So you want to be rich in Neverwinter? Here's how I did it

Greetings fellow gamers! This thread will be short and sweet. Follow theses steps to begin hoarding your own pile of Gold, Astral Diamonds and Zen and to be able to do so without spending any of your hard-earned RL $$.

Step 1. Play Neverwinter, learn how it works, level main character to level 10.

Step 2. Learn about Professions, specifically Leadership, and how it works. Complete the several "Intro" Leadership missions that take anywhere from 5seconds to 15mins to complete.

Step 3. Complete the mission: Guard Duty (2HR) as often as you can until you level up to Leadership Level 4. Also around this time, you will reach Character Level 11 and obtain access to Invocation! use this every HOUR for a chance at additional ASTRAL DIAMONDS!!!

Step 4. Complete the mission: Protect the Caravan (2HR) as often as you can until you are Leadership level 15ish and have access to the mission: Collecting Taxes (8HR).

Step 5. Switch to your 2nd available character and level him/her to level 10. Repeat steps 1-4.

Step 6. Obtain enough AD via questing and professions to make your first ZEN PURCHASE!! You will be buying 2 ADDITIONAL CHARACTER SLOTS for 500 zen (387 AD per Zen at present time x 500 = 193,500 AD. ) This can be done in the Zen/AD exchange, which is accessible via one of the buttons at the top of your game screen (really, you should know this by now). This took me 3 days of playing the game and using gateway to keep professions active. Repeat Steps 1-4 with characters 3 & 4.

Step 7. Transfer all AD to the same character or simply store it all in the exchange itself for an easy withdraw from any character. (This can be done by making a Zen listing such as "Buy 1000 Zen @ 50 AD EA.". As nobody will sell ZEN so cheaply, you do not need to worry about your listing being filled. Cancel your listing, and the amount of AD that was used in the posting is returned to the EXCHANGE instead of to your character. This allows you to pool all AD quite easily.

I do not believe that this is an exploit of any kind, nor have I violated any rules or terms of service with my process. It is a 100% LEGIT way to start your journey towards being a Neverwinter Tycoon!

** Keep an eye out for 2x AD Weekends!!! The one we just had was like Christmas for me **
** Collect Taxes Mission - Send Hero - Double AD = :):) **

It just takes forever. And lots of logging in & out to manage the Protect Caravan projects and Invocation.

(And yeah, I know this because I've got six characters. Just doing leadership projects & invoking on those guys is enough of a pain.)

Oh, and you missed the rest of it. 1. those extra characters make good, cheap, storage space, and 2. Every seven days of Invoking, you get an enchant box that you can either sell, or open to see if you get a blue Ward. And sell that.

edit: although, now that they're hitting lv10 Leadership, I'm switching some of them over to leveling the crafting profs. Because I want to work on those two.

Make this into a leadership guide. This sucks as an AD making guide.

This sucks as AD making guide? Maybe you prefer playing the AH like most other people, and that is fine too. I'm sure there are tons of posts out there on this. The steps in this guide led me to around 500k AD this weekend, with minimal effort thanks to gateway. I am currently sitting at 11/11 characters, each above level 11, with enough ZEN to buy 2 more characters today. I will level them to 10 each tonight (via traditional solo questing NOT foundry), and have them ready for overnight missions. Thanks for your comment though.

Sounds extremely boring. I think I'd much rather play the AH and make even more AD that way instead. Except I find playing the AH boring too and I'd rather be "normal" and have fun playing the game than being rich but bored out of my mind. When you have to treat a video game like a job just to become rich, that's where I draw the line!

Here's a better idea, why don't I spend that time doing overtime at my real life job, then buy $40+ worth of Zen instead?

Don't forget to recommend the Gateway for your profession run. You may not have time to log in every hour for Invocation, but at least you can earn them via profession.
To grow old is inevitable, to grow up is optional.

So how much do you have AD now with this method?

To some, this appears like a lot of work. Again, with gateway, I spend roughly 10 mins setting missions, and then GO ABOUT MY BUSINESS! Working in the garden, running errands:) This is NOT boring, nor is it WORK of any kind, as you are still PLAYING THE GAME. Spend 10 mins each day setting professions, then log into your main and play for your 1-2 hour stint (assuming that's how most people do it).

The point of this is post is NOT to replace the game and turn it into a job. Hopefully you have a real job and do not want to come home and work, NOR DO YOU WANT TO SPEND REAL MONEY ON THE GAME.

