What did you spend a grand on? I thought there was a post where they calculated that even spending a couple of hundred dollars would make a almost invincible toon.
I'd actually like to hear this myself. At most around $100 would be enough to stack yourself enough that you could make significant AD daily to get the rest yourself. I made the majority of my character through hard work, splurging a small amount so I could get one enchant and then have saved up the rest since then. Why anyone would pay more than $60 for a game is beyond me, that's the average price for a game, so if you keep yourself to there, I'd say it's a reasonable investment. Anything more than that's just getting sad, and I didn't even spend nearly that much.
Fact - Slam has a target cap of 5.
Fact - Avalanche has no target cap.
Using slam is easy and brainless that is why so many folks run it. Fire and forget. Folks that want to depend on slam are gimping themselves.
Slam is nothing more than a threat generator. 12 seconds for full completion of a daily pretty much tells you it is a utility and not for damage. A great use is in Spell Plague when the GWF goes over and helps the TR damage the boss. 12 seconds of "agro to me" instead of the TR.
Avalanche takes some consideration. Like where to land to set up a NSF/IBS and/or Roar and repeat. A prime example is as follows;
I play an instigating role. I charge in and aggro one or two groups of mobs. Once they start running towards me and clustering I hit superman and become immune. While I am in the air the CW drops a singularity on the now massive group of mobs. I land knocking most everything prone before his singularity is finished and use NSF/IBS/Roar combination and fill my AP and back in the air I go. Slam takes a minimum of 12 seconds before you can use it again. No such constraint on Avalanche.
Still waiting on that screen cap of you SICK DPS, brah. Hhaahahaha. You still need to prove you're pulling these numbers you're claiming over like a million posts. What happened to that screenshot you were asked to do days ago of your 1st place DPS, hmmm? I did a quick spider run yesterday to help out a friend and ended with over 12 million damage. Hint, I did not use Avalanche. In PvP I saw some fool trying to use it yesterday, wish I took a vid. We were crushing their premade POS team, they tried to cap 2 in desperation for some reason even though we had their point, stupid GWF pulls Avalanche while I'm there with the DC. I tell the DC to move back, she does. I move to the very edge of the AOE at the right point, he hits the ground, nothing. I run in and kill his ***. I hope it was you so it rubs it in more. Rub that salt in there boy, feel the pain, I will end you, time and time again.

You are one loud mouth and arrogant prick. Thanks for the laugh though.
Also thanks for the 12mil low mark. Will be running it today.

Screencap your DPS, let's see these incredible Avalanche numbers. Considering we didn't do a full spider run, killing everything in sight, and the CW dumped most of the adds off of ledges, that DPS is actually quite difficult to beat without rank 10s.
Thanks for taking the time to post your feedback here! Our goal is to make all the classes viable and fun to play, so please keep in mind that all changes are made with that goal in mind. Additional, remember that player feedback is extremely important to us, though we do our own testing as well. After reading feedback that players post, we do controlled tests to ensure that any balance changes made do in fact improve the experience of playing any particular class. Our designers are active players in both PVP and PVE.
These changes will be available for you to check on on NeverwinterPreview soon. I encourage you to check them out! Reading the changes in Patch Notes is valuable, though trying them out on the Preview shard and seeing how they feel is the best way to evaluate whether or not the changes compliment your play style.
Here is the information for the Preview shard for those interested:
Thanks for taking the time to share your thoughts!
If it was important then maybe you should have a discussion with your players, you know the ones that play the class, the only time Devs like you post is when either
A. you screwed something up so bad the entire community is ranting about how HAMSTER you are
B. you want to announce something else we can spend money on
Have some **** class leads, people that understand how the class is played and why they are viewed a certain way. TALK WITH THEM. Other more successful games do this for a reason.
After seeing how you have treated your players this is extremely doubtful to many of us, PROVE US WRONG. The vast majority of the players feel that you have no clue what you are doing, you have no clear point you want to get to and instead you putter along destroying what the players want out of the class in this vague sense of "well we might possibly think the class should be this... maybe....." Give us a direction of what you want GWF to be we can help you achieve that, there are a lot of people who want the game to succeed and have fantastic ideas, so far the vast majority seem light years better than anything your team can come up with.
Use some of the **** ideas that you have a plethora of floating around on your **** forums from people that seem to understand the classes and other players in general a hell of a lot better than what you seem to. BUFF the class to the point where people WANT more than one in a group instead of taking a class that NO ONE wants in groups and Nerfing them to the point where people don't even want to hear you mention it in a group. Listen to your **** players and not your pocketbooks because guess what, if you make them happy they will spend money, if you HAMSTER us all off then we will just leave and never waste a dime.

So now all GWF dailies are ****.
And Lurker's Assault original nerf was "too much". What a joke.

My gwf has two sets of gears with almost maxed out enchants being invincible when a toon is weak to begin with and having no actual roll i decided to use our abiltiy to take our two jack trades of dps and tanking and maximise each one to change gear and skills as its needed in dungeons or pvp depending on the opponents but even becoming dependant on one leaves us lacking the other .. the tank build had a decent move with slam and a perfect lifedrinker enchant on weapon but now the damage reduction will halt up the regeneration process some .. everything was respeced to account for our misgiving only to have more appear

Then how come not a few hour after posting that you want to make the class fun, you guys propose another huge nerf to the self-healing of Unstoppable?
Unstoppable: Several odd cases have been addressed that sometimes caused Unstoppable to be toggled on until the player switched maps.
Unstoppable: This ability has proven to live up to its name a little too well as of late. In both PvE and PvP it's adding a bit too much survivability for how often it can be used.
To help address this, the temporary health from Unstoppable now stacks with other sources of temp health, and is consumed first, but goes away when Unstoppable ends.
This means that the temp health granted by Unstoppable will no longer stick around after it ends, making it easier to build further Determination from the remaining temp health.
Unstoppable: The tooltip has been updated to correctly state that it grants 8-16% temp health (based on Determination). This is not a change in the actual temp health granted by the power.
Weaponmaster's strike no longer place a long-lasting visual effect on targets. The visual now lasts .5s and has been supplemented by a "splat" to let players know the effect is still active.
Slam: Now builds twice as much threat to enemies.
The tweak to WMS is nice, so is Slam building more threat (although less damage sucks), but selfhealing is important to the class. When Unstoppable we also benefit less from healing and regeneration (based on % missing health), so when you take that health away, we end up a bloody pile beneath the mobs instantly.

Fair enough, to be honest if I had a lot of money to blow I'd probably save myself all the DD running time and energy and waste nuubs by getting rank 10s within 10 minutes haahaha.

You are kidding me.
Did they just announce even more nerfs for the GWF or have I (hopefully) misunderstood something very badly?
Nope, they just made the class 'more fun to play for everyone' by hitting it with another huge nerf.
