Kinda sorta. There is still a huge lack of weapon choices. Its been slowly getting better, just not nearly fast enough.

In most cases, the spears, axes, and the like, exist as lower level skins. Items that by themselves dont offer much. But exist as a means to transmute existing weapons. So, if you got an epic sword with stats you like. You just need to apply a skin to it to make it into a spear.

Places like the Trade bar vendor and the Wondrous Bazaar offer all kinds of highly over priced transmute options. You can also find them as rewards for events and the like. I know last CTA had a GWF weapon skin of a giant war maul. While GFs got a short spear and Rogues could get an axe.

    Hello,

Since I apparently need to post in another thread before my timer starts so I can start making my now threads I'll post my questions here:
I'm a new player to NW, played PWI for 3 years, played some Tera and Rift and am wondering what the most populated PvE server is.
Also are there many new players or just a bunch of veterans with 5 alts?
Also, does this game have any freedom of making your class (like being more offensive or defensive/having more skills that let party members do more damage or having more skills that are focused on dealing damage)?

I hope to enjoy this game and also that it's not pay to win like PWI nowadays...

    Hello,
I am in the same boat as solamnie with the need to post in another thread thing.

When I try to start the game I get a message saying that I'm logging in from a new computer (true) and need to enter a code. I have checked my email on file & have never received any such code, how do I get this code?

    1) there is only one server (Dragon) if you are referring to the owlbear/preview/neverwinter buttons on the patch screen just dont use them unless you want to test stuff.

2)There are a lot of new players more will be starting alts after dec. 5th though, for the release of the hunter ranger.

3)each class has 3 different feat trees (and will have 2 paragon paths to choose from after the dec. 5th

Question: About the Packs, Neverwinter Packs and Feywild Packs, I was just wondering, if I bought the Hero of Neverwinter Pack, I obviously won't get some of the items in the Guardian of Neverwinter Pack? Is that correct because it is quite confusing.

Also, In the Neverwinter Packs, you only get a Hero of the North or Guardian of Neverwinter title in Forums not in In-Game right? And in Feywild you get a Knight of Feywild Title both In-Game and in the Forums?

Last one, If I bought the Hero of the North Pack, I would be considered a founder, even if I didn't bought the pack in the launching or the beta testing of the game?

Hero and Guardian packs can be stacked without losing anything. They contain a few overlapping items, which you can only hold one at a time (Greycloak weapon, for example). But if you bought both, you'd get two retraining tokens and four character slots total, if I'm remembering the contents correctly. So it isn't that you don't get the stuff from the pack, but that you can only have one of a unique item at a time, and getting that item from multiple sources at once isn't possible.

Hero and Guardian packs are no longer Founder's packs and do not come with an in-game "Founder" title since the live launch of the game. They still have their forum titles attached. Feywild Knight includes both forum and game titles.

Yes, the Neverwinter packs don't contain in-game title. The founders pack did include the in-game title "Founder", but they were replaced with the Neverwinter packs when the game launched.

No, you won't be considered a founder if you buy either of the Neverwinter packs.

Huh, I read that question wrong. If you buy the Hero pack, you get what's in the Hero pack. If you buy the Guardian pack, you get that. The Hero pack is not Guardian+, it's a completely different thing.

I see, I'm just used on playing another game, which for example you buy the 100$ Pack you get the items of 50$, 25$ Packs + some other items. Anyways thanks for answering my question.

About the Forum Title, if I bought all three packs that has a Forum Title would I have Hero of the North, Guardian of Neverwinter, Knight of Feywild as my title all at the same time, or I'll have to choose only one.

Also, does the packs like expire, I mean like after a month or so maybe more, they won't be buy-able?

You can only have one forum title active at a time. You can also choose to remain as "PWE User"

They haven't removed any of the packs yet, and I don't see why they would....

there are a few reasons why this could be taking a while. we'll start with some launcher basics. *note, this will likely change once ARC is used for launching/patching.

if you open the launcher, at the top, you will have the options link. when you click it, you'll see all kinds of options in there. the one we're looking for is "on-demand patching". i believe by default, this is checked. if it is not checked, this would be one reason why patching is taking forever. un-checked, the patch will include all patch changes all at once. if checked, you will get spot patching for areas that you have not been in since the last patch update. this is really a preference option and it varies from person to person.

a second reason for patching taking a long time is going to be bandwidth availability. this could be an issue anywhere in the network. if your internet connection is being shared by two people and one of you is streaming netflix in high def, your patch might take longer than usual. if there is a major internet hub that is having issues, traffic may be re-routed causing longer hops and slower speeds. and lastly, if lots of people are currently hitting the patch server, this could also cause slower speeds for everyone. this is pretty common for patch days. i couldn't tell you what kind of bandwidth PWE has on their patching network, but i assure you it is likely far better than your personal home network connection. in addition to this, slow patching could be caused by all of these things or some of these things. what i usually do when patching is let it run and i go do something else for a little while. if i sit there and watch it, it'll seem like it's never going to finish. :)

Just a follow up question, what's the difference of the Founder Packs and the Neverwinter Packs, I know the Founder Packs are not available anymore, but if I understood correct, both packs are almost similar, I'm just re-checking what's there difference, is it that the Founder has the Founder title in-game, is that the only difference?

