Just a hint here...you can ignore the script and still get the drop and earn the points to trigger the chance for the epic drop, but your gonna have to rack up the points in other ways.
Personally I ignore the scripts....however you do get points from following it.

Holy crazy, the gloves just dropped for my HR! Only need my main hand for my GWF now. *cheers!*
I don't know if the reward is damage based, the second time I got my gloves I was lagging so hard that I almost didn't manage to attack remorhz (or maybe I did attack him but I couldn't see that lol)
That's because it's not damage based.
As far as I can tell it solely revolves around time spent in combat in an encounter as well as being present when it's completed. Also, it's hugely random as I duo'd an epic with a CW (Yes, just the two of us) and we both got uncommon rewards - black ice and a potion. Yippie.
I'm not surprised that people are QQ'ing about this however, as anything remotely difficult in Neverwinter is met with an unrelenting tide of whinging and crying by the largely incompetent player base.
LOL I love it. One person emphatically states you can only get gloves from certain encounters, another says they'll drop from anything. One person says you have to follow the script, another person says that has nothing to do with it, it's how much time you spent in the encounter. Yet another person says it's all about damage, the next person says it's about control. Face it, folks, you don't have a fecking clue, you're all talking out your collective asses. My favorites are the trolls who got lucky drops early on and now like to try and belittle the rest of us poor schlubs who are still grinding, as if they have some magic secret fecking formula or are just that superior...typical PvP a s s hat attitude.
This thread has succeeded in its intent, which was to draw Cryptic's attention to the problem. Now it's just a matter of seeing what they do about it.
There is no problem. Just keep playing and eventually you'll get yours.
On 3 toons doing each lots of HEs daily since release, I got main hand for CW (which I rarely play) from Beholder.
I cannot enter the skirmish on any of my toons.

Just a question because I have seen you post in the pvp sections a lot , haven't you got the black ice belt from the pvp campaign yet? won't that with the empowered hat and boots get you in the skirmish?

No, I have max 11/30 on GWF for PvP campaign, and 1/10 for open world. I like Domination, Open World is nothing to me, zerging=no skill.
Playing more toons is not easy and I like them all.
Also I didn't have time to go to IWD and kill alts for hours as some of my acquaintances did... if you know what I mean.

I finally got my black ice bracers today (im GWF)
After countless fully completed HE´s, I join the last minute of a Raid the Raiders HE and BAM!! I got my bracers.
I guess the random chance gods finally gave me a break.

Got gloves for my TR earlier from Remo - pretty sure I didn't do the most damage since I reached after, I mined the black ice when it said to do so and I didn't attack any of the small remos...poof it dropped. I ran about 58 heroics total.
i play cw and dc, i had way more problems getting the gauntlets on my cw than on my dc... i have 3 pairs of gauntlets on my dc now (2 of which i would happily sell if only i was allowed too), 1 mainhand, on my cw 2 mainhands and 2 pair of gauntlets...
i NEVER equip heal-only spells, i debuff using divine glow, most of the time (not always) i ignore secondary objectives (got my 3rd pair ignoring everything else and just putting astral shield/divine glow on rhemo whenever he spawned)... my dc uses burning guidance tho, i use HG whenever possible and i also have a vanguard banner that i drop in the early part of the fight...
gauntlets can drop anywhere, (tho rhemo has by far the highest chance), my cw for example got them from a yeti rampage... all my mainhands are from prospector attack-encounters...
despite me having no problem getting that stuff, for whatever reason, i agree that current the system sucks...
i would like to run kessel with my guildmates now, but i cant... because
1. they dont have gauntlets and/or
2. even with 2 pieces of t3 gear they are not allowed to enter, because (holy mother****ing surprise) its bugged...
Gimme one pair of DC gloves sir...
Over 150 major encounters in total... no gloves. (tried with CW, DC & GWF).

Keep up the grind, folks. I know it stinks. I still need my main hand for my GWF. All other pieces are accounted for.
I got the gloves for my CW last night. Played Raid the Raiders for the first time. Arrived well after the first phase I think, but a reasonable time before the boss appeared. Having read this thread I swapped in Icy Terrain to go with Steal Time and went 'berserker mage' - TP into the middle of spawns, Icy Terrain, Steal Time, Oppressive Force if up. Fanning the Flame to set the whole spawn on fire.
It was dangerous (I procced my SF a couple of times and died once) but it worked. Epic reward when my more cautious play usually nets me junk.
Is there a better of chance of getting items in a group. All I have get is cores or uncommon resources .
My main is a HR so if it's damaged based I'm doomed lol.

I am going onto the 5th week and no gloves, so 2 weeks of grinding is nothing- no gloves nothing.

LOL. I rarely play my HR and the Bracers dropped for her from Raid the Raiders. My mains have yet to get any drop.
