Dose not matter 7 out of the 9 feats deal or boost dps 3 of them boost puppet DPS and when the puppet can curse some one that's a dps increase thanks to the dot. The capstone Buffs the puppet cause every 15 seconds you would deal dmg you summon a soul puppet there can only be one in your control at a time so instead of summoning a second puppet it gets a 20% dmg buff also the capstone summons more puppets when you kill warlocks cursed targets buffing your single puppet again over and over the buff stack maxes out at 5 but you get the picture the capstone feat boost puppet dps and will keep the buff up permanently also.
Wrathful souls Boost the puppets Auto attack dmg bye 100%. Parting Blasphemy will also deal dmg 6% of you weapon dmg when ever a curse is removed. Ghastly commander Boost your DPS Power of the nine hells lets allies get 50% of the dps boost provided by piller of power and Relentless will press a lesser curse when ever a cursed target dies dealing DoT.
"On hit every 15 seconds" does not trigger until the puppet has been killed. Also there is no mention anywhere of the puppet getting a damage increase from it nor did I notice one.

Face-palm that's how the capstone works omg lord almighty Instead of a soul puppet getting summoned the capstone will buff it instead the buff stack a max of 5 times if you read my guide on SW you would know this. Ok this tell me you just don't understand the soul puppets mechanics in general.

I've used soul desecration and the "buff" does not leave the status effect bar until I let the puppet die and then hit a mob. Do you have an evidence it gets a damage buff? Until you do I'm going to assume you are posting bull**** hoping I haven't actually made a SW with damnation and wont be able to call you out.
Scratch the last part. I just reread the soul puppet description.

Sigh there is a marker next to your name when ever a soul puppet spawn its golden that's not soul desecration that's soul puppet every 15 second soul desecration will apprea and when you do dmg it will try and summon a soul puppet But sence you already have one instead the soul puppet you already have out will recive a dmg buff that stacks up to 5 times for a max of 100% extra dmg. If you read you power description on the soul puppet mechanic in game you will get the prof you need this mechanic is the reason the soul puppet can do over 1k dmg per hit.

2 increase damage. 3 if you include parting blasphemy. I don't know what tree you are looking at. Unless you are including the feats that spread the curse as a damage increase. And in that case you are grasping at straws pretty hard.
"Grasping straws" I guess people who've never understood mmo's can think that I was "grasping straws". Seeing as you're obviously new to them, I'll explain something to you.
INCREASING YOU/YOUR ALLIES' DAMAGE, OR DECREASING ENEMIES' DEFENSE INCREASES DPS. I mean, an experienced player would get that, but I guess you needed that explained to you.
Let me give a few examples:
Ray of Enfeeblement: you really didn't think it was a cw mainstay cuz of its base damage I hope?
Divine Glow: DC debuff. Buffs party members in its aoe if used in divinity.
Knight's Challenge: does no damage initially, but DOUBLES DAMAGE done to target while active.
Thorn Ward: deals small damage, but each hit decreases the targets' defense.
If you haven't gotten the picture by now, I don't think mmo's are your thing. Straight up doing more damage ISNT the only factor that leads to dps. EVERY class has some way to increase their damage through their powers/feats.
Now, let's look at the Scourge Warlock, shall we?
Parting Blasphemy: straight up damage when curse is removed.
Relentless Curse: curse jumps to nearby target upon cursed enemies' death. A defense debuff that jumps to other targets? Doesn't sound very dps-y to me .
Power of the Nine Hells: increasing the up time of a dmg buff increases damage, does it not?
Burning Puppets: soul puppet has a 25% chance to place a curse. What happens when a Warlock attacks/uses certain powers on cursed targets?
Ghastly Commander: 10% damage buff while soul puppet is active.
Wrathfully Souls: soul puppet deals 100% more damage while it's out.
And I'm not even including the feat that assures the puppet's 100 % active time. If you haven't figured it out by now, dps is not entirely conducted by power alone. If you haven't figured out why you can do massive damage when you're in a party with 3 CWs running High Vizier set, or a GF who uses Knight's Captain set, or a DC who uses High Prophet set, I really don't know what to tell you at this point.
I hear "learn to play" all the time, but it seems to me that it should be defined as "my class is balanced, except when others beat it, then THAT class is OP"...

Lesser curse only applies a weak dot. The curse does not lower defense or increase damage outside of it. The only effect the curse can give a party with damnation is a heal with the feat for it.
Yup because the tree with 2 life steal feats, a heal feat, and a damage reduction feat is not a defensive tree.
You've also completely avoided the main issue that it is clearly only good for soloing and not worth using for pvp or group pve which was the initial complaint. You've spent the last few pages nitpicking at the fact I called it a defensive tree.

