Fire and forget for 12 seconds of pitiful damage. Sigh....

How is being immune in the middle of 20 mobs a con?
How is proning everything and stopping incoming damage to the entire party a con?
How is delivering full dps in 4 seconds a con?

I can generate full AP within 4 seconds of landing especially when there is a singularity. That translates into 2 Avalanches in the time of your 1 slam.

I am going to be extremely generous with the numbers and low ball the damage to 10k average damage per mob per cast of Avalanche. Explain to me how Slam which ticks for me about 982 per tic for 12 seconds is even close to 20k(2 casts of Avalanche). That is single target. What happens when we increase the number of targets?

Slam does the same amount of damage from 5 targets to 500 targets.
Avalanche just gets better and better from 5 targets to 500 targets.

Really? like what? Please link me the many threads where serious GWF players were calling for changes to the other Dailies, changes to their cap limit, changes to their utility in the current content, etc... Oh I forgot, they were too busy playing their other characters. Most people with GWF only started playing them again after the 6-13 patch. Hec you rarely saw GWFs in PvP even, before then.

copti you know me, ive been on the forums trying to figure out why GWF abilities in general suck so much, i've had a GWF since prelaunch (actually cb3) I have in i think every post said that they need to remove target caps. Honestly i think alot of GWF are just tired of it, they made us HAMSTER when game went live (open beta) vs what everyone saw in cb3 and expected everyone to shut up and color. When that didn't work they gave us a HAMSTER and called it a steak saying we should be happy about our buff. Now they are slapping us in the face yet again with more nerfs to the least played least wanted class in the game. The entire class needs a **** rework at this point so they CAN go dps or CAN go tank, not this HAMSTER they are forcing us into. I do agree EVERY SINGLE daily a GWF needs to be reworked, but guess what, there is not one that needs a nerf not even slam, they all SUCK.

Certain things I personally thing should happen is make our bleed from destroyer stack remove target cap let slam crit (especially if they are going to ****stomp it with a nerf) make our spin draw mobs in, make that HAMSTER avalanche fire faster so its not killing our dps with downtime (and apply a slow while in the air) make the other dailies actually seem like a daily by doing massive damage like other classes or good damage + good utility. Make our skills worthwhile and have some **** synergy. I have played almost every other MMO out there (including most asian and european) and so far the devs here have not only shown they do not listen to their players (except the whiny pvp people who loose to those better geared) but do the EXACT OPPOSITE of what players want. This game had so much potential but because the devs are either inept, money hungry, or just plain morons they have take all the great things that they could have done and flushed it down the toilet. Ive watched entire guilds just quit because the direction (or lack thereof) the devs are trying to force people. Out of all the GWF on dragon server I can count less than 30 that are from launch, even the ones that i have met after that most of them have quit, yes the game is getting new players, but it looses almost as many as it gains. Players (or rather humans in general) want to be able to have some **** choices in their characters ESPECIALLY in a D&D setting (yes ive played 4E and you can still have a lot of choices) People also want to be able to feel useful (for the same amount of effort as another puts in) and GWF do NOT accomplish that in any way shape or form. As I've said before STOP dicking around the **** class because you "think" the game should go in a direction and make the class good for how the game runs NOW. After that and ONLY after that you can screw with the GAME FIRST then the classes to suit how you have changed the game.

You have good ideas, and they deserve their own separate threads. And that's part of what I am saying. All the complaints, or all the ideas/suggestions, often come out in threads like this and get lost in between all this hysteria.
I am not saying Devs will read every thread, or even if they do that they would take it seriously and do anything about it. But I personally feel that we would get better results if as a GWF forum community we get more proactive and put out all the issues out there constantly.
Hec I think our first issue is not having our own separate Forum! To me that's the biggest slap in the face.
Check out my personal Nerf Proof T2 Thaumaturge Build.