Currently around 300k AD, but that is because I bought a Bag (1000 Zen) and 2 more char slots. Char # 12 & 13 getting created tonight!
Well over 2 mil AD total if you added everything up, since I started on day 1 of open beta.

Grinding 12 characters to make a crappy 24K AD a day a piece? Sounds like a horrible, boring way to play a game. You must enjoy the login screen.

I was thinking of something similar to this. I got my rogue to 16 and decided to retry, but left him after deleting a few other rolls.
Im at work now and noticed how much smoother the gateway is. I figure I set up some timers on my blackberry or something and get a proper hustle going. Just the lack of the invocations throws me off.
Worst worst case I can remote into my house and run the app and do it there.
I was forgetting totally about actually raising the extra char slot costs with Zen.
Paydays tomorrow and thats the 1 thing I was able to justify in my head.

Also of note during Skirmish events for Diamonds, you can do Blacklake District at lvl 6-11 WAY faster than orc assault.
I had a char at 6 just for this at first. with the double diamond weekend, i was getting 6-7 events an hour, 12-14k diamonds. not bad.

Myself 50K and I don't work at it as hard as herbtrader20 describes. One thing that he left out IMO is watch what you are spending AD on. If you are removing enchants everytime you get a new weapon, you are wasting the AD's. Use low level enchants for green or white gear and save the high level stuff for epic gear.

By your math at 50 characters @ 24k AD per day (not including invocation or 2x AD days) = 1.2 Mil AD per day. By logging into gateway and spending MAYBE 10 mins (can do all 11 current chars on gateway in under 5 mins).

Love it, hate it... I don't care. Story is, I have a lvl 60 main already, I have 10 Alts capable of farming me a fortune, and I enjoy playing the game and doing what I do. This post was intended to assist people who believe that you cannot be rich or have nice things in the game without using daddy/mommy/husband/wife/own credit card to do so.
I proved it can be done in mere day with nothing but professions and playing the game (ie, leveling characters)

Thanks for the input. Yes, I agree with this. BE FRUGAL! DO NOT USE GOOD ENCHANTS WHILE LEVELING! White colored ones, ok. Green, Blue, Purp, save or bank 'em. The AD cost to remove an enchantment is dumb... flat, out dumb :)

    + + + + +
DOUBLE AD DAY + SKIRMISH EVENT = MANY AD :) yes this is a great way to farm AD, but is only available at random times! Certainly do it if you are on when the Sun & Stars align correctly :)

I'd rather work a few hours in my real job and not worry about 40 hour of switching characters and managing what is basically data entry on steroids.

It's still a good guide and I appreciate that not everyone will have my attitude or distaste for data entry

Ah, but you're not in it for the XP, you're there for the AD. Protect Caravan is 2hrs for 200AD.
(one flaw with the OP's original method is that Collect Taxes requires a steady supply of District Maps)

Sure, but ultimately you're better off getting to the higher levels faster. 200 AD is nothing in the long run. The faster you level, the faster you open up more profession slots, and the faster you get to the better tasks.

You missed my point - it sounds like the most boring way to play a game ever invented in the history of man.
Enjoy your night shift and BurgerKing. Don't forget your GF's Big Mac combo again before you leave. She won't forgive you this time.

Sorry what? I'm not poor, and certainly not burger king material (I'm actually educated). I'm not even a guy. Weirdo. Don't judge and assume things about others only going by your own experiences in life.

Remember to do your profession IN THE GATEWAY! you can switch character and run profession without having to relog. DO NOT use the client to do profession (especially with many characters)

Is the gateway finally working with the caravan mission? It didnt give you the AD before, thats why i was doing it ingame logging. So far im only farming it with 2 chars, bt i might go for more if things go ok. Tho its hard to reach 24k with leadership atm, atleast till you reach more lvl i suppose (im sitting around lvl 11-9 with main and alt atm, its lvl so slow :()

So, I get it. But. What fun is it having a bunch of characters at lvl 11? Yah, you believe you are rich cuz you made 500k ad? But....whats the point in being rich, if you arent even really playing?

I have almost 5 million ad atm just through selling stuff I've greeded and sold on the AH.

Cheers to ya bud, sounds incredibly boring though /shrug

I am probably missing something really simple, but I have never figured out where to get the swords that some of the leadership tasks require. Anyone mind shedding some light on that?
