Players are just getting better. The other classes have tools to deal with control, free respec gave a bunch of people the opportunity to switch to those set-ups.
The same duelist flurry/lurker's executioner build you've been using should work for max DPS. Additionally power is a lot more effective on us now. Power, Armor Penetration and Recovery may be our key stats in PvP. PvE you still want between 40 & 50% crit, about 22% armor pen and 2k to 3k recovery. Finally stack power as…
The only thing that legitimately bugs me about GWF other than it being generally outclassed is the way determination is generated. I can live with being outclassed but this counter-intuitive determination generation has always rubbed me wrong.
what is this, I don't even. Look here. GWF is a beast when you animation cancel WMS but what Spacejew is saying is that you get more bang for your buck out of CW. Effort = Reward Right now the amount of Effort you put in for CW is low and the amount of reward you get is high. To get a good reward with GWF one must put in…
TR only takes a beating if you don't know what you're doing. In normal mmos I could say "by the time you cap you should have a grasp of your limits" but I'd be wrong considering how quickly you can cap in this game.
I have a level 60 GWF, fyi. =| t2 sucks. t1 is fine. PvP is nothing but cheese but that's how PvP in PvE centric games generally go. Aggro/Threat is broken. DPS GFs do more DPS than DPS GWF once you discount AoE, which is hard to maintain with these pug CWs throwing everything everywhere, and dedicated animation canceling…
Game needs to separate PvP changes from PvE changes because a lot of these changes seem really juicy and then I think of the sick PvP implications. I know, I know. This is not a PvP game but did rogues not just get nerfed over performance in PvP?
I'm actually having a ball on my shield-less GF. On the topic of GWF, unstoppable-centric gameplay with ways to augment the way one utilizes unstoppable would be really nice, not unlike the way TR is focused on stealth. First, of course, I think general issues with dungeons (throwing adds off the stage) and threat should…
Every class can cancel their at-will animations with their Shift trait. The GWF shift trait just happens to be the best suited to increase DPS. Coincidence? Did you know rogue can bunny hop inbetween at-wills? As a matter of fact if at-wills and the like couldn't be canceled by shift key traits don't you think the game…
The thing is game designers will work towards one thing and emergent gameplay from the playerbase throws all of that out of the window and says "**** your design, it sucks. The class plays better this way so we're gonna play the class this way". Also, let's be honest. This isn't closed beta. That description is dated and…
It's not really an exploit. You can cancel moves with your dash, kind of like how rogue cancel moves with their dodge roll but our ability to cancel actually improves our DPS. You can run around and yell "LALALALA, EXPLOIT, EXPLOIT" all you want but it's a part of the class and working as intended from my PoV.…
GWF is not supposed to do as much damage as TR. If you think they should do similar damage then you need to re-evaluate your perception of what a GWF is and what a GWF does. TR is meant to have the highest single target damage in this game, nothing else really compares. GWF damage is working as intended. The only thing…
as a Destroyer that intended on going initiator I will say I don't see enough GWFs use WMS recovery frames animation cancelling. It is a massive amount of DPS that people are just willingly giving up on.
