And I will copy andre's line that stromshade you rock.
I am sure new mods will help in keeping all the discussions civil and relevant, and clear up the spam. Once in a while we all need to be reminded of the boundaries.

We were given three choices to pick two mods and all three (plus one) became mods. Why did I vote?
I think that the developers did the community a huge favor in their selection process by the inclusion of all of these very talented people to become moderators for the forums. I am pleased to see that they did change their thought process and took this step. We did vote, our voices were heard, and the response to those voices is what we now see today. So your voice did count, and the developers took a rather unusual step and answered in kind.
My Best,
Ezra Steel

In a nutshell Murphey's Law caused all sorts of havoc.
Let me assure you it's been a confusing and bumpy ride for everybody.
The reason all three of the options became moderators was because there was a tie for second place. Stormshade decided to bend the rules and allow all three of us to be moderators due to this unforeseen result.
Truthseeker on the other hand was the result of a technical issue, some mis-communication and an awesome CM. After all of us applied for the position originally Stormshade sent some additional questions to fill out.
However due to a technical issue Truthseeker didn't receive these questions. Because Stormshade wasn't aware of the issue until after the poll closed Truth wasn't given his rightful spot in the poll.
The fact we have four instead of two mods is simply because Stormshade is a truly awesome and compassionate person. Although things didn't go as smoothly as he wanted he truly did try to do right by all of us even if that meant having more mods than he was supposed to have.
I can't fault you for feeling mislead but that was absolutely not the the intention. Murphey threw Stormshade some curve-balls which he dealt with as fairly as he could.
*Fears he will have to sleep with one eye open tonight for giving so much information out*

Yeah I agree. SS did a great service to community by increasing the number of mods. The AIspam has been increasing exponentially because of skynet becoming self-aware. Recently in many of the spam threads, confused human were asking questions, "Is this spam?" and answering, "I am not sure, maybe..." were found.
We definately need more humans just to defeat the upgraded spambots.

Yeah, what was said here as well as what I wrote on my first Mod reply. It's all good, literally. Trust me when I say, next time we might not be so lucky for voting when this is long from ramping up for launch.

Nice, didn't realize truth was made a mod as well. You all need a "mod" title now or a mod only siggy so we can easily see we who's who and know when to type carefully xD :P

If you look at the last line in my sig, I show it there but more...subtly. I may change it after our probationary period..or not. It's a cool dual meaning.
We should still be careful, though. Any one of them could be a chrome toaster in disguise. The spam could be the first wave of the invasion force.
So, I know the mods already answered this, but just to make things clear... The selection process went well, however, we uncovered a few issues along the way.
1) There was a tie in the public voting process. I honestly never though I would see this, as in a popularity contest, there is almost always someone on the bottom. However, in this particular case, we ended up with a clear first place winner, and a tie for second place.
I'm also of the opinion that more moderators are better, so the public process allowed me to sneak in another mod due to the tie.
2) For some odd reason, Truth seems to find every single technical issue known to man. It's like the guy is a magnet for bugs... So, when we were talking and I asked him why he never got back to me on the moderator interview, he said he never got it.
Clearly, this was no beuno. Truth is an exemplary member of the community, and I have a strong suspicion that had he received his interview form, he would have won the public selection process hands down.
In fact, some people were clearly very upset that he was not included in the poll.
Due to this, when he did get me back his interview form, I looked over it, saw no problems with including him as a mod, and once more, believe more mods is better. So, I decided to sneak him in as well.
So...
Did your votes in this process count?
Most certainly, yes.
Did I change the rules on the fly a little bit?
Yes.
Did I do these things because I'm a horrible evil CM who wishes to see his community suffer, or did I do this because I felt comfortable that these decisions would be representative of what you the community would want?
The answer to that, will depend almost entirely on who you ask. Hopefully, they'll respond with the latter.
So, I know the mods already answered this, but just to make things clear... The selection process went well.

True and all part of your plan.

Okay, after reading all of this. I will post my prepared statement:
My citizens of NWO:
It has been a difficult time. Many of those we loved have left us, and we know others may still not understand the path I have to take so we may thrive and grow, and those who cannot see this light will leave us also.
As your outcries have shown, I have stepped up and taken the position you so rightly have demanded I fill. While I denied such requests at first, like Julius Caesar did when he multiply denied his position, I have accepted your overtures and took the position you have given...no, thrust upon me.
While the flow of what you can and cannot do is still severely restricted, we know that this will be lifted soon, very soon. As soon as this game is ready, your freedoms to see and go and do what you will will be alloted. But for now, we are not ready for such things.
When the game is ready for its final release, we will do that.
But until then, I must enforce the Martial Beta in perpetual effect.
Many of you ask, why Stormshade had to be Beheaded. He was one of the greatest assets we had to the community. But his questioning for my harem to repopulate Neverwinter and shock troop secret police to stop the terrorist attacks from DDO to permanently sabotage us were the actions needed. His cries of "false bombings" and "power hungry dictator"
were the acts of a desperate man knowing his end was near. While I thought Aandre would have been my second, his alliegance to DDO made his burning alive with the othr Trolls a painful necessity as well.
We always were at war with DDO even if people never saw it.
We were always at war with GW 2 even if they have accepted a cease fire at the moment.
EvE knows we're always at war and it is our hope they will se the light one day and join us as a PvP province under the NWO banner.
Those who cried overlord confuse this with what a Beloved Despot is...and that is what my acts are. But sometimes we must stop the ones we love, even if our hearts break to save the whole of the NWO.
The NWO will continue to be Strong. The NWO will continue to prosper, and any insurgents will meet the crushing grip of the Black Hand of DOOOOOOOOOOOOM against our enemies headed by my trusted Commander gillrmn .
And may we all one day walk into the Valley of Going Gold.
LONG LIVE THE NWO!
