I really hope they will bring gateway up soon, as a guild Officer I control the inactive accounts from gateway in order to keep free spots in our guild and contact/unguild long inactive ones. I cannot do it know and being 150/150 full accounts atm has caused various issues over the weekend, having people waiting in queue because I am unable to check accounts activity. Those data can be found easily only in the gateway as far as I know and are a significant part of every guild's daily organisation.
I've always just opened the guild page, clicked roster, click show offline players the set (not sure what its name is) tab that says member comments to status to see when the last time they logged in was.
I guess they can't or won't resurrect the gateway without a total restart (i.e. maintenance). And a maintenance window without knowing the cause of the downtime might not be an option. So I guess we won't see the gateway at least until Thursday. The possibly "good thing" of this downtime might have been that the not existing botters had no opportunity to lead the refinement market in their direction. Only hand-work was possible, making it a true player experience.
Has anyone considered the impact the lack of gateway access (browser-based game access) might have had on this high volume trade weekend?

It appears that "really" communication is to much to expect. Put in ticket and got back "sorry for inconvinence" but, no actual time to fix or why it's (gateway) down.
My guess is they are taking away more things you get doing the sword coast adventures. Within the last six months it seems like any changes are made to give you less so you have to spend more actual money. So, we may be loyal to them but, not so much from them...

of course im sure the gateway isnt the only automation; im pointing out that some people thinking or saying one more time that its remedy against bots are wrong. Just like invoking. It only hurts the "true players".

No, this is Cryptic going "**** it, it's the weekend, and Monday's a holiday, and we'll probably be busy on Tuesday because of the four day weekend, and our liason with the community is off officially **** around not liason-ing with the community, and surely it counts as official interaction from us if one of our volunteers heard from a guy that heard from a guy that allegedly said we don't give a **** and the players can just wait until it damn well pleases us. And it's a damn good thing that guy didn't actually show up and do his actual job on the forums or we would have fired him. We are very pleased he dicked around on the PvP forums instead of addressing how the gateway, and now the auction house, have gone non-functional for prolonged periods of time, and will probably give him a raise. That's how you run a gaming company."

No one is asking for a detailed RCA here - we just want to see that Cryptic is has acknowledged the problem, know whether it was an unexpected failure or if they took it down on purpose, and when we can expect it to be back online.
