Tanks/GFs acting this way is not down to the class but the people playing them sadly. I too see far too many GF players circling around dragons try to dodge it's attacks for some reason and having no clue that they r making it harder for rest of people by making them constantly move or get hit by tail swipes and breath attacks.
I did that often myself and do you know why? Because no one cared to heal me and my tank is not an invincible 18k+ GS monster.

Nor is mine, and I am happy to (enhanced) mark the dragon and tank it. I am obviously a cheat, as I block the larger attacks, and periodically use Fighter's Recovery to self heal. Oh, for shame- clearly I should be doing it naked, spamming FLS.

And now do that with a ton of adds that get carried in by others while you keep staying in every single of the Dragons attacks like the breath weapon and the stuff on the ground, since you cannot move.
And you might want to do a video of you tanking a dragon naked withhout moving and getting healed because i want to learn.
The lag is gonna be Gargantuan, that's for sure. Can you imagine 10 Icy Terrains (A spell known to cause lag) firing off. It will be a lag fest, not to mention the processing power all the Pyrotechnics ,from so many players using spells and abilities, will require. My mind hurts ,just thinking about it.

The lag during some dragon fights is already something else. Really nice when you get hit with a massive spike and the red patch just never quite made it to "visible". They need to fix this before they even consider a 25 man raid.

totaly agree..else those with low spec PC player gonna miss out on the offhand artifact and the gameplay with that dungeon..

Protip, if you dodge left to avoid a breath attack. Make your next dodge go right. And you can then dodge AND not spin the silly lizard around like a top.

Yes, this.
I also wish the dragon tanks here would realize that the only way that DCs can reliably get Great Success is by healing, and DCs have a hard time healing you if you are spinning the dragon around everywhere. Plus you spinning the dragon around means the DCs and others get knocked around by the dragon tail.
I really hate the dragon spinning, I wish people would stop doing that.

Do people really need to be told this? I thought it was common sense?

Well, he was talking about not moving. And "dodging" - in term of moving away from the spot where a hit lands - counts as moving in my opinion.
At first i wantet to mention that those fancy DPSers could just place themselves better. But for some reason i tought, he would not accept it anyways. Because its the tanks vault. Or the healers. Always.
Seriously they do need to be told I fear Now I agree not all GFs can block the damage of breath and other red attacks especially when there is no healer there, but so many take it even further than that and constantly try and attack from the side of it when they have aggro, which results in the dragon constantly turning into people making everyone have to move or get hit by tail etc...complete tanking fail. Like said above if you need to dodge a breath attack just move to the left/right then back to your original position...Also there is nothing wrong with when there are no healers around with blocking as much as possible and using things like Fighter's Recovery as that is much better tanking than trying to dodge all it's attacks.
Back on topic tho...anyone tried this fight yet to see how much skill and tactics are actually needed? I'm hoping the devs went with the same idea behind the latest skirmish and dungeon boss fights where it was more about tactics, reaction times and teamwork rather than a ton of adds a CW deals with and everyone just thinking about damage.

I have noticed people from the legit-channel who actually played it on the testserver talking about it yesterday. Let's say, it did sound like a Cryptic-feature: Good intention and concept, badly implemented.
Or, i forgot the name who said it: a "failed worldboss".

Well, since the tank's job in most MMO is typically to keep the aggro and control the boss so that the dpsers can attack the boss with minimum risk in order to kill it faster, if the tank turn the boss round and round like a merry-go-round that kind of defeats the purpose of that role. As for blaming healers, unless its blatantly obvious that the healer was being simply idiotic or neglectful, its usually the other person's fault :P.

Never died in epic LLM (LoL) on my gf ( beside one massive lag i encountred), from first run i did know what i should do ( tho i did many runs on other of my toons), dc or templock, or no heal on my back at all i WONT DIE. Im not so, self-called, elite. I just know my toons. Thats all. Tanking both scorps w/o dc/templock no problem for me, tanking draco? LoL, its even much easier.
My point?
HAMSTER always will be HAMSTER, they never lisen to more experienced players, they never rethink what they r doing. PPL WHICH R NOT WILLING TO LEARN DONT DESERVE OUR ATTENTION, leave them be, alone, crying how bad this game is ( and it is in some terms, but not in terms they think it is). "Dont tell me how to play my toon, its my playstyle, my choose". Well, if ur playstyle have bad affection on team, its also my problem then, and u r an idiot.
New outcoming raid wont be a problem for members of legit community ( ofc im speaking here for myself, but i think many other members would agree). Pug's will have a big problem, hope some1 will be recording they effords.
PS: u guis r on offtopic, mods will enter here with they heavy, dirty ( coz they working hard ofc, that why clothers get dirty) boots soon.

Valindra's Tower was an epitome in this game, it was definitely one of the most interesting and fun dungeon we had. The boss was really, really nice, it didn't required an awesome gear but some teamwork and knowing the mechanics were mandatory. Tiamat is just a dps race. It has a crapton of hitpoints but you're basically spamming dps encounters until it dies, and move between phases. If you die it's not even an issue, the game hands you out a cookie and you're good to go, back to the fight as if nothing happened.

My GF is now around 15k? He has very high deflection and not so many hitpoints as people usually like to see. Just a Knight Captain set. I don't have any other complete sets to switch out for with him. He can tank a dragon without needing a competent cleric on the scene, just needs more potions than if one was there. Tactician build, so Fighter's Recovery/Anvil is pretty much a lifesaver. Fortunately it's usually up as often as I need it, and potions are off cooldown when it isn't. I really only struggle on him when other GFs are using more threat-generating features than he is while attacking the dragon's backside.
I love being the only GF on a dragon fight though. I really do.
I have also proven to be able to "tank" a dragon with my HR and CW, using the side-to-side technique. Once you've grabbed aggro with a squishy, you cannot break your concentration or pattern of movement, but you absolutely can keep the dragon pointed within about 30 degrees.

Yes! Yes, people seriously need to be told this, and as often and loudly as possible.
