here smy thing. ive spent more than a year, several hundred bucks and a lot of daily grinding getting my toons to 60 and geared... and they arent even that well geared. assuming the level cap increase brings about new gear (and im pretty sure it will) im going to be pretty pissed at all the AD i wasted getting what i have to where it is, not only that but having to start over for new lvl 70 stuff? but oh wait, let me guess... theres going to be a new neverwinter pack you can buy for 50 to 75 dollars that will let you have a jump on that. it hasnt happened yet, but im 90 percent certain thats how its going to work, and that folk is nothing more than a money grab. ive seen it happen inother games, and it sucks that it looks like its going to happen here too. it usually is a death knell for the game honestly. it always turns into a pay to win game purely instead ofsomething that deidcation and small amount of cash can give you a chance to be on an even playing field. but hey, maybe im wrong and the devs will find a way to keep things balanced. like they have so far? oh yeah, thats right.

Why is everyone so afraid of stepping into the unknown?

Probably because of your last sentence :P

I like change under most circumstances but past content and my experience with the game so far has generated a lack of faith and trust. I'm conditioned to expect repetition, grindy, heavily monitised content with time gates or rng thrown in there for good measure.

I do admit I'm looking forward to the Paladin. I've unlocked character slots already in preparation. Funny since at one point I refused to level more characters because I didn't enjoy repeating the same old zones and quests. Turns out the whole game is like that and the 1-60 leveling contains the most interesting character development as you experiement with new skills. The progress to 70 could be interesting but I'm less confident about how that will be handled since I've no experience with that in Neverwinter.

This is pretty much the definition of MMO. Even the world's largest MMO plays exactly like that. Except people keep coming back for more.

I am giving Cryptic the benefit of the doubt since they signed on with xbox. They will need to make a game that is higher quality than it is now. We pretty much beta tested the game for them and soon they will be ready for their real launch. If they really screw up and Microsoft kicks them to the curb, then that is the final nail in the coffin for Cryptic and this game.

I found the hidden code in the picture!!!

Finally some new gear. Many players have been wearing the same outfits for over a year without ever washing them. Blah!!!

I've always liked playin a Paladin. They never fail. I hope that there's at least a daily Holy Avenger spell to be used. I can hear the PVerPs screaming about that already.

So how is the extra levels gonna work? Our we getting to use 10 more Feat points in just the Heroic, Paragon, or a NEW feat section?!?

I have three MMORPGs installed on my computer, I wouldn't classify the other two that way. Perhaps the difference is that I've never reached level cap in either of the others or done much group content. The only reason I have in Neverwinter is because levelling is so much faster.

I am cautiously optimistic that the Paladin will be different enough from both the GF and DC so as to have its own identity, while at the same time, not eclipsing either in terms of effectiveness.

I hope that the devs will not ignore previous content, and make epic dungeons and the previous campaigns still worth running, (once you have your boons and such).

This times a thousand! Please hear us Mods and forward to the Devs. Money will flow either way, however "in with the new out with the old" is the worst thing you could do and it will not make your customers happy. Respect the power ( gear , boons etc ) we have accumulated so far, don't make it obsolete, rather expand it. Imo legendary gear doesn't need an expansion, it should stay the same as to reduce the overall power creep

Finally a real tank, so the GF can concentrate on what they are good at, aka. dealing damage. All that's missing now, is a paragon path, that replaces the shield with a second sword. ^_^
PnP D&D Mechanics for Oathbound Paladins explicitly states that they are not "tanks" by saying that they can easily be overcome by too many enemies and are best in single target combat scenarios. If they're like PnP, they'll be a support class. It's too early to speculate though but in PnP, OP's can choose to dual wield, sword and shield, or two-hander. Also that they are a caster class that mixes buffing, healing, and melee fighting. On that note, I'd say having both a GF and an OP in the party will be desired, as they sound like they will compliment each other nicely.

This is the tweet by Chris Meyer:

"Cats out of the bag. Been working on paladin and level cap increase. TL; DR pally be healers or tanks, depending on paragon path."

So it seems like it's going to be either one or the other and not both. Though I'm not quite sure about this choice for a new class unless they make the Holy Trinity necessary.

Yeah, they have repeatedly said that not only will they continue releasing new races and classes, but also paragon paths. So, I am confident in saying we'll see more paragon paths for all classes. It might not be with Mod6, but eventually I am sure.

