  • I began playing this game in 2014. I am a guild leader, and over the years I have played through the ups and downs. I understand this forum does not get the traffic it used to and that maybe Cryptic believes what happens here does not matter for that reason, but I also know there is a community manager who reads this stuff…
  • Bounties = pass. Diamonds = pass. VoS chests = pass. The RNG is beyond awful on all of these and not worth the time investment nor the negative reinforcement each time one you complete / open one. When Avernus was released, I spent nearly 5 months straight immersed in that content, and only then did it become so tedious…
  • I have no problems with the rings being BtA so long as the drop rate is reasonable. As it is, I ran VoS about 3 times, laughed at the situation, and said "no thank you, my time is more valuable than this." I am comforted in that Cryptic has a track record of dethroning otherwise best in slot items in grand fashion (think…
  • 50K Warlock. Difficulty is about the same as before due to the tactics used to beat it. The combat advantage changes are what will kill you, so I don't recommend trying to take the mobs head on like some people have done in videos on Youtube. Here is what I did to sail through it smoothly. 1) Make sure you are faster than…
  • Adding to the challenges of HFR, it currently is the best source (by far) for building stacks of soul investiture, but in the new VoS boss fights, it can be very hard to land it on the fast moving bosses since it has about a 3 second animation lag. The only way to land it is by predicting the bosses movement, which due to…
  • Truly, New Sharandar is a miserable experience, at best. Although, as others have pointed out, it is pretty!
  • This is one of the most bizarre threads I've ever read of armchair economics and referencing decades old sources and case studies to support a rapidly evolving field of inquiry in finance. An NWO forum is probably one of the last places I would go to learn of the theoretical complexities and overlaps between closed systems…
  • Visit the current The Neverwinter Nine thread at https://www.arcgames.com/en/forums/neverwinter/#/discussion/1260633/the-neverwinter-nine-resort-book-your-stay-today. *mods - please close this thread.
  • Did you create a healing soulweaver warlock? There is a well known bug where lifespark disables our mounts when it auto heals. It doesn't knock us down, but it's the equivalent of dismounting. It is very annoying and we have been dealing with it for at least 2-3 months.
  • I haven't tested Lycosa's Arms yet, but I will give that a test drive. Thanks for the tip! Also, I mis-wrote above. I don't use Soul Siphon on my soulweaver, I use Soul Pact. Easy to get those two names confused. 😁
  • A lot has changed since late January, so I'll add a few more comments to this thread. My stats are pretty comparable to the OP. The HoT of Revitalize and Life Spark abilities are working pretty well, but as a 50k lock, I'm not sure my experience is on par with say, a 30k lock. I think lower level locks are struggling to…
  • Many thanks. It is a minor inconvenience for a select number of players who use social search, but it's good to have these tools available and WAI.
  • Just a couple clarifications. 1) Warlocks can use all 5 slots for outgoing heal comps (I sure do)! Not sure about pallys. 2) The devs are already addressing this. I believe the new arms in Sharandar feature outgoing healing, and another piece of gear features forte. Because forte contributes to divinity/weave regeneration,…
  • I'm a guild leader of a lvl20. We are moving our last structure to lvl10, then we are done, done, done with building. We are both an active social guild, and people arrive initially for the boons and benefits. These are symbiotic and not mutually exclusive. Guilds need things to attract new members, but pitching social…
  • It shouldn't matter how many ads he pulled since (to the best of my knowledge) CA isn't a multiplier based on the number of ads that have CA on the player. That wouldn't cause the 14k hit. What would be helpful to know is whether this is WAI or not. We sometimes take for granted that we know all the math going on behind…
  • There are a couple interesting points that are implicitly embedded in several comments here, and the mods really should consider passing them on as agenda items in the next decision-makers meeting. First, some here have indicated that the best way to fix problems in the game are to not create them in the first place. While…
  • Thanks for the WoW comparison, I appreciate that. I never played WoW. If you wouldn't mind, could you lay out how you think WoW's scaling works? I welcome opinions and impressions if that's all you have. I find those helpful. P.S. I'll never forget my first RPG on PC. Gold box Curse of the Azure Bonds. I even read the…
  • Like the OP, there are seemingly countless people who have hit this forum, Twitter, their discord servers, and other places, expressing concern about a variety of perceived issues in the game, and all revolve around the combat change. I take these folks at their word, because unless you live in a world where you believe…
  • A couple weeks back I made a comment that this game is breaking a cardinal rule of RPGs. Simply put, if I get a better weapon, I am stronger. If I put my armor on, I survive better. If I take my armor off, I die more often. None of this is true anymore, and I can't think of any other instances where this is true in RPG…
  • I appreciate the story from @reg1981. We need these stories - they're helpful. The most important insight for me is the continuation of disrobing to win (D2W!), noting the removal of enchants. There are many seemingly nonsensical things in rpg gaming that we have come to accept. For instance, the fact that an advanced…
  • I sympathize with the OP. I too had plenty of AD reserves on hand this go around, such that I have made tens of millions of AD in the past week, and have easily fully updated my main. But I am sanguine about this. This is the biggest, heaping steamer Cryptic has dropped since Mod 6 and may prove more damaging if not…
  • VE is situationally very good. It hits hard and has the benefit of being the only lock heal that doesn't require targeting of any kind (though it does require an enemy target). The problem of course is that it is expensive, meaning it works best as an emergency switch if a daily isn't available, but must be used sparingly.…
  • Agree with the comments here. I'm a 50k lock, and prior to the combat change, I could heal any content effectively with a group of dps that didn't know what they were doing. There were things I could do to compensate for poor play and help the team to the finish line. DCs can still do this now, but I no longer can in some…
  • Great recommendation. +1.
  • Simple regex expression, problem solved on the dev side. Excellent suggestion by the OP. Well worth inclusion in an upcoming patch.
  • Respectfully, I disagree with the OP. Uber strong Vansi is awesome, and in fact, we should have more thoughtful implementations like this in Neverwinter. The devs shouldn't change a thing. I suspect Vansi's steroidal nature is at least is part due to the many months (years?) of players like the OP (and me) going nuclear in…
  • OP - you make some good points, but the sensational amounts of rage and preemptive dismissal of others opinions is not constructive. In the class forums I mentioned how troubled I am by the lack of an Essence Defiler replacement. After a couple days of testing, I'm still troubled. Eldritch Blast is a poor fit for…
  • I am experiencing the same problem with tab marking as Soulweaver. I need to tap tab 10-20 times it seems before I can mark a tank in demo or codg. This has been the case even when an enemy is not standing in line of sight. The targeting functionality doesn't seem to be working effectively.
  • I'm trying to keep my reactions measured and give the dynamics time to play out, but there is one thing that is really troubling me with the soulweaver powers, and that is the absence of a synergistic at-will that actually allows us to do some damage. As a soulweaver healer, I want to heal. I also want to a have something…
