Because it SHOULDN'T help non DPS classes... because the OTHER sets should have that function... because a mixture of "nerfing" = FIXING it and "buffing" = FIXING the other sets is the way...
puuh..while in pvp you need something the whole pvp in this game is a joke...so it needs rebalance. and listen to your self how wrong is this "If you completely nerf the mechanic of the ELOL set due to the complaint of GWFs, what Is there left to do with the class itself?" means its balanced ???haha do you think that those who wants elol set fixed means that thats all is needed for making all things balanced ??+ no its just one step. its still broke and you and others have proven how broken it is just like basic balance measures in this game

I have faith in you >.> Oh then if should be use only by dps classes then devs pls make the set usable only by the classes that have as main abilitys scores only strenght and dexterity ...wth healers should pay a dps class to do theyr daily and what about those bosses whit millions of hp like SH dragons where small and medium guilds they barely take down few dragons maybe devs should reduce amount of stats that rank 12 enchants give to stats maybe or why "everyone"ask for nerfing one set and dont ask for buffing black ice set and imperial that no one of "elites" uses? Pls devs add a server just for pvp and you can nerf and buff there every week as they like

john its your own choice how much you pay and play this is their game and rules but now we know why so many defend the broken set its "ME MY money and time" like a childs... its still a game and not our game accept the fact that they can change what they want.
Too many people have too much invested to nerf it. That would just be a huge middle finger to everyone that spent tens of millions of AD on this set. the answer is simple, buff the other sets.

Going by the same reasoning you guys are all doing, about GWF you should say
"GWF players invested too much in their GWFs. So, even if the damage is too much, leave them alone. They spent tons of time and/ or money on them so leave them as they are and buff other classes".
But, instead, you guys ask for nerfs. Basically, you are saying: eLoL set is unbalanced/ badly designed, but since we spent our time and money on it, please nerf GWFs instead, based on the damage they pull out with eLoL set. Cause it's more convenient for you.
As long as eLoL set damage is based on weapon damage, GWFs will get more from it. And if you nerf GWFs to be in line with other classes keeping eLoL set into account, a GWF without it would be underpowered.
Also: reworking the set does not mean necessarily to "nerf it". Just change the way it works. For example, make it work unlinked from buffs and weapon damage, normalizing it so that on every class you get the same amount of DPS boost. I think that, as usual, this community is quite short-sighted and selfish.

There are 2 ends of the spectrum here pando, there is GWF, which people say gets too much from the set and then there is CW. CW gets more from the set then GWF in most cases % wise, but nobody is complaining a fully specced dps CW with the elol set is OP (I am referring to an SS thaum build), rather, CW's are called balanced. Not take away 40% of a balanced classes dps, you just destroyed the classes viability. How long does class balance take? How long as the SW gone without adjustment, how long did it take to get storm spell adjusted? How long will it take to get the CW FIXED once such a change is made (since it would be a fix, once they do less damage then every class except paladin). It would probably take as long as its taking all those other classes to be adjusted....you know....3/4 mods.
