It's a way to say that there will be no guild halls in module 6.
I'm also thinking this was an acknowledgement of the growing and continued desire for housing, whether guild or personal, by the player base. Especially recently when over the past year, we had many threads that all gained many replies in favor of housing. In other words, it was a "Thanks for your feedback, we share your desire for housing but unfortunately, guild housing won't be in Mod6 but is on the horizon." We know they wanted housing to originally launch with Neverwinter, but kept getting pushed back. So its not like its something they're just now working on, but something they've been working on, in one way or another, since before the game was released.
I know it's usual on this forum to QQ and complain about anything and everything but I reckon change is good.
I'm really looking forward to it. No doubt there will be bugs and glitches, but there will also be new places, people and equipment. New things to stimulate our gaming minds.
I have a thousand questions and I can't wait for more details. Bring it on!

Oh how i wish, i could transfer my Druidic-Sanctum (personal hideout) from Champions online, over to my Neverwinter char. It already matches the D&D setting perfectly and looks just awesome, hehe.
I am a paladin player since I started playing D&D thru Baldurs Gate 1. Thats the only class I've played in tabletop D&D and I've played it thru all cRPGs since. I was waiting for this since beta so that shows how happy I am now. I've read people saying they were expecting the druid but seriously, how...? The game has just one true tank class since launch. Paladin was the obvious choice and besides that both rangers and warlocks were in develepment since beta or maybe before. The Paladin is the first true class developed after release as far as we can tell (of course at this point they are probably working on more).
ANYWAY, my only concern is that mace in his hand. NWO is know to restric weapons to classes with very few options for that. The GF can find an axe at low levels if I am not mistaken and another mace in one of the dungeons but thats all, swords all the time. The point is: let us use swords. That huge shield and the mace makes people think about Diablo III.
Keep in mind that the sword is the classic paladin weapon since the days of 2nd edition. The Holy Avenger, his most famous and popular weapon (not the 3e spell), is a sword.

Yep, let's give him the most generic and boring loadout possible.
And the GF has probably the most varied weapon skins out of all the classes, aside from the various swords you have maces, hammers, spears, axes, shovels...

I'd suggest you stop talking for other people.

assumptions that bis guys are all p2w is incorrect all the bis guys i know have grinded to win (and put in a few bucks for mount and other accoutraments to support devs gg. L2P
Yes, often assumptions are all incorrect. I said I am happy to lose my own artifact gear, which I clearly stated I was fine with losing, so long as the system became more F2P friendly. I am fine with the introduction of even rank 11-15 enchantments as Cryptic's new form of income, but I am strongly against the introduction of more artifact gear, mostly because the gear itself is worth nothing, its the upgrading of it that costs so much. Due to this it creates an environment whereby players are encouraged to grind solo for endless hours in places like IWD for RP to refine their gear, which is not fun. More importantly, artifact gear creates a situation where there is no FEASIBLE way for a player to gain AD, as there is nothing of any value that drops regularly, unlike in mod 0-2 when the weapons in CN held so much value. As for L2P: http://postimg.org/image/46kl62e71/
I believe that says it all...L2P should mean learn to play, NOT learn to pay, as you seem to wish it to mean and honestly, before you tell me to L2P, go ahead and try to do that yourself, as I am certain I am your better with any class. Thats my TR, its rather undergeared in the picture there, but thats fine. My CW is much better geared, with full artifact gear etc, however, I still strongly feel artifact gear must go.
It's always nice to see new content added, even if I'm not interested in (I'm not in a guild so Guild housing is not for me, and there's no way I'm going to raise up another character through all the time gates, I don't have time for this kind of effort).
I do hope the quests that will be added are of the stroyline kind and not of the repeated dailies sort.
My main question about Mod 6 is about the level cap and it's impact on the character I have built so far :
I love the sense of achievement one gets from progressively (some would say painstakingly) building a worthy character. Even if a belt I have spent a lot to buy in Mod 4 drops like snow in mod 5, I'm ok with it.
But if the gear I have spent so much time and money to acquire becomes obsolete, why would I bother getting the new one, since it will, in turn, become obsolete at the next cap raise ?
Because, really, killing Tiamat 100 times is not fun in itself.

On the note above. If new gear is added for 61-70, then please make all T1+ gear be leveled gear like the mulhorand gear, except keep the min-level 60 requirement to equip, so it levels with you from 61 to 70. I don't want to be forced to re-gear all my characters that are currently decked out in T1-T2 or better gear because their level 60 gear can't hold up to the new level 70 content, even if we get level 70 (T3) or something gear. Sure, I can understand adding level 70 set gear that is better than T2 gear we have now, but our current T1-T2 or better gear should not become instantly obsolete and not be able to hold up against level 70 mobs.
I forgot to mention, i'd love to be able to buy an IWD campaign token. I got the Dread ring and Sharandar one already and i really don't feel like doing the IWD campaign. I dislike the entire setting and the last time i went there mobs damaged me for 5k+ through my block, not sure if that was a bug and if it is fixed by now but it drove me away immediatly since other classes were able to dodge the damage which i found to be quite unfair at that time.
I'm excited to hear about a new class, especially the Paladin. I don't know if this has been said already, but half set bonuses do scale with your level....you can see it on the gateway. A simple way of viewing this is to look at the collections tab with a lower level alt to get an idea of what I'm talking about. It also seems like diminishing returns curves are also affected by leveling up.

