Dungeons & Dragons MMORPG, Neverwinter, and there's one sure way to get in — spending $49.99 or $199.99 on a Neverwinter Founder's Pack.
The line to get into Neverwinter's beta weekend events is sure to be incredibly long, and with only three of them scheduled for North America and Europe — February 8-10, March 8-10 and March 22-24
Neverwinter has three tiers of Founder's Packs for purchase. The first, priced at $19.99 (valued at $49), is more of a starter kit — players purchasing this tier are not guaranteed beta access. What they do get is this:
• ‘Adventurer's Helper Pack' containing six different types of in-game items
• ‘Small Bag of Holding' for twelve extra inventory slots
• ‘Amulet of Protection' item
Next up is the Guardian of Neverwinter Pack, which offers entry into all three beta weekends, a three day head start into the open beta, and $149 worth of in-game items for $59.99, including...
• Three-day head start access to Neverwinter Open Beta
• Unique ‘Gold Moonstone Mask Regalia' head piece
• Unique ‘Armored Horse' mount
• Unique ‘Direwolf Companion'
• In-game and forum ‘Founder' title
But wait, there's more!
Those hungry for some hot renegade Dark Elf action can shell out $199.99 for the Hero of the North Founder's Pack. They'll score beta access, a five-day head start to the open beta, and the exclusive playable Menzoberranzan Renegade race, complete with special racial abilities, a tattoo, and a panther companion, just like a certain Drow ranger. All told it's $549 worth of virtual stuff.
• Five-day head start access to Neverwinter Open Beta
• Beta Weekend Friend Invite code
• Exclusive access to ‘Menzoberranzan Renegade', a Drow playable race like the legendary ranger Drizzt Do'Urden, complete with unique racial abilities and tattoo
• Unique ‘Armored Spider' mount
• Unique ‘Panther Companion'
• In-game and forum ‘Founder' title
• VIP Game Access to skip-the-line and get priority log-in access
Players will be able to purchase Founder's Packs on the official Neverwinter web page starting tomorrow.

Comments
The line "playable Menzoberranzan Renegade race" makes me think it's the latter. If it's true. It seems a little fishy that the info appeared elsewhere before it was released by PW or Cryptic.
Sounds like a special version to me
Yeah thats what i was thinkin.
=/
It's funny how betas went from for testing purposes to to quick cash grab schemes.
At least we have dates though.
BTW nice catch ryvvik

Yeah, but I'm going to PAX which means I wont be able to play for that beta weekend which means... I'm a sad panda.
Aww cheers Asmo, yeah bit steep, maybe $129-149 dolero's would have been better price. Aussie dollar is good against the US
Mate you might still get on this, but yeah be nice to know.

Also, I know that TL2 pre-orders and PCGamer codes specifically stated to not guarantee first-day beta access. BUT, are we at least guaranteed some sort of beta access?
Woo hoo!
I just hope that the downloader is good, and won't require me to download the whole thing in one sitting, starting all over if my connection or the .exe crashes.
PLease please no pando media HAMSTER lol. They should offer the dl themselves via direct download, as a torrent and make the direct downloads available on other gaming sites so that the servers don't crash and burn or slow to a crawl.

This particular method does not include Pando. However, things are subject to change as are other methods for downloading.

Eh patching is likely to be very slow when it becomes available to all.

Hey, that's super nice. Thanks for the info. Runes of Magic had a terrible downloader. It almost drove me away. Other things, in the end, drove me away. Glad to hear that NW won't have the same problem.
One question though: Where in the world do you get a 30+ megabyte per second internet connection? The highest I have ever seen is 24 MB/sec. I myself have 3 MB/sec (which is fast enough for most games I've played turned to the max).
EDIT: Oh, you said "megabit" not "megabyte." 30 megabits translates to less than 4 megabytes. Makes sense now... Nvm...
Thus even if torrent will start slow (once the file is released) it will catch up more quickly. best thing - no hidden download client like pando (which is also basically a peer to peer kind of thing).
Ah cool

Still nice to have some info, and the two other pre-orders packs seem reasonable.
P.S. Can't wait to play it!