It applies a weak DoT, true, but your SW powers still get their empowered effects from lesser curse marked targets. And last time I knew, stronger powers = more damage, does it not? Not to mention that a lesser curse applying its DoT is constant damage while it's marked.

So we've spent the last few pages nitpicking over the fact I mention damnation being a defensive tree once and I'm tired of it. How about we go back to the main issue of it being the weakest tree outshone but fury for pvp and temptation for pve.

No i have pvp extensively with this tree i have even written a second guide about damnation warlocks in PvP I would not even be arguing the viability of Puppets in pvp had i not have played the class and i would never have written the guide with out hands on experience.

The last several pages have been nothing but nitpicking. The thread was also about an obvious bug and there was really nothing to discuss.

Unless you are going to say it's better than fury or just as good this really has no relevance. And given the fact you are giving up dps for a little defense that will not help you survive the CC I don't see how you could.

It is better then Fury at PvP because you dont have to micromanage its capstone Fury capstone is clunky you need to first Warlocks curse a target then hit it with a larg stream of necrotic dmg. Fury spec is also pigeon toed into using dread theft to get this dmg Damnation warlocks aren't the fury capstone also pigeon toed cause it requires heavy use of its tab skill and in fast passe PvP that's a hassle especially against geard premade teams.

So it's better if you are lazy. Ok.
I wont argue damnation isn't the best for lazy people considering how passive it is but it will be outshone by temptation and fury if people put effort in.

Let me write it Out clearly so you understand If you try to stop and set up creeping death in a fast passed PvP game you will get CCed the cast even though its fast is still to long and it bugs out you mite get away with it i a pug match but not in high end pvp. This is why Temptation and Damnation Out shine Fury for PvP there capstones do not require such a set up and micromanagement as a Fury warlock.
Fury warlocks are pigeon held into using dread theft and warlocks bargain and Killing flames Dread is the best necrotic dmg skill you can proc the capstone with its also the most clunky skill and easily to interrupt.

But damnation's worse because it gives DEFENSIVE/SURVIVABILITY OPTIONS IN PVP, WHILE KEEPING SOME OFFENSIVE OPTIONS?! Okay.
I hear "learn to play" all the time, but it seems to me that it should be defined as "my class is balanced, except when others beat it, then THAT class is OP"...
The fury Capstone will only proc when a target has ben marked with your tab skill you then must cover this mark with warlocks bargain and quickly zap your target with dreadtheft to get the huge dmg increase problem is if the target is moving erratically you have no time to set this up you mite also be under heavy fire at the time this is why In PvP fury slows itself down and will under perform and i tryed to talk with devs that the capstone requires to much unnecessary preparation to be useful but it fell on def ears.

You most certainly cant go fury cuas its capstone is trash for PvP at least the puppet body blocks for you witch is what this thread was about in the first place people crying about the soul puppet cuase they wast there skills on it.

We know you can't follow a conversation. Fury WILL NOT reduce damage and you are giving up SURVIVABILITY IN PVP. Man, I guess players stack hp and tenacity in pvp because they offer MORE damage .

Yup you can't follow a converastion. SW has no way to deal with CC. Other classes do.
Unless of course you consider running away or praying by some fluke they target the puppet instead "dealing with CC".
Not sure, why are people whining about soul puppet? This was no surprise and if you ask me, they should give Warlocks the ability as a damnation to control the soul puppet (hell call it at will to). While I will admit, I do love the fact I can beat the **** out of a Rogue, GWF, and Guardian (with defensive gear), I do get my *** handed to me by CW due to the CC.
I' ll have a couple of builds up after, I hit end game and start getting in sets with bonuses.
I may not be considered by most the BEST PVP Warlock on the server but, I am the most HATED amongst them.
The Fury capstone feat is the whole reason the tree dose so much ****ing dmg with out its capstone is dose less dmg then a damnation warlock. The capstone in fury is nothing more the a huge FAT DoT proc the will deal 100% of the dmg used to proc it down in a DoT effect if you hit a warlocks cursed Target with 5k worth of necrotic dmg Creeping death Tick itself down in a DoT Until it dose 5k worth of dmg. With out that capstone the dmg fury Warlocks put out is halved and In pvp The game is just to fast paced to to be able to relie on it and utilize it to the fullest
