I don't know if this will get answered or not, but I'm a new player, and I am working on a Control Wizard. I'm stuck on a quest that I can't seem to figure out how to complete: A Cantrip Trip. I am supposed to go to a certain area and cast Ghost Sound, but I can't figure out how to cast it. The spell doesn't appear anywhere. Anyone else have this issue, or know how to do it?

If this is the one in the Tower district. All you have to do is jump down the hole in the broken tower, and chat with the ghost. It does seem a little bit like a bad idea, that hole looks like it will kill ya, but you will be fine.

Sockmunkey is on the wrong quest.

Casting ghost sound, all you do is look for little bits of the environment you can interact with: "press F to cast ghost sound". That's it.

Becky's right... To do the Ghost Sound Quest, ya just have to find the right spot and you are promted to hit "F" to cast the spell.
Sock is talking about the Talk to the ArchMage quest. I think ya get it from the same guy. Though only Wizards get this quest, all classes can jump down the hole and will show an achevment in their journal for doing so.

Well... my game is crashing now. Was just on and exited to feed the cat, loaded back up and nothing but crashes. I'm now waiting for the files to be varifed. I notice there is no patch note posted for this mornings patch. So what did they break this time??

Couple of questions: If I have to reinstall this game, do I lose all my AD and Zen?? Chars, I'm guessing will be toast.

I've gotten a couple of odd Runestones, not sure I understand them. I have a "Lesser Serene Runestone" and reading it, I think it only works on a 30th level Companion, is this right??

All account and character information is stored server-side. Reinstalling will affect nothing. It's not like reinstalling an offline game without backing up your saves (though most games these days store saves outside of their main directory, so reinstalling shouldn't touch them either).

Runestones can be applied to companions starting at level 1, and then as they level up they get access to more rune slots. IIRC, they tell you what the effect of a serene runestone would be for a max level companion, and then it scales down with their actual level. I also understand that it's not very good.

Everything about your account is stored on the server. Only thing that you will lose is client settings like resolution, chat options, etc.

Runestone works on any companion, whether they are rank 30 or not. Serene runestone would be pointless on an augment companion since they don't take damage, but otherwise works on all companions.

As for the downtime this week, there was no patch notes because it was just maintenance and there was no patch.

Thanks for the info guys! That runestone does strike me as a waste of a slot. Though, when things are augmented by such small amounts like .1% or for 1 second, all bumps in powers and feats seem to be more in the line of a coin toss then any real boost to your char.

I'm wondering, is this kind of tiny boost normal for MMO's?

New question: I'm getting rid of one of my chars so's to try a new mix out. I've been able to mail most of her stuff to other chars with no problem, but I'm wondering if it's possible to mail my gold to one of my other chars as well? Also, is it possible to unbound items to be moved to other chars?

    Thanks for the help guys!

You cant mail gold. It can be traded however. So if you have a trusted friend, or alt account willing to handle it for you, you can pass it to another character. If that option isn't feasible, you can simply buy up a ton of stuff you know you are going to need. Like potions, injury kits, resource kits, ect. And mail those to a character of your choice. You could trade gold for lockbox keys as well, but such transactions can be risky, presently. But they are items that hold a lot of value and can be easily traded for other items or other currency.

As far as bound items, there is nothing at all you can do about those other then sell them to a vendor for gold. Or in the case of Level 60 epics, salvage them for AD.

You can find people in the trade channel willing to sell keys for large amounts of gold. Sometimes.

This may seem a silly question... but what is a "Skill Node"??? I've seen it mentioned a few times now, and with the new Holloween deal going on, I saw it again.

Those little sparkly decorations that you use the skill kits on- Dungeoneer, Arcane, Religious, Nature, and Thief.

Ah, thanks Orden. I thought of those as chest. Skill chests maybe. Not as nodes. Nothing at all what I kinda think a "Node" is. Ah well, live and learn....

So on to a new issue. I tried my first Foundry Quest tonight.... It was a major waste of time. I had to find a gal being held in a cathouse... I was told to get a key from one of the girls working there. I got said key easy enough, found the door it went to... But nothing I did would open the door! It kept telling me I needed the key, and the key was clearly in my inventory. After about a half dozen try's opening the door, I just trashed the quest. Then was told I couldn't rate or review the quest, since I quit it. So no way to tell the maker that the quest is broken... ah well... So much for doing the Foundry...

I also talked to the Kobold guy about the daily stuff... looks like that's all for 60th level chars. So it's back on the treadmill for me.... no outside fun. So it goes....

