    Hello Troll.
Beta <> Real World Money. If you find it appropriate to charge money for something, it is well past Beta stage. $50 before/during/after = $50. Hard earned money, no matter what country.

Me = I work in a production IT environ. If I were to turn to my internal customer and tell them that they were not able to use a specific service during prime-time hours to the detriment of our customers, I would be handed a pink slip and a firm boot on my *** out the door.

If this is a EU game, than sell it as such not to induce US players.

Honest, I don't give a flippin' hoot, I could have dropped $50 USD on Ghost Recon Online tonight, at least it's stable...

Protip: Founders packs were available before closed beta was even available.
Protip: Maybe you should go whine at all the kickstarters going on instead.

why is everyone complaining about the time they did the maintenance? THEY ARE FIXING SERVER STABILITY ISSUES! If they didn't shut it down themselves to fix the crashing problem, it would have crashed again like yesterday. Then you all would be sitting here complaining about it crashing again..

Woot!!! Good come back...... exactly what I was thinking :p

For those who say "it's not beta, and they're lying", let's put it like this... ALL new games have glitches (refers to all new games on xbox) So I say they're being more honest. They know there's going to be issues getting the game started, and working properly. So "it's in beta" until the bugs are all worked out and the game is working well and then they'll officially exit the beta stage and we'll all complain that there's not enough of what you actually wanted. It's in beta, end of story lol. The server's down and while I'd love to be able to play right now. I'm not going to tell Perfect World that they're morons or idiots or "stealing from me" Just DEAL rofl

I had this funny thought in my head want to hear it?

Ok imagine if gold was soulbound what would that entail lets see you cant trade it thus gold sellers would go out of bussiness.
or same as above but your soulbound gold you go to a vendor to exchange it for non refined diamonds which are also soulbound.... wait why not have just diamonds as currency eliminating gold altogether freeing up some coding to use elsewere wait my bad silly idea never be improvised and used what was I thinking maybe oneday a gaming company will use a simular idea and be the first in the gaming community to abolish goldsellers totally.

but the gold sellers are employed by the gaming company .. they would lose revenue if they did that ...

Who are you white knight turds trying to impress? A business that denies ~50% of its customer base during prime time on network issues that could have been addressed earlier or later is just bad. And stfu with this "its free" bullcrap. Pretty sure they wouldn't have made the game if there wasn't any profit...... 'MERICA

I actually like the way they have it set up. You acquire different currency from doing different tasks that are used for different purposes.

The conclusion then is that the network issue CAN'T be addressed later. (or at least, not without the issue causing problems like crashing the server and rendering it unplayable anyway)

Seriously, folks... open beta is still beta.

If you don't understand what beta is, try testing alpha.

If you still feel challenged, go play WoW.

Magically, We All Work in IT: Based on a True Story About Forum-Goers During Maintenance

    Coming this Summer

Seriously, they're charging money because they have a product they can put up for people to purchase, but they're further refining the product as people pay into it.

Yep, that is part of why I bit early and for the Hero of the North pack, to access the beta as early as possible - as on old line pencil and paper D&D player I hoped this would be as good as the early look promises so far - and provide my little slice of the market signal that says 'Bring it!' to the folks at PWE.

Agreed, it was a cheap shot. If you want I can run the IP of the servers and get you the exact location of the servers. I am still betting none of them are EU.

I don't think I am special, I know I am special ... they even told me in high school I was by putting me in that small class room before I dropped out.

Actually, knowing the IP of the servers means nothing, if the servers are running on a cloud-based system.

And remember, would you rather have unstable gameplay, or them just bring servers down to get the problems over and done with.

In Communist China there is no such thing as "prime time", hence the scheduling.

didn't want to start a discusion with this, but i'm in Norway on a 24 hour time. AM and PM aren't something we are really into here. but OFC 95% of the world could google it OR they could give a more standard time