Whilst I understand and sympathise with you, I would much rather all the old gear becomes obsolete, i.e: the blue gear from level 61-70 is better then current artifact gear, then have our current gear remain, "the best gear there is." The reason I prefer this is because it would literally be like resetting the game, whereby all players are put on even ground and with say 6 new hard mode end game dungeons like the old t2's for the new best gear, dungeons that only the best of the best players in terms of skill can hope to complete, it will, in my opinion, make the game as F2P as it can possibly be. At the same time, this will not hurt the game's revenue, as wallet warriors can still buy AD with zen, in order to then purchase all the new best gear, that they themselves aren't willing to, or capable of farming.

People don't seem to realise that we currently out-gear the content by moons. I don't think that BiS players will struggle with new lvling content at all. Stuff like gear sets (helm, armor, arms, boots) will change for sure but I doubt the artifact gear will become obsolete because it is far too powerful for the current content. Look for how long necks, rings and belts from CN were BiS. Changing things up again with belt and neck slots after one Mod would make very little sense. Legendary should be just that, something that is super powerful and stays with you for some time. You don't see Drizzt running around with new blades every book do you? I do see them raising the Artifact equipment from lvl 60 to 70 to match our lvl at some stage though.

One question why the Oathbound Paladin will just use mace and shield will we be able to change the appareance of the mace for a sword or something like that? Cause i dont like that limitations this game have in this things. Paladins in D&D including neverwinter was able to use all martial weapons. At least let us change the appareance of the weapons like we do with armors for all the clases they can use other types of possible weapons for example change my mace for a sword appareance. Cause is boring see all people almost with same look in same clases. Thanks

A simple way to fix it would be to drastically increase the power of the new gear, as well as drastically increase the strength of mobs. For example, a CW with 20k HP now is considered a glass cannon, if when 70 has 200k HP and is considered a glass cannon, then the new gear is obviously far superior to the old gear. At the same time, if monsters stats were also scaled ridiculously, then it creates a situation where all old gear becomes useless and the new gear is required. Consider this similar to how in WoW, before the gear stat deflation, the difference in stats between a level 80 and a level 85 character was immense in terms of stats.

Which is why I don't think Cryptic will go that route. There is already far too much disparity between a fresh lvl 60 and a BiS lvl 60, way more than I ever saw in WoW at end-game. The devs will give themselves too much unneeded work by going even more overboard with the power creep in Mod 6. Three new gear sets with actual interesting set bonuses will be a welcome addition. Everything since T2 (MC, VT, Black Ice, Draconic, Draconic Templar) has been really underwhelming with regards to set bonuses.

Is it too late to say most players do not like artifact equipment? It is a shady, horrible and greedy system that directs players to use the auction house/zen store/credit card to keep progressing their gear. It does not reward skilled gameplay or time/effort investment adequately like the previous dungeons did like Castle Never.
Don't agree with this. You can still earn these through time/effort. Farming AD through Leadership profession and working the AD exchange. Participating in the dungeons and skirmishes of ToD. Yes, it will take time/effort, but it can be done. Spending money is your choice.
Is it too late to say most players do not like artifact equipment?
Are you sure??? Because that equipment looks quite a lot like BIS to me, even when purple. Especially with those set bonuses.
Maybe most players are happy but not on the forum.
Really nice to hear about module 6 is coming, i am really excited about this news.
Now i want imagine the new module myself
With Module 6: Elemental Evil we will get four new dungeons, one per element. In every dungeon there is a different drop of artifact armor which means four dungeons = four set pieces to acquire.
I would assume that the artifact armor has additional defense slots if it reaches legendary on feet, gloves and helmet. Chest would have an additional offensive slot.
You could unlock and increase secondary slot like on the artifact offhand and choose your own Set-Bonus. Like every new shiny armor it would have overload slots. This mean we would get a cool new armor to personalize the stats we want.
This would mean we get new overload enchantments. Four element enchantments?
We get a new big area to level from 60 to 70, new cool feats and powers included (like already mentioned).
At the current situation I can’t imagine the new random item drop. I only can imagine new artifact gear… maybe an unlock of a new level for artifact gear. I mean it is leveling from 1 to 60 like a character only with refinement stones, maybe the level would only increase to level 70 as well only slightly increase the stats or maybe we get another quality… ?
As new race we will get the Genasi (I am quite sure of it). Maybe monetize in packages or in lockbox like the metallic Dragonborn but we would get the four Genasi races (one for every element).
Platypus wielding a giant hammer, your argument is invalild!
"Another apocalyptic event? My my. We'll get through it as always. Not like it's the end of everything. Just the end of something. Another thing will begin again afterwards." - Di Apzen Xarzith'dos
Seriously on the OOC side though I am looking forwards to building the Guild it's stronghold. I suspect though just like Guild Bank Slots cost AD so will a stronghold.
I don't think any "lvl 60 gear" is suddenly obsolete with this. I am keeping an eye out for the "Drow gear". I wonder what new fashion items might come with module 6.
Actually "design the new Elemental fashion set" sounds like an awesome idea for a contest.
Mod 6 will not be getting guild strongholds, the announcement said they were on the horizon.
On the horizon for after Module 6: Elemental Evil are modules with highly requested additions including guild strongholds and well-known characters from Dungeons & Dragons lore.
A simple way to fix it would be to drastically increase the power of the new gear, as well as drastically increase the strength of mobs. This is the necessary evil. I don't know why it's hard for so many players here to wrap their heads around this concept. Many just start to turtle shell or stick their head in the ground.
There is no way they are going to raise the level cap and not adjust their formula and diminishing returns. This will be their way to make gear(score) level again and will give them a some what clean slate at level 70. Many T2 sets have been a thorn in Cryptic's set, no matter what they have done, they have not been able to get people to stop wearing them. I agree many of the new sets have complete HAMSTER set bonuses but this is the way to force people out of old gear. This will be their easy way to get rid of it. At level 70, wearing an old gear set will be a dream and nothing more than transmute purposes, aside from artifacts if they choose to keep them.
WoW did it over drastically, and that was over 4 expansions before they did a stat crunch to bring it back in line. Level 70 can sit here for another year or two. Just because they release a new module, it doesn't mean that the level cap will increase every time.
As for people that need their gazillion alts in BiS, I'm sorry but that is a personal problem to figure out.
I want new cool artifact gear, loved the concept of that gear, and you dont really need to use your money to level it up, you can grind refinements pretty easily.
What a troll. -.-
Artifact gears killed this game, full of bots and foundries. Because yes, this is the only way for do all these fkin orange items. Or use your money.