Oh, hey, don't give up! Most Foundry quests work just fine. Try one of lovepeas's quests, they're fun.

Here's something that's been bugging me ever since I first noticed it: At the start of the game you meet Lt. Linkletter, later on, you have to help him save his wife. Now the thing that bugs me... He tells us he's part of Sgt. Knox's squad... But as a Lt. he out ranks Knox. At least in every Army I've ever heard of, or been a part of. So what happened?? Did Linkletter get busted down to Corp. at some point? It would make more sense to me if Knox was a Capt. instead of a Sgt. Maybe even a Major... Knox needs a promotion!

Oh, while I'm on the whole Linkletter thing... While the Spellplague is a fun quest.... The whole take Mrs. Linkletter though the sewers is a major drag. This gal don't slow down for nobody! There's no time to loot chests and barely time to pick up fallen loot. She should stay with you as you lead her through, not out run you!

That just bugs me to no end, and is really the worse part of the whole game for me so far.... I dread running this quest because of this...

I know how ya feel. My dislike for the Linkletters is strong.

From the, "I can outrun my escort and turn into a giant rage monster when I do". To the mindless stupidity of waiting to get Knox and crew to gather an assault team, only to run off and go solo commando at the first minor speed bump. With completely predictable results.

Makes me wish I could punt the both of them into some deep bottomless pit...a chasm if you will. :p

Question: About achievements, I believe that there are achievements that when you get in certain point of level you won't be able to get them anymore, are there only skirmish achievements? Or there are other else, I'm quite of a completionist, so I hate it when I miss stuffs like that, so I would like to ask if there are other kinds of achievements that in a certain point you won't be able to get them.

An advance thank you to everyone who could help!

You can also miss the normal dungeons, if you out level them just like the skirmishes. However you can go back and enter them manually if your level gets to high and get those achievements. The Skirmishes you missed you will be able to make up as the CTA events come along. Certain quests you also not be able to complete if you level to quickly, keeping you from earning the Exploration achievements.

So Dungeon Achievements, can still be taken anytime even if you max up your level and all quests are done.

^ I won't be worrying about that then.

I see so Skirmish Achievements can still be taken at CTA Events, what does that stand for CTA = ???, how often does this event occur?

And if you don't mind, Exploration Achievements are just a few. As I've seen here: http://neverwinter.gamepedia.com/Achievement

I would really appreciate it if you can tell me those achievements that I could miss in the Exploration.

Also thank you for your answer, looking for more answers to my question!

CTA = Call to arms events. To date there have been only 3. They are handy if you missed one or two skirmishes. But id honestly not consider them a real substitute for achievement hunting. So far they are still far too random and erratic, when we see one, to count on them.

Fortunately module 2 will help a bit getting achievements from skirmishes. The level range for each skirmish is getting expanding and the queue line will be much more forgiving. It should be less of a hassle to get into one and therefore get the achievement before you out level it.

Other then the skirmish achievements, I don't know of any others that can be missed or you get locked out from. All quests can be taken even if over leveled. Dungeons can be entered manually, bypassing the queue, even if over leveled. In addition Epic versions count as heroic (normal) versions for zone completion.

That just answers all my questions, thank you!

So Module 2 will come out this December right? That's the Shadowmantle Patch, I think-.. right? (Just new here.)

So assuming I've already maxed my level, and I missed some of Achievements, in Module 2 I will be able to get those achievements? Or will I only get it if I started level 1 in Module 2?

Anyways, like you've said only Skirmish Quest can be missed out? Correct, so in every map there is 1 Skirmish, I will just have to do that, and I won't miss out any Achievement, and if I miss one, I'll just have to be lucky to do a Call to Arms Event.

Final Answer for my Question is: "Only Skirmish-related Achievements can be missed out."

Thank you and please do correct me if I am misunderstanding something.

You got it. If you are already 60 and missed most of it. Your only hope is the CTA events.

If you are just starting up leveling all you really have to focus on is doing each skirmish for each adventure zone. As long as you get those done, the rest can be done anytime later.

Just for reference, the last three CTA events where Tower District, Helms Hold, and Vellosk. In that order. Pay special care to not miss those, it might be a very long time before they come around again, if ever.

Your answers are very much appreciated, now after playing for a while, I've been wondering, where are the other kinds of weapons, Axes, Hammers, Spears, things like that, to be honest, seeing a dwarf using a two handed sword is not really sight to see, they look much better with Axes or Hammers.

Are those equipment available? If yes, are they even let's say as strong as the other end game items?