Um yes I saw GWFs are getting a deflect nerf and some dps cuts.
so one time out of 50 they might get hit of course they probably
also have massive amounts of defence, armour and regeneration
not to mention a self heal.

however this "Nerf" is also giving you an interrupt and a nice enemy de-buff
as well as a few other things that will probably increase soloing capability.
that will probably make GWFs more scary in PVP and more desirable to have on a team.

do you just want to make rogues feel better about themselves?
or are you so obsessed with getting to the top of that dps chart that actual
USEFUL effects that will be a boon to people who use strategy and
don't button mash don't impress you?

Or did you just hear someone yell nerf and decided to grab a pitchfork?
People who are complaining about the GWF changes should research
a bit more because you don't want the devs to go, hmm guess the gwfs
don't WANT to be useful in t2 dungeons. they just want that dps/dodge.

How is a lame interrupt that doesn't work on bosses help u get on PvE teams? -15% dmg debuff on 5 targets max? Please, bring an extra DC if utility is what you want.

Our main dps daily is getting a nerf, unstopabble is to, so is deflect. This class is all over the place with no clear role. WTH is a GWF supposed to be? I sure as hell didn't make one for *utility*

You're right, still my point stands, this class has no value or role on PvE which this is what this game is. That's my biggest issue WTF are GWFs supposed to be? NO CLEAR ROLE and getting worse.

And to all rogues coming to laugh here, u guys got several weeks to cry&cry so nerfs would get nerfed. All the rest just got 6 days, not enough time to change anything.

Vrt to you play endgame? do you play with a guild? I have yet to EVER see anyone complain that they wish the GWF was more tanky. Your comment of should a GWF top the damage charts? HELL YES!! give me one reason an AOE damage dealer is loosing out to a SINGLE TARGET damage dealer in overall damage. Simple numbers, if math is not your strong point, say a GWF hitting 5 targets entire time in dungeon pumps out 20 million overall damage, now a TR hits 20 million in overall damage that means the GWF is doing 1/5 the damage of the TR . I DO NOT WANT THE TR NERFED. I want GWF BUFFED to be usefull. If you dont want to bring 2+ GWF to a group then guess what THEY ARE NOT IN THE SAME LEAGUE AS OTHER CLASSES!!!!!!! you WANT 2 dc you WANT 2 CW you WANT 2 TR you do NOT WANT A SINGLE GWF.know why? think you understand the game? ITS DPS AND OR UTILITY!!!! the interrupt is useless except in PVP ... for an 80% nerf to a skill to have fluff attached to it its more than a slap in the face. ITS BEING FORCE FED A HAMSTER. Also, name another class that has to just get smacked around the entire time. think of one? I cant, GWF NEED the deflect, they have no choice but to take it, unlike EVERY OTHER CLASS IN THE GAME,CW port TR roll DC dash GF shield, and if you want to do decent dps with a GWF you have to burn your stamina to do it. (i still think this is a bug)

Now on to your other part. I have never and will NEVER talk about PVP for classes, i don't care about it, i believe its HAMSTER in this game, and it was beyond a pathetic attempt at implementation. To sum it up I DON'T GIVE A HAMSTER ABOUT PVP. I talk about PVE and that is the part that GWF are lacking. Know what nerfing the most underused class doesn't do? It doesn't make people want to play it. You might complain about any other class getting nerfed but guess what, from implementation up and through this patch not a single other class can say they have received as much of a nerf as GWF. remember all skills got nerfed 60% already, that makes this skill since implementation of the class the MOST NERFED SKILL IN THE GAME. 60% nerf going live + 80 % nerf for HAMSTER patch. If they added the fluff without HAMSTER the skill into the ground i *might* say it was decent, as is its HAMSTER.

GWF are a DPS class first TANK second, they dont do the DPS they should PERIOD. nerfing them giving them fluff, trying to make them a complete support class is like trying to make a TR a healer. It is not want the players want, not how D&D 4e is written and quite frankly has pissed most GWF off to the point they just left.

Dude to be honest the meta will change thanks to new items coming new skills content ect ect... every class will change some will be nerfed down others will not be you cant get worked up over such silly things yes the PvE people will cry but PvE is so broken in this game not even funny.

Best line in the thread. GWF is nothing at this point. Cryptic really needs to sit down and think long and hard about what this class is supposed to do. They're all over the place and this latest patch is just going to sideline them more (in PvE at least). And for the record, I do not play a GWF.