Yeah that is concerning. I'm worried that it'll be like the GF, a class being forced into a trinity role in a non-trinity game. It's my one big concern with what was said today.

Nice, thanks! Sounds then like one of the PP's will be sword and board and focusing more on buffing than healing. I can imagine such to be considered "tanky." However, when I think of a "Tank" though, I think of a normal fighter in full plate mail with a sword and shield who is able to draw in and hold down a good number of mobs and be able to thick it with help of friends, aka our current GF.

Module 6 is coming and i would like to make some suggestions..

    1. Give us dual spec. Let us change specs and have different builds for pvp/pve
    2. Add 2 more slots for encounter powers. With the level increase, more powers will be available and it will be awsome if we can use more powers. Game will be more exciting for sure.
    3. Make siegeable stongholds that can be conquered once every week. Guilds will be able to register for siege once per week and defenders/attackers will meet in the battlefield near the stronghold.
    4. More pvp maps or let users create pvp maps with foundry
    5. Arenas 2vs2 and 3vs3. This will give huge boost in pvp
    6. Create quests that can be fulfilled with pvp group in open areas like icw, but without zone restriction. Full map pvp and quests/rewards deserving formation of groups and pvp between them.
    7. No more artifact gear..No more RP.. Let legendary gear to lvl up with us or by using a medium price item, we can upgrade. No more farming Rp plz..
    8. More dungeons and harder ones
    9. 10 - 15 men dungeons

With the new lvl increasing and the existence of more encounters, adding 2 more slots will be essential in game mechanics

I would put real money on this never happening because of console mechanics. Even without the whole console thing, I'd be against it. Limited spell slots and hard choices on what to slot is a core dnd system imo.

This ^^. And its a staple in all action mmos. If you can use all your moves at any given time, that kind of negates it.

I would be against it as well.

    August 2014... http://www.enworld.org/forum/content...!#.VL6Ysi6bSUk

"Called by the Elder Elemental Eye to serve, four corrupt prophets have risen from the depths of anonymity to claim mighty weapons with direct links to the power of the elemental princes. Each of these prophets has assembled a cadre of cultists and creatures to serve them in the construction of four elemental temples of lethal design. It is up to adventurers from heroic factions such as the Emerald Enclave and the Order of the Gauntlet to discover where the true power of each prophet lay, and dismantle it before it comes boiling up to obliterate the Realms."

    I estimate:
    - Not to get 10 extra feat points. New feats could be reached with the actual surplus of 10 points and some combinations of T4/T4/Capstone like full Destroyer GWF with Intimidation would become possible. I think there will be a new feat section OR the new feats become so powerful that such puny combos become obsolethe ^^...OMG...
    - The whole discussion about "my artifact gear *whine* will become trash..." will relax. Do you realized that it has 60 levels? Not 100 like the artifacts. 60 levels like your character! I estimate an increase to 70 and a new artifact power for belt/weapon/offhand/neck which could be a slot, random/roll stat or power-enhancer... like on the offhand nowadays. Approximate the RP/lvl plot to 70 and start to save RP ^^.
    - No housing because the text says spongy "after module 6" that means 2016 or later or never. I feel sorry for PW because here they could earn money. You want the porno estate? Pay for it. This is fluff and posing! This is the point to drain money! A lot of players want this and will pay an the game balance (pay-to-win blabla) is not affected. The same for customization of mounts and companions. I would sell golden saddle, horse-shoes with spark-effect and double-D HAMSTER for the dragonborn companion ^^
    - A new "level" for some existing dungeons. They increase monster level add a new power to each boss rotation and the lvl 70 loot in form of a new chest. In the future all dungeons can be recycled in this way. Think about it. This is the easiest way and to be honest.. I they do good work (deadly traps, bug/glitch-fixes, design upgrade, way harder boss mechanic etc.) it may be enough to revive old dungeons. The way to get an Draconic Templar set is... boring HAMSTER! Only 1 zone/dungeon/skirmish to play to and play with level 70 would kill the game.

    Hi!

GF (who is my main or was) will die now completely out. I feel like Pierot, one eye is happy for the Paladin (old school DnD player here), other eye is crying, cause i know this will be the last nail in GF's coffin.

I asked today my guildies and friends, the few, who still hang on to the GF, if they will after the new Mod. I think everybody knows the answer, NO.

