Resetting explorer and installing java, shockwave and flash seems to have worked for me
EDIT: Well it shows the title page anyway, but clicking the login button does nothing at all.
Try going into internet explorer and deleting history (cookies, etc) I found out last night this fixes a lot of the issues. No idea why.

none of this works for me on win 8... this is just plain stupid. Not able to log in for two days?! WTF kinda launch is this? Still Unable to connect to patch server and if you skip it and try to login through the game client you just get stuck at connecting.
The fact that it just will not see YOUR patch or game server means the problem is with YOUR server.... not our stuff... I can connect to any other games patch server and ping it with no problems whatsoever..
This is very weird. Such a simple thing as a launcher is making this unplayable! On one computer I got it running, but I need it on another computer and cant get it working. Why oh why would you want to make anything depend on Internet Explorer? I never use it and now I have to try all kind of stuff. Please just rewrite the launcher asap. The game itself is so good, but the launcher seems to be made by someone with no skills whatsover.
please solve this problem (login server internal error) so i can enjoy the game please help me and please check for other problems too.......

this is insanely unfair that some people can play the game while others of us are getting crapped on.... take it all down and fix the game! we should be priority #1. Fix your login server please!

I cant play the game either! - It wont authenticate!
I've tried:
- EU/US proxy
- flushing my DNS
- rebooting my router
- opened ports mentioned in a help forum thread.
- running the game as admin.
- running the client directly (ie. without launcher)
- changing my password on the website.
- allowing the game to pass through Windows Firewall - played fine before without allowing it.
- force verifying files.
This is so weird ... I have played the game untill 1 hour.. took a break, tried to start the launcher, but now it stays minimized, and I can not maximize it, to type my pass and enter the game .. I tried Troubleshooting, running as administrator and several other triks I know, but nothing works .. in processess it says its working, not - not responding.
if the launcher doesn't display at all but sits in the task bar, it's possible the window position registry key (HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\Cryptic Launcher WindowPos) became corrupted. Deleting that key (forcing it to be recreated on next launch)
This worked for me.. I updated Java, Shockwave, and Flash.. No change. Did this edit and worked like a champ!

-I have been playing pretty ok in this computer yesterday. But today, when i double click in "neverwinter" shortcut nothing appears, it looks like its running because i have the "red N icon" in my taskbard, but nothing works. i tried alt tab, click on the icon, etc... but the game doesnt run.

I feel obliged to answer for all the gamers out there as I have been trying to figure it out for the past 12hrs by using and applying all the methods mentioned in the forums.
In order to go to the folder abovementioned, access registry edit by either;
1. Going to "Start" and typing "regedit" (without the " btw) at the Search field
OR
2. Using the 'Run program' console by pressing the Windows key + R and typing "regedit"
Then go to the folder path HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Cryptic\Cryptic Launcher and deleting the "WindoPos" file.
The launcher should create a new file and position the launcher squarely in the middle of your screen.
maybe I've missed something, but what if you get the oops oops after you log in, play for a while (sometimes not a while lol)? Also once it happens, it's guaranteed to do it again shortly after logging in unless I reset and hope the next time is one of those "for a while" ones
When i press log in it says unable to authenticate on all accounts.

So I also have the unable to authenticate on my launcher, and I was in game and changing characters when I got kicked to login screen just before this message came up, so I thought I was hacked and changed my password. better to be safe!
i have same problem ... but i am too lazy to search for solution because it is same to me if i play this game or not.
Price of Zen is sinking, pugs can loot ancient rings and neck from CN in 5 min run, u have less then 10 good DCs and CWs on servers etc... in short game is dying and that is PW fault.
the neverwinter log in screen wont even appear the .exe doesnt do anything just sits there while i wait -.- how do i get the long in window to actually open rather then sit at the bottom of my task bar?

jeej, today's update killed the content of the launcher window "nicely"
a nice white window, and after at most 10 seconds it crashes.
the old winXP, 32bit machine only suffers of the empty NPC windows, the new win8 64bit machine just crashes... without an error report or anything

And the same problem here. This happened to me just after I patched after the maintenance this morning. I hit Play but the servers weren't up yet so I escaped out of the game, and now I can't get the launcher to launch to save my life. I have reinstalled the game several times now, not to mention rebooting the machine, cleaning the registry and reinstalling, etc., etc.... I want to play so badly, but I haven't a clue how to get in. There I sit with an "N" in my system tray and "Neverwinter" in my task bar doing nothing. Please, help.

yay, I've to quote myself....
the XP machine works well after the keyboard change....
the windows8 machine had developed some nasty skills in loosing his memory, aka has to get off for repairs....
(which wiz has fumbled his memory leak spell?)
