Btw, just so you know that I'm not biased, or on either side of this issue, I've never ever opened lockboxes in my 3 years here, and never once bought keys because I don't support RNG systems.

I too was hoping for a legendary mount retrofit dag, unfortunately its not going to happen They should have thought about at least a mount speed increase for legendary mounts before they even released the first one. It was widely talked about. Hopefully they will make some that don't look like a chicken on steroids.

I absolutely hate the kind of post where someone says "it's a free to play game!" like that is supposed to mean something. That had nothing to do with my post.
I also hate the kinds of post where people say "if you don't like whatever stupid move having been made then, just uninstall the game!" That added nothing to my post and I wasn't looking for a suggestion.
I also don't see much value in a statement from someone who has never opened a lockbox and have achieved the success of getting that super rare legendary pet just to have a newer better one come out later.
The new legendary and epic mount are both way better then the ones that came before it. I don't understand how anyone in the right mind would release new stuff that is that much better then the old stuff.

yes but if you see the current attack, the raptor kinda runs in, then attacks, and runs off. It just needs to be implemented (for all mounts) is all. Time consuming stuff.

yeah, something in between 10k-20k zen would be realistic. expensive, but considering that it was initially given on a lockbox, i think it would be a fair price..
lol 100-200$ for a game mount. don't these people have expenses or anything else going in their lifes.

Tenser's Floating Disk makes you do a loop on it when you hit space. I don't see how that can kill anything, lol. Honestly, it's very clear that so many people already hate that they did that. They better fix it otherwise a lot of paying players are gonna leave. I know grinding for ad for keys is rough don't get me wrong, but when a person spends real money and buys a $40 mount, then a box is released with a mount that has 140% speed and other features that no other mount has, it's insulting. I'm with the person who said to add the book to the zen market for between 1500-2000 Zen. Did they really think that people would be stupid enough to start spending on keys just for that mount. It's more than a fast mount people want. I have the mounts I have because I like how they look. I shouldn't be forced to buy 800 keys until finally i get a mount that I dislike the look of, solely because of it's features. Not to mention, it screws over non paying players. The chances of them getting it are so incredibly small because even if they wanted to buy a mount, now it's a slap in the face. Oh well if you paid us a couple hundred then you can have balance...IF you're lucky. Realistically, you won't get a mount like that without spending a large amount of money. Drop chance is slim.
100% agree. Its the SAME feeling I got when I bought that dragon born pack for what $80? Then like 1 month later they release JUST the race on the zen store for way less....
Everysingle time they do this type of thing, it screws over the guys that bought it. Maybe you will sucker a few into dropping $100 on keys to try and get the mount, but itll only happen once before they feel screwed over.
I feel like the DEVs or the people making these decisions are forgetting one MASSIVE concept here:
The key to a successful F2P game is you make players pay for COSMETICS not for POWER.
This mount is a "pay for power" play. The artifact equipment was a "pay for power" play.
But what do MOST players LOVE spending $ on? COSMETICS!!!!!!!!
In all honesty if you want players PAYING more, make Transmutes instead of 50k AD, they cost 100 zen or 50 zen or w.e
THESE are the things players will pay ALL DAY LONG for.
I should be able to COSMETICALLY dye my mount if I want. Why not? Make it cost zen and people will pay MORE for that than keys.
I should be able to transmute a weapon enchant, why not? Id pay for that!
I should be able to cosmetically change ANYTHING for $. Should it offer a "combat advantage"? NO! Then it becomes "Pay for power" which you wont sustain a player base on that.
The BIGGEST grief I see with this mount is the +4000 movement. This is a BIG movement buff that really is a massive advantage. +400? Not so much.... but 10%?!
If you want players to pay, they should be able to upgrade existing stuff. Change existing stuff. Heck if I am a guardian fighter, I should be allowed to Xmute my armor into robes! If I pay for it right?
Then you can offer EXCLUSIVE TRANSMUTES - people will FLOCK to these and pay a TON for them!
You could make a "special" weapon Xmute. Armor xmute etc....
Dye packs are too limiting. Players do buy them, but more often then not they buy from the AH cause the zen store doesnt have all the fun ones that drop in game.
Want to increase sales? Make all the seasonal items purchasable via zen store.

Yeah, seriously. Take a look at the high level weapons in this game. They're hideous. If this mount thing is a money grab then take a look at would actually needs work and make a profit on that. There are tons of colors that we don't have, and like you said transmutes. Make incredible armor's and weapons that are transmute only and post them up. People will love it. This mount thing is a horrible idea. At least by itself. boost up the current ones. Honestly, all the epic + mounts should be 140%. Don't screw people over.

Well i am with everyone on this one, i mean i lose my time explaining guildmates and other fellow players how this game is not pay to win. But today with a single update this has changed, now if you want to win gauntlgrim you have to pay +/- 1000 US$$ just to be abble to get at the first objective in same time as your competition... ROFL
I wish this is fixed before a chunk of the community leaves...
Like many above said: Provide token/book/ something to upgrade present mounts to proper level, no matter via Wondrous bazaar, ZEN market/ 1 mount only/ or Mount upgrade pack/ account wide/ for reasonable price.
But I'm sure you will, aren't you?
Edit: This mount looks like Mutant Christmas turkey. Even I have a chance, will not buy it, or gamble for it.

fact is, people will always want something new. there will always be suckers. it's a human tendency. it's psychology, and it's what sellers try to take advantage of. when that craving starts to die, then they will eventually lower the prices (of course to the dismay of those who bought it originally for higher amounts). it's a marketing ploy, and cryptic is doing a great job on that regard..
It's more fun in the Philippines >:)

#1 Make all mount upgrade-able to legendary quality by mount traing book/token etc, cost about 2000 zen
#2 reduce epic/legendary unmount movement speed increase from 4000 to 1200, and make rare (80% speed)mount to 800, uncommon (50%) mount to 600, common (50%) mount to 400
#3 reduce legendary mount attack damage by 30% and increase cooldown to 3 minutes.
extra option: make a real Mount battle for future mod, this battle features no gears/boons/feats/companions, this all about mounts, different mounts gives different abilities and passives, think about it, like pokemons. IMO, this is the right decision for making players buy mounts.
I don't get this logic. X Business has X offer and then has a better Z Offer, therefore I'm angry because I got X instead of Y. Doesn't this happen like all the time with all business? Would I be angry because I got some jeans in sale one week before they had other better jeans on sale? I don't think so.
No one forces us to get anything. And I don't ever plan on spending so much for a single item, specially considering cryptic's history of changing items a few weeks/months after everyone and their mom bought it.
Those pair of jeans don't take ~$5000 to unlock or give you any advantage over any other pair of jeans. Gating power through paywalls, let alone insanely high paywalls is just not on. Not only that but it's virtual non existing content that you don't own and not even an original model which you'd kind of expect for something so rare. It's a cheap way of making money.

How about you introduce some reasonable means to upgrade mounts to 140% and a token that grants a random stat bonus that can be re-rolled (that's a good AD sink, right there), all with in game currency? That's if we're still pretending that this game is somehow fair to all players, and hasn't gone completely pay to win.

I'm very interested in the 140% speed mount, however the waves of lag that we often experience these days would probably not make it all that worth while an investment.
First off, I find in horrible that Cryptic is promoting gambling for the best mount as gambling addiction is literally the same thing as a heroine addiction. My best friends mom blew 200,000 dollars in 1 month gambling at a slummy casino and forcing gamers that would otherwise never embrace the gambling culture to gamble for the best mount in the game is totally irresponsible and reprehensible, and I for one will NEVER participate in something like this...