Hey All,

Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback here! Our goal is to make all the classes viable and fun to play, so please keep in mind that all changes are made with that goal in mind. Additional, remember that player feedback is extremely important to us, though we do our own testing as well. After reading feedback that players post, we do controlled tests to ensure that any balance changes made do in fact improve the experience of playing any particular class. Our designers are active players in both PVP and PVE.

These changes will be available for you to check on on NeverwinterPreview soon. I encourage you to check them out! Reading the changes in Patch Notes is valuable, though trying them out on the Preview shard and seeing how they feel is the best way to evaluate whether or not the changes compliment your play style.

I personally think if players' feedback was so important to the designers, then some of these major changes should have been discussed beforehand with the playerbase. Then based on said feedback and outcomes of controlled tests, final decisions would be made. While I am not really complaining about the specifics of these changes, I honestly do not see anything in them that was a result of player feedback. In fact, almost every complaint or issue that was discussed in this forum over the last few months didn't get addressed. Scratch that, at least they are finally fixing the Unstoppable bug, however sad it is that it needed to be dragged this long.
Check out my personal Nerf Proof T2 Thaumaturge Build.

R.I.P. My Lvl 60 Sentinel GWF, I will probably respec back to Destroyer and use him as a mule, crafter, and AD generator and never play him again. It was at least fun for the time it lasted, if the Nerfs weren't So Hard I would deal with it but seeing and trying the Nerfs out on preview I hate them especially the deflect nerfs, couple that devastator of a nerf with a hard nerf to slam and a hard nerf to unstoppable I don't feel GWF will be fun at all anymore so..........

R.I.P. to my Sentinel GWF!

Your deflection is only taking a hit by 12% your still in the 44-48%deflection range man its not a significant nerf not to get rid of sentinel that's for sure i swear people making something out of nothing.Well not in pvp any way

Why do you assume ALL GWFS have the capped 60% deflection?. I build a High damage sentinel GWF with no Tene enchants. So I sacrifice deflection for damage stats. Most of my deflection comes from Bravery and Weapon Master. This nerf will make me squishy as all hell with no where near the damage potential to make up for it. It is destroyer all the way now.

The guy is not talking about a dps GWF you twit he talking about sentinel witch is the current PvP meta with the class well for any organized team. 12% deflection lost is not a problem for them any way move along now. Any way most of my post are in regards to PvP

While I am very glad that my thread has got a reply from Cryptic, would it be possible to get some feedback as to why the Devs feel these changes should be were made. Currently for PvE endgame GWFs are the least wanted class, and the proposed changes will just make this worse.

So with these changes, do we get a free respec for each of our characters?

No-one can say for certain now, unless a Dev responds. However with any luck, the changes will be reconsidered so that this is not an issue.

If the changes go through, a respec would be warranted since I can see many Sentinels deciding to switch over to Destroyer.

devs should rework dungeon boss and adds first
TRs damage are so high at PVE and PVP bec their armor gives high ArPen
defence stats is limited too (adding defense on con for example might help controlling adds and prevent 1 hit KO at PVP)
and clerics heal is too low (HP potion > DC heal) the area is also limited

Reading the changes in Patch Notes is valuable, though trying them out on the Preview shard and seeing how they feel is the best way to evaluate whether or not the changes compliment your play style.

Here is the information for the Preview shard for those interested:

Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!

This is a trolling reply right? Because you say you listened to players feedback and nerfed Slam to a total useless daily, now it does even more aggro! Just tell us we are a dead class already, at least we can leave this game for good. Unbelievable...

Well leveling is quite fun. Endgame, especially for a GWF, is less so....

GWF at lv 60 .. easliy spent well over a grand just to make the toon some what usefull and wanted in T2 dungeons to have a nerf on an already under powered pve class .. like selling a car and when it comes into service ripping the motter out and expecting us to flintstone the thing home .. great job..

What did you spend a grand on? I thought there was a post where they calculated that even spending a couple of hundred dollars would make a almost invincible toon.
