Game needs:
1) meaningful PVE rewards that have ways to earn you AD for running them.
2) real PvP matchmaking (based on total item level).
3) less character bound items, more account bound items (I used to play 3 characters during and pre mod1 and up to mod 3, now I can only afford to play 1...)
4) better difficulty scaling for PVE. I'd love to see a DEV team complete the current T2s.

Mob difficulty should be based on item level score. Not level. I've been saying that from the start.

Agree with all, and point 4 is what i am hoping to see in a twitch stream, like Akro used to make them.
Wonder why there isn't a stream now? Cause without god mode, even a Dev couldn't do it and the reaction from players wouldn't be so welcoming as it was back then, i would bet on it.

Pandaman has said they're working on scaling it down some.
There is some good, well stated feedback on this thread. I'll add this:
I used to be a dedicated WoW player, and before that a City of Heroes player. City of Heroes had issues with end game, and in trying to correct it they did a big release which brought it down into a death spiral, which was too bad, I liked it and for the time it's graphics were good. The reason I stopped playing WoW was that the ONLY way to get good gear was to do instances, and to do any of the good instances required that you be a member of a good guild. Which all equated to essentially a part time job where you MUST schedule times for runs. Way way too much commitment for me. I like most everyone else was psyched to see Mod 6 and leveled a pally up to 70 and a couple other of my 20K+ GS toons. Then I tried to figure out what to do next. And lo and behold, the only way to get good gear is to grind instances, and you better have a good team, the PUG fail and fail. The reason I really have liked playing NVW and the reason I have played it so much and recommended it to friends was that it was "lite" if you will, It was possible to do some fun end game stuff more casaully - and it was very possible to solo a lot of stuff (and progressively easier if you just stuck with it).
So, Mod 6 feels like we're taken a 90 degree turn towards a WoW-like end game, and that I do not like, so that's my reason for giving it a great big thumbs down. Good news though is Sword Coast Adventures wasn't broken I still play that while I await the next move by the content managers there....

Pandaman said "They're looking into" whether they might've overdone it.
Where I live, when an official promises to "look into" some problem, with like 90% probability that means that he pulls the folder from the shelf or registry, opens the lid and the index card, gives the first page a passing glance, closes and repositions the folder and goes to sleep with a clean conscience.
I do hope the dev team has a different work ethics... :^)
you wont like it if they all quit and shut it down.
It will not be like what we're experiencing.
We're beta testing for them.
By the time it's time it is ported on to Xbrick they'll have enough feedback from the PC platform to somewhat making appealing to the stingy Xbrick community who is used to relatively bug free gaming.

A lot of the people who voted they love it were doing so on good faith that it would improve fairly quickly, bugs would be fixed so on. Time goes on, nothing noticeable is fixed and in fact subsequent "fixes" actually make things worse and those same people have run out of patience and now hate it. While those who have hated it originally have now bottomed out and are facing the reality that they wasted so much time and money here. The characters you have invested time and money in are now worthless unless you put more time and money into them to do the same things which you had already earned the privilege to do previously, you can no longer do the same areas you had once enjoyed doing, friends you have made have left the game....I mean really, there is a point where people face that it is the end of their time here. The game has ruined its self and it is time to move on.
So ya, people hate it with a passion. The more they loved it before, the more committed they were to their characters, to the game its self, is how much they hate it now.
Dark dark days and what we get as a silver lining or light at the end of the tunnel is that the bound status of bags has changed, and a bunch of talk. "Oh hey we know you hate our game now and feel utterly betrayed by our actions as a company, but hey, a playable game didn't make it into this weeks patch. But we are working on it! Maybe it will make it into next weeks patch! Who knows lol."
I don't think I would be holding my breath waiting for the fix.Been over a month now which gave them 4 patches to fix or change this stuff. And a lot of the things that are wrong could of been fixed by now if they had really wanted to bother. I have not logged in ,in about 2 weeks now but keep a active eye on the forums to see what they are doing. So far I have seen nothing to say "oh we really do care about the players " and will have a fix to this garbage shortly.
So if anyone was hoping they would fix it guess your hoping up the wrong game. This mess is here to stay ,as they cannot pull it back now for it would show the gaming community a loss of face. Even thou their reputation right now is going lower by the day.
So if any one really is reading these posts other than the "delete happy mods" most players would be happier if you would bring us a game tha'ts both fun and meaningful to play .