I guess I understand why so many people are focused on the level increase as implying gear obsolescence. But, why is nobody considering the implication for new character leveling? You already have an enormous amount of content unlocking at 60 that players have to trudge through to get all the boons (and maybe some gear). Imagine doing that when 60 is not the level cap. Unless they scale all of those zones up to 70, you are going to have lots and lots of content unplayed. But, if they scale up the zones, they have to scale up the gear. And, that would take away the incentive for them to raise level cap. So, is this them writing off new characters and players? Are we going to see a solo-mode for old content as some MMOs went to? Tiamat for 1, anybody? And, what happens to all that excess level power point creep we got during the freeze at 60?
There are many, many issues implied by a level cap increase and none of them are making me feel comfortable.

In the history of MMOs, raising the level cap has solved precisely zero problems, at least for players. The question isn't whether or not it will be bad, it's *how* bad.
@Venture-1@Venture from City of Heroes if you remember that far back. Yes, *that* Venture. Yes, I probably trashed your MA arc. For me it was Tuesday.
What i would like to see from this new Mod is some honesty and old values ( many can laugh now), cause the game is currently a false saint.
Get rid of all artifact HAMSTER and we will have more balance right away. get other means for spending our money.
What nobody from the Officials dares to take in count is, that 99% of players currently running around with legendary artifacts has never put in time nor money, nothing.
As a GM i see this every day, when i try to whisper somebody and no response comes and i only see just a few foundry maps on screen nearly 24/7. Yeah i am a newborn and just came to play an MMO, they are working hard. LOL C'mon are we really so mindless to say they are grinding or doing leadership. LOL
Everybody knows game is running on the back of cheaters, this should stop!
Sure Cryptic doesn't dare to touch them, cause they pay sometimes and they are to many to ban. I don't say ban them all, cause then game would feel empty, but take away their toys.
I wanna fight a decent opponent with his or her skills, not a bot or a player, who has acquired his OPness though the advantage of using bots and exploits.
If Mod 6 would make a clean slate in terms of this artifact HAMSTER then i personally would support it with all my heart.
Introducing more artifact items will make the gap between causal / legit players and wallet warriors/ bot players even wider and even more less fun.
As a famous admiral once said: If i sit down with a cardsharp, i am bound to lose.
The real honest man is honest from conviction of what is right, not from policy.
Robert E. Lee
I only believe in statistics that I doctored myself.
Winston Churchill
The human race is a herd. Here we are, unique, eternal aspects of consciousness with an infinity of potential, and we have allowed ourselves to become an unthinking, unquestioning blob of conformity and uniformity. A herd. Once we concede to the herd mentality, we can be controlled and directed by a tiny few. And we are.
David Icke
This is a really bad idea, obviously already committed, but still a really ill-conceived plan. It is obviously a push to generate profits, but why can't we fix some problems and try for adding some new stuff? Cryptic developers could move in innovative directions, add some simple features and changes that the player-base requests (not the 1% wallet types, or highly vocal and wrong PvP minority), and create pay content that is cheaper, smaller in scope, but desired enough to generate a lot of small purchases (not over-priced, vanity points that a very small amount will acquire) instead of just following a drudging model like that other MMO.

And we are.