Thank you for answering again guys!

the founder packs were essentially the same as the hero of the north pack and the guardian pack except they were offered during open beta and included the in-game title of "founder". to my knowledge, that is the only difference, yes.

Question: About Accounts, is there a way to use my username when logging in, because I can only log in using my email, I registered here in Neverwinter (https://register.perfectworld.com/nw_splash) not in the Perfect World (https://register.perfectworld.com/register).

In Neverwinter it asks the following:
Email - Display Name (Which counts for Forum Name, Arc Name)

In Perfect World it asks the following:
User Name - Forum Name - Email

So I wonder, if I made my account in the Perfect World would I be able to use my User Name in the Arc, In-Game, and maybe in the Forums? I like my Display Name, it's just annoying because it's so much easier to type my Display Name rather than my Email.

Also here in the Forums, when would I be able to post some threads? Why won't my Signature work, I'm using <IMG></IMG> (Change the <> to []).

    Thank you again!

There were other obsolete rewards attached to the Founder's packs, such as guaranteed closed beta weekend access and priority queuing for same.

Other than the titles, you still get all the same stuff that would still be functional.

Chrysheight: I have the same issue with signing in with my e-mail not my user name. Been like that for months. I've asked a few times but never really got an answer. I think I registered in NeverWinter as you did. That never seemed an issue to me, but now you have me wondering. I also have to enter my e-mail when relogging after getting disconnected. My user name is so much easier to type in then my e-mail, I'd like to be able to use it as well.

I think that when I first joined it was a day or two before I could start new threads here. It's been awhile, so I'm not 100% on that.

Anyways, still waiting for an answer about the email! :)

you use the same name to log into the game as you do the forums.

and where are you getting your signature pic from (photobucket? or other web page) you may need to post it as a <URL=**************><IMG>**************</IMG></URL> (once again substitute <> for []

I tried using your code, it still doesn't work.

    Test:

    Paladin.jpg

But it seems that when I use my code to reply in threads, it works. If I use my code or your code in my signature both codes doesn't work.

from the first time you log into the forums, you are on a probationary period during which you are not allowed to use an avatar, signature or create new threads. this period shouldn't last longer than a few days and not longer than a week. this is to deter would-be spammers. :)

    Hey guys,

Just the opinion of a newbie...
I started playing yesterday, looked fun but here's my two cents:
    1. I can't whisper people before I'm level 15 (kinda hard to pm someone you want to join their guild).
    2. The lack of skills you can use at the same time...1, 2, q, e, r, left and right mouse button, doesn't this make your style to play less fun (compare it to PWI: over 20 skills to use at the SAME TIME) instead of the 7 in Neverwinter...
    3. This one might just be a small annoyance but all the same: every time I talk to an npc, I have to click away those 3 bars at the left side of the mini map away. Not hard but kind of annoying every time you get a cutscene or something...
    4. No responses of any kind when I yell in the Zone

    1. This is to deter spammers/gold sellers, it way more of a plus then a minus. It sucks that you can't whisper someone to join a guild, but go to Protectors Enclave and you can use /zone to ask someone recruiting for an invite. Should work fine.

    2. It's all preference, I prefer it this way as apposed to other MMO's as once new paragon paths come out, there should be a lot more diversity in what skills someone wants to take. I already see multiple ways someone plays in PvP/PvE and I find it very interested compared to what your skill combo is but having the option at any time to facesmash a new one.

    3. I never had that issue, what resolution are you at? Maybe I'm just not noticing it as it doesn't annoy me.

    4. What area are you on? If you're in the tutorial then you're not in a place where ;
a; People know how to use zone
b; People want to talk to you as they're trying to level up.
Guaranteed there's plenty of people using Zone in Protectors, all hours of the day. If you're in a training area, people want to train, but I still see zone often used.

Werealchemist: I think we both understand that you have to use the same name to log into the game and the forums. The question was... why do we have to use our e-mail address to log in when both places offer a choice of login name or e-mail? Using login name has never worked for me. Not here at the forums; game or even the Wiki. As my e-mail is so much longer then my login name, it would be nice to be able to use it.

For that matter... why is there no autofill of my login? Why do I have to retype it each time I log in to the forums? If no autofill, why doesn't it remember and hold my login?

Simple things that are standard in most if not all forums seem to be broken or lacking here. That "Top" button has never worked and it sure would be nice if it did.
Supscribeing to a thread gives an option to be notified via e-mail when a new post is added to the thread. I've yet to get a single e-mail.

It's silly stuff like this that seems broken and not ever fixed that leave me cold toward the game and these forums.

Are you getting an error when you try to send a private message? If the person isn't online, you won't be able to whisper them. You could always send your message via in-game mail.

Yes - the Sentinel path is more tank-oriented, while destroyer is DPS, and the other one (Instigator IIRC) is sort of control-oriented.

That's an odd resolution. Do you mean 1366 x 768 or maybe 1280 x 720? The former is a pretty common laptop resolution, and the latter is "720P".

Question: About Custom Channels, Is there a way to have a shortcut in sending a message in that channel? I know about binds, what I need to know is the command. '/c' '/c Channel Name' '/c Channel_Name' '/c_Channel_Name' '/channelsend' '/channelsend Channel Name', I think that's the commands I've tried so far and none of them worked.

/c works, but if the channel name has spaces in it, you will need to use quotes so /c "Channel Name". If it doesn't have a space in it you can also use /channelname.