Exactly. All we've received are vague promises and the supposed increased communication has been one note from the new lead dev that was full of honeyed words and platitudes and not much else, and apparently one or two proactive community managers that have no impact on the game itself and don't even work for the same subsidiary (a nice gesture, but nothing more than that, as there's no evidence that the feedback they convey to the Devs, if any, is actually making an impact).
Trash mobs still one shot characters in full Burning or Raid gear. Lag and rubber banding still plague a great many zones (half the time I'm in Kessel's Retreat, it's a coin flip on whether or not I'm playing an MMO or a pinball game), and nothing has been done to address the ludicrous cost and expense, either in time or in real world money, of upgrading to Mythic or its like, which is all around necessary in order to survive in the zones that we once used to be able to enjoy playing through either casually or with friends. Player trust has been all but shattered with this module, and there doesn't seem to be much being done to address that problem.
In sum: the problems persist, and words are cheap. Or to paraphrase Minsc himself "Bold words, Devs. Now show me deeds!"
Along with not being able to come even CLOSE to what I was able to do before, (solo the Sharandar and Dread ring lairs), I don't see a new gear progression path. The purples I had were useless. Completing all the new zone quests would just barely get me to 1600 IL, which is nowhere near adequate for the "1600" dungeons. So how is one supposed to get adequate gear to progress? I have no idea how people that hadn't already finished the Sharandar and Dread campaigns could even start on the new quest zones. A new 60 character has no way to work thru either campaign or the new zones. If the plan was to farm dragons in WOD for gear, that is not gonna happen either.
Dunno about Sharandar, but Dread Ring stuff, at least Dread Spire I found fairly comfortably soloable (just takes longer). And, not like my SW got all that great kit. (ilvl 1608 atm, I did it with 1540ish). You just have to do it carefully, and find a strategy - for example , I know that I need to use the first few seconds of a mob fight to stack up at least one stack of soul sparks, and only then throw in WS+DT, to make me survivable (the big thing are servitors as they have a nasty ranged attack).
Same goes for dailies, in fact some of it's been downright fun, i.e. sneaking around the rib cage looking for crates of explosives, mission impossible style , clearing out weaker mobs before moving on to key stronger ones. But then, eh. I was a fan of doing dungeons in mod 5 with one-two other people, which felt similar.
You should have put a 4th option; complete apathy, cause that's what I feel.
There are bits and pieces that I like, but those could've been introduced as a regular update, not with a new module. I don't like or dislike M6, I just don't give rat's furry behind about it. However, I hate what this game has turned into, and I will not support it anymore.
People that keep saying it's a free MMO, so it's ok not to hold them to a higher standard need to shut the frick up, btw.
/seconded
Now the game for me is hoarding funds and buying up resources for guild housing. Why? So my guild mates can have the nicest guild house available. I don't even have any enchants anymore, and I refuse to level up to 70. Economics is the only interesting part about this game since they took away any reason for doing dungeons. And now that's WORSE. I've said it once and I'll say it again, **** all of the dragons. Put the DUNGEONS back into D&D.
Yeah, I share that pain. It seems that you need to dungeon for the equipment but you need the equipment before you can dungeon. And I don't want to dungeon in any case. I just want to be able to survive in IWD and WoD. Right now I'm stuck in Lvl 61 Eternal gear.
A problem that I have seen is there is no interim level 70 quest gear. Blue level gear that can make you slightly more survivable while you try to grind for the tiers.
M6 its unplayable because of difficulty reasons (the mobs/bosses damage) and because tanks cant tank.
Basically, game has no tanking class atm.
Basically, teams are trying to 4man epic dungeons/encounters without any tank (since the 5th, the "tank" cant tank, and cant dps, and cant heal - he just follows the rest of the team and tries to look important)
SO basically, M6 removed tanks - and ppl cant do content without tanking class.
Of course ppl get owned and cant finish anything and cant progress anywhere if TANKS CAN NOT TANK !
Wake up Cryptic !

Based on some of the official noises on the forum recently I'm becoming slightly more optimistic for the future of the game but there is still a long way to go to put the fun back into it.

Not sure what you are referring to here? But with the way they screwed up this game so far not sure if they can fix it.
As I go around the net reading/writing reviews it come to light that even the Xblock crowd is not a happy unit either.
I think back to when I was a play tester ,this is different then a beta tester, play tester you get game in alpha stage and test all threw the stages till release, for Microsoft on a game called MechWarrior 4. We gave them the feedback of problems that required immediate attention. But in their great wisdom of needing to get the product to market come hell or high water they were disregardful our concerns and had the attitude they would fix it as they went. So game was released in it's current glitched/buggy form and in a few months the game had gone from great and fun to empty guilds and loss of players till it slowly died out.
PS: I play tested the very first MechWarrior (wire frame) game all the way up to number 4 .So I do have a little knowledge on what is suppose to happen in the different stages of developing a game.

I was referring to the recent arrival of the new lead programmer chappie. Can't find a link to it now but the general sentiment was one of "Yes, I know there is stuff not right and we'll be making an effort to makes some of it better but it will take time."
Of course, we all want everything fixing immediately but at least it's a start, and an acknowledgement that they got it wrong. TBH they could probably get a long way by just knocking a level or two off the trash mobs in the "end game" explorables, especially IWD and WoD. It hurt a lot of people to find that suddenly they could not survive solo dailies in those zones.

I use to like playing this game but since mode 6,the only character that got to 70 with no problem was the new paladin.
My old warlock is useless now only just got passed Drown shore, lvl 66 forget about fiery pit can't even solo it even with a companion
2-4 shoted if it's that hard for a mage my ranger wont get far.So im stuck with my cleric now.

