotSK II (RELEASED - NW-DGF47OI37): After working with an old friend and the Golden Eagle Incorporated adventuring company you find yourself on the run from a vast and powerful shadow organization you know nothing about. You have all fled into the sewers, but you know it won't be safe for long. You can run all you want, but you all know that soon, very soon, you'll have to turn and fight. It looks grim..... but maybe you have allies somewhere... Run time: 45 Minutes
Revenge and Betrayal - RotSK III (Released): After joining the Society of the Green Claw you are drawn into a plan to take revenge on an old friend. But first, you mus track him down. The Shadow Kings are moving, and moving fast. Something called the Great Awakening is almost at hand, and though you've no idea what it is, you know you must stop it.
Run time: 30 minutes
Phoenix - RotSK IV (In production):
The Dead Lotus Society - RotSK V (planned production)
The Great Awakening - RotSK VI (planned production)

So here are my reviews:
Part 2: I rated it 5 stars in game, really enjoyed it. Nice and relaxing quest with plenty of killing. Well balanced.
Dialogue was fantastic as always with plenty of snark to make me grin whilst I play.
Things I noted:
-When chatting with the 3 by the fire at the beginning if you speak with Alvin or Cedric(?) (the rogue, I can't remember his name for certain) you end up in the fire for your camera view.
-The sewer Rendezvous point after the camp attack is kind of small so you have to be coming from the right angle to hit it (I came at the group from the water and was confused so it took some circling to trigger it)
-Not sure if it's on purpose or not but it's very easy to avoid non-quest essential combat whilst you're going through the outside maps, especially since you can use a mount on those maps. (This continues over to the 1st map on the 3rd quest.)
Part 3:
Playing lvl 60 HR I couldn't complete this quest. And I did try. I got to "Kill the Shadow King Attackers (2/6)" and then because of how many 3-bar attackers were put together I couldn't put them down. I did try. I think I died 7-8 times trying to complete that before I gave up since usually I'll try and kill one at a time, respawn and repeat (cus I'm stubborn that way) but here I couldn't manage to even put one down at a time before I was killed, I'd get maybe 1-2 shots plus my set up shots in. Someone who is better at combat or playing a melee based character might have better luck with this.
-One thing I noticed with what I DID complete is that Layton (the mage) doesn't follow on patrols. I got the feeling that he was supposed to.
I will be keeping an eye out for any updates, because I would like to complete the quest - I've really enjoyed the other two.
Spoiler Notice!!:
My favorite part of these has to be off-duty Knox. And, the cheese thing really was quite amusing.
Also, yes the encounters were optional, players who want to kill more and try for more drops are welcome to it!
So it was probably just a case of my ineptitude when it comes to gaming combined with a dose of bad luck: I'll be trying it again soon since I've enjoyed your other quests I want to find out what happens.
