hey people why don't u stop complaining and go do something productive like i don't know visit family, friends, go out and eat, go to the movies, have a shower, go to bed, go party, go gambling, u can even play other games while u wait, go for a walk and get some fresh air, go play some pranks, let your inner child out and have some childish fun like playing hide and seek or tag, go swimming. if u do something else and keep yourself busy while waiting it will be up in no time.

Um, yeah, I have an idea, allow us to connect to the servers while the servers are down. They could be hosted on a separate server how? You still would need to login and verify your account. And lets be real, I got Dollars to Donuts that they are using a Group of interconnected VM server on a storage array, so one goes down for maintenance, they all go down.

This idea would be a logistical nightmare for file transfers and people would complain that there edits never made it to live shard they intended.

**Shrug** My server maintenance is done.

You are wrong. It's been done by other games. I guess since you spent 200 dollars on this game, you know everything?

Honestly, for an open beta there should be no real current transactions allowed. I don't forsee them letting people carry over their lvl 60 toons to the live game whenever it launches

Wow, I can't believe these negative/mean responses. Obviously, since this maintenance is to address extreme server load issues they had no choice but to do it now. Would you rather the servers just crash in the middle of prime time? They said this isn't their normal maintenance schedule. Of course this is a have to do it situation.

Hey, hey, hey, hey-now. Don't be mean; we don't have to be mean, 'cause, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

I guess since I can't connect I will go make a baby with my wife. Since really that will be PW's fault, can I make them pay child support ?

Yes you can. If you are not sterile.

I hope they will offer a "Weekend Warrior" pack to allow those of us able to afford it to play during the weekend server-load-reduction "maintenance". It doesn't really make sense to take the servers down during the weekends for everyone, especially when the load could be controlled by adjusting the price-point of the "Weekend Warrior" pack at a level that will limit the peak number of players.

There will be no wipe from Open Beta to Launch. This is 100% true.

I just wish there was a way to get into the Foundry at least while the game itself is down. Kind of like the old Aurora toolset. I know they are completely different, but it would still be nice.

Consider yourself a retail store, would you close your doors during the prime time for foot traffic?

    Why this time?

This is not our normal maintenance time, but unfortunately the maintenance needs to be performed ASAP to ensure that the servers remain stable with the current traffic we are seeing.

    So that's PST(8-12), and I'm EST.does that mean i have to wait 11-3am?
If thats right^, and u had to do it asap, yall shoulda done it way earlier.

Understand to be upset I have CST time and I work 2nd shift (thats 1pm to 10 pm CST) so this is a maintenance. Hope it makes it better though if you ARE complaining of spending your money and complaining it is not an open beta ok think on this WHY ARE YOU SPENDING MONEY? Oops caps guess it just doesn't figure into my head right. I get it that people spend money when they have it and hope this game doesn't wipe your characters but even if it does zen aren't just for neverwinter but all of the PW games so you probably won't get it back since they sold zen before neverwinter was even in closed beta. If you play WoW at all you know about the weekly down time well we are paying every month for a day in all we can't even play there is always going to be complainers and yes people get mad but mad props come to this team that knows to try to keep the downtime spread throughout the world time zones since I have gaming buddies that are from different countries I don't mind losing a few hours of my prime time if it lets them catch up to me :D.

i don't know man, there's like 3 different types of social media which states quite clearly that it's a unique circumstances and it had to be taken care of asap and people are still screaming its unfair this, bad business that, people are asking when it comes back up even though the answers in the freaking thread title and as ever people simply have to blow up at the slightest provocation instead of simply ignoring any snide/insulting remarks.

If the floor was littered with broken glass and the shelves holding the remaining jars were all unstable, you bet I would.

To say something about primetime is kind of useless, lets say, the world does not
always rotate around North America as center ;P
What is bugging me, as Star Trek online player (also), is that STO server is down
two nights (mornings) in a row the exact same time as NWN.
Is the ugly truth that they only in fact only has one old PC in their CEO's garage,
with a ****load of surplus harddrives connected .. and just trying to pretend they
    are running multiple state-of-the-art servers?!

No, the babies are made because most people can't spell.

Gotta love it when the grammar police come out and their own comments are spelled incorrectly. Priceless. :D

As far as the maintanence, I have to agree with most here that this is a horrible time to choose for this. No, I'm not whining, but have to admit that I was quite shocked when I tried to login to the game and the servers were down on a Saturday night during primetime hours. Very odd time to schedule a maintenance in my opinion. I, like a lot of others here don't get much time to play. Oh well, I suppose no matter what time they take the servers down it will be an inconvenience to someone around the world. Sure can't please everyone.

That's where you're being mislead.. its not an open beta, at least not in the traditional sense in the lightest. Its just an excuse for them to give so they can start making money sooner and when they make mistakes.. "hey its open beta, this is suppose to happen!"

If the floor was getting so unstable that it was going to give way, yes, pretty much.

Open beta is the live launch. There is no reset.

Are you gonna fix the Foundry to where you can search for quests by name or author? I published a quest and there's no way I can find it when logged in as my main character. Others have been complaining too. I can't share my quests if the only way to share them is to have a friend type in an atrocious "short code" which is not short, impossible to remember, and cannot be pasted into the search box in game. Fix it to where I can type in "The Caustic Swamp" and pull up my quest.
i was able to find mine with the ID tag it was given not my actual quest name. i was having this same problem hope this helps. the Id number is visible when you you enter the foundry and select the quest you want to search. i hope they do fix this bug looking for my quest in this manner has be annoying. this was my quest ID "NW-DDFZG5J61" i searched it in game and my quest came right up.