Paladin will make the GF obsolete, it will be able to do the same as a GF and more. GF would only live if either Paladin would be a paragon to GF or if GF could choose the Paladin as paragon tree.

Sadly GF was never a good choice in this game, always a stepchild, weak in every aspect, bugged defenses and now even zero power output.

I am not a GF but I know of many and they feel the same way as you, would it not be nice if they GF was replaced by the Paladin? Im curios to know the GFs opinions on this? So basically a straight cross over to new class all your gear should be able to be swapped out for the equivalent of the Paladin with a full respec and character roll? I do not see a future for the GFs after this which is really sad, I hope cryptic rewards you guys with something, else give huge buffs ^^

I highly doubt they will add more encounter slots. What I am hoping for is the addition of power tray presets, which one can easily switch between while out of combat, (or with some sort of timer to allow limited switching while in-combat). This, IMO, is a highly sought after QoL improvement, which would allow a greater amount of diversity and adaptability.

That being said, and with another class being added, I'd also love to be able to sort the character screen.

In general, though, I am simply starved for more details regarding what's in store for Mod 6!

Was there so little to talk about regarding M6 that you had to bring up what's gonna be after M6? I thought M6 was supposed to be "the biggest module to date".

It's a way to say that there will be no guild halls in module 6.

I'd like to finally see a change in the pvp system such that it actually works according to gear brackets, so a team with a 9k scrub doesn't have to fight a whole group of 24k p2w players. There shouldn't be more than 2k space between the lowest player on one team and the highest on the other. If that means premade p2w teams have to wait a while in a queue (and so do 9k scrubs), I won't shed any tears.
If there's to be new pve gear, I'd like to see a move away from the direction that the black ice/draconic/templar sets have taken with HAMSTER up a character's build (e.g. the way the templar set has no armor penetration and way too much crit) to simply better versions of the t2 sets. The draconic/templar/black ice sets are still rarely in use because their tiny set bonuses don't make up for having to rearrange/exchange most of your enchantments and give up the much more useful bonuses from t2 sets.
I'd also like to see some serious work done on better explaining the choices we make when choosing feats. It is not sensible to ask a player to, for instance choose a feat that provides "a chance" of increased life steal or what have you when the player has no information as to what percentage that chance is.
Some fixes to longstanding bugs in player abilities (bloodbath not requiring a target to activate and often missing a nearby target, for instance) are also needed.
A spam filter for zone, trade and LFG chat would be welcome indeed. My fingers get tired from reporting spammers constantly.
A fix to the way the queue system can hit a player with a leaver penalty, and often does, due to being kicked due to a glitch or a disconnect.
Every class has, I'm sure, a build that no competent player uses anymore, for instance in HR both Stormwarden and Archery. These should all be given a serious look to bring them up to par with others.
And like many others here I'd like to see some new dungeons - not something insanely hard (Shores of Tuern, with its monstrous spike damage, is a perfect example of a badly executed idea), but something worth grinding for a key to its chest the way we can get them for ToD and later material. Being able to decline the contents of the chest and keep the key is one of the best ideas in the game lately.
Oh, and get rid of Sprint, please. There is no reason on earth that GWFs, who should be weighed down by their armor, should be able to zoom around like they're on rocket skates. Something more in line with the nature of that class would make more sense.

I believe there is a fine line between doing the right thing and work and do the "right" and become a complete catastrophe.
It is necessary to see how the gear will be replaced and not a complete discard.

and of course the gear artifact, stop to think calmly and see that with this major expansion there opening for the legendary gear / pve but legendary / pvp / pve

We know the old habit to recycle elements from other games that PW / Cryptic has and I believe that this Guild HQ is equal to the swordsman, will be something unbelievably good because for perhaps the guild in the swordsman has a reason and a cause of there, like the pve guild, dungeons that can only be made in guild and of course, the much acclaimed war between guilds / invasion of guilds.

I will spare explain in details, those interested check out the game but basically it can give new meaning to the game and a new goal (not counting the return of old and experienced players to add profit / game content)

so take great care with what you will do from now on!

There are many other topics to be corrected, so ... look after this expansion focus on bug fixing and balancing classes (leave it for last and calmly analyze the feedback from players to see if it can really be a good invest in suggestion of any player.

    level up

another sensitive issue that deserves special attention as it can be introduced as epic destination (drop the gear, but only put obtaining the maximum level would be allowed to interest income