Highest I got to was 62 I think. And most of that came from praying not questing. Only did the first 3 quests with the 'Idiot" and spent most of that time trying desperately to kill him off . Then did 2 or 3 quests at the next place ,it took me over 2 hours to do those .Most the time was wasted waiting for the mobs needed to respawn and running back from camp after a 3 min wait on injurys seeing how most stuff was way over powered to kill off. I think killing off solo play was a major bad move seeing how most players did quests solo.Solo play has a long history in D&D.Many times over the years I've sat at tables where due to RL players could not make it so DM would use solo adventures to fill in , or even have each player go off to do tasks solo during full table events. Not sure where they are headed with this game or even if they do have a target in mind. But this release set the game back big time with this exodus of players and the bad name it's gotten now.
Of course very concerned players could always goggle Wizards of the Coast to get their email and let them know first hand what your true feelings on the matter are.

They have simply gated things too much, we all expect grind, but when you sigh every time you turn in a quest for leveling.. its not good.
Its not that much faster to play the game, then to just log in and invoke. I think the break down is FAIRLY accurate of the playerbase, there is a percentage that like this mod, as it put challenge back into DD's. I dont mind the difficulty per se of most of the DDS (some of the highest damage pool is a little over the top) I think they went too far in landscape and the return of time for playing is boringly long.
In addition, they removed to much of the AD gain, gated RP too harshly , and too many AD sinks now.. LIKE way too many. They actually should reduce the cost of much of their AD sinks.
There is some of the game I like, some I loathe, but above all, the pure slap in the face I felt the playerbase recieved on this last testing phase, where we pinpointed problem over problem and much of it was ignroed, was what aggravates me the most.
Its like they simply refuse to listen or "cant" listen because management isnt getting the concept.
A fun game is the vehicle for your profits, a broken boring one ISNT a vehicle at all.
In addition your cash grab xbox, will DUMP its profits as well if you release mod 6 into it without fixing it first.
Its a BAD example to use the PC crowed to see how far you can push it first. Please dont do this again.
I started playing NWN at the start of the year, I had 3 characters to level 60 all 3 in IWD, and I enjoyed my trips round the Shar, dread WOD etc. Mod 6 came, ended up getting 1 to 70, other 2 to 66. Like a lot of people, by then figured it wasn't getting any better and also like a lot of others I deleted my 3 characters as this was not the game I had built them for or the gear I had spent both time and real money on (approx at eh time 540 hrs. and $130 over 5 months).
A week later I decide to try the Paladin and the GWF starting from scratch. Did not spend any money or any of the zen I had left getting them to level 62. And this is the issue, basically after 60 the game is just tedious, there's no Shar or Dread Ring to break up the grind of getting to 70. No reason to buy fancy gear as its now pretty much useless. If mod 6 had not been so game breaking I would have brought extra slots, I would have prob spent another $50 easily on them at level 60 to get good gear and companions.
There is simply no reason or desire to spend money on the game now. I was having fun before mod 6 and I didn't mind spending real money to make it more fun (no I wasn't into pvp). I find it very odd that they are planning on another release with out fixing the last one. More code that goes on, the harder it will be to fix. Another thing I have noticed is that lots of little things are making so that unless you are very careful you are forced to buy zen to go forward. Wrong move, force people to spend, it wont last long, give them a reason to want to because you are enjoying playing, your onto a winner.
That said making $80 of gear obsolete over night with one mod does not make any one want spend any more and there are lot of people who would have spent way more than myself or spent a lot of hours to in game to get it.
The dev's should have kept the old 60 zones intact and created actual new content for leveling 60 to 70.
Making everything 70+ doesn't make the game more interesting to play, it makes it bloody depressing. It's now more like a job then a game!
I used to play 6+ hours/day... now I'll be hard pressed to play 1 hour a day.

I am not sure what to make of the threats to leave the game. For me, it's not something I'm going to make a decision about. The day is just going to arrive when I am no longer interested. In fact, I've hit the wall several times, already, where it just seemed like too much work to log on. Mighty hard for the devs to keep coming up with new content. Mighty hard balancing act to keep new players coming in and old hands hooked on the game. Can't tell if they are ever going to get it right. All the bugs sure make it hard to keep up the faith. Just amazes me that software developers can get away with putting out products that don't work properly. Guess that "free to play" gives them license for that, but after investing hundreds, if not thousands of dollars, customers are not going to feel that way.

Exactly. whats the point of "threatening to leave". its shown no changes before. if you're going to leave, do it, and maybe come back in a few weeks/months when things change. I bounce between never-winter and GTAV , and a few other MMO's quite often. I always come back to neverwinter though, more so for my friends than for the current state of the game. and although a LOT of changes are really needed to make the game super fun again. I cant say I'm not enjoying myself at times.
Having trouble gearing up because monsters are just hitting way too hard and dying in a few hits is not how a game should be. Even the dungeons here are insanely too tough compared to 5 man dungeons in WoW

Thanks for all the fish.
Exactly. whats the point of "threatening to leave". its shown no changes before. if you're going to leave, do it, and maybe come back in a few weeks/months when things change. I bounce between never-winter and GTAV , and a few other MMO's quite often. I always come back to neverwinter though, more so for my friends than for the current state of the game. and although a LOT of changes are really needed to make the game super fun again. I cant say I'm not enjoying myself at times.
