We received quite a few applications for volunteer forum moderators, and have narrowed the list down to three potential moderators.
I've had each of these moderators fill out an interview form, and really don't feel like I can narrow the field any further on my own. So, this is where you come in.
Using the poll below, please vote for your top pick for a forum moderator. The top two will be chosen to join our volunteer moderation staff, and they will begin helping us to moderate the Neverwinter Community the first week of October.
This poll will close on 9/27/12.
Again, I really want to thank everyone who sent in an application. We have a strong community here, and with your help, we can all continue to grow the Neverwinter Community as we march on towards beta, and then launch!

I am honored to be considered! I know I haven't made a large face for myself in the community, but I will introduce myself now.
I moderate on the RaiderZ forum (another game from Perfect World). I enjoy moderating and being able to help the community, and I would love to be on the starting lineup for the community team here on the Neverwinter forums.
I admit, I am fairly new to the world of Dungeons and Dragons; however, I played DDO in the past. The game itself wasn't necessarily my cup of tea, but that is why I have such great hopes for Neverwinter.
If you have faith in me then I would really appreciate your votes, and I promise I will pay it back to the community just as I do on RaiderZ.
Thank you,
bubbabinsky

Thanks for the interest and consideration. MMO Gaming-wise, I have past years of experience as a Moderator, Administrator, and Managing Editor for Stratics.com and was a Counselor for Ultima Online back in the day. I have played MMOs almost non-stop since 1997 with the birth of the Baja Shard. I have continued to be a D&D player since around 1994 and a DM of an ongoing (to this day) Forgotten Realms campaign that started about a year later.
I know I won't able to devote a large amount of time to forum moderation due to my health. I just feel with my past experience, fluent English, and deep love of the Forgotten Realms that I could be an extra pair of experienced eyes and in judgement. It has been my wish to help out with the moderation of the NWO forums in this regard.
I'd be happy to answer any other questions about my background, D&D intrigue, and other relative such things.
Thank you for this opportunity and thanks to those who have cast their vote for me, I seem to be in good company! Best wishes to bubbabinsky and ambisinisterr!

Thank you for the consideration both to the PWE Community Management Team and to the Community itself. I truly appreciate the opportunity!
I feel really awkward trying to write some style of campaign post so please bear with me.
Most of my moderating and administrative experience comes from various Neverwinter Nights Servers which I helped program, design and manage, but I have also moderated countless clan/guild and fansite forums for a number of MMO and Co-Op Games over the years as well. I've had a cumulative of at least eight years experience moderating various games and player communities that I'll bring to the table.
I'm really not the type of person to boast how great I am and this post will be no different.
All I will say is that I didn't apply to be a moderator to be a 'D&D Campaign Style Rules Lawyer' or any other similar reason. I applied because I know I would strive to help the community grow and prosper whenever possible beyond throwing the rule book at them.
I have the utmost respect for the building community here and I applied to try to help the community wherever and whenever I could. To me moderating is more than enforcing rules and I hope to get the opportunity to help the community I have grown to care about so much over the last few months.
Zebular, I'm truly glad to see your name up there. You have always been an outstanding part of the community and I have full faith that you would make a great moderator as well.
Bubbabinsky, at first I was a little confused to see the name up there but your post cleared that up fast. After seeing what you've done on Raider's I can see why Stormshade has your name listed up there as well!
No matter who is selected I have full faith we'll have a great moderating team for the forums. Best of luck to each of you.

Thank you! I like your attitude and your willingness to do background checks ;P.
I know, I was surprised to find that I had made the poll, considering that I have (admittedly) not been doing my best to communicate with the community. Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favor (Yes, I went there).
Why not have al 3 as mods Stormshade? In a few months you gonna need 3 anyways.
Doing a pull on 3 names when you need 2 is just to be mean, you could have selected 1 of them your self and keept it to your self.
Do the right thing! b:angry
I couldn't agree with you more. It's going to be really hard for the one who doesn't make it, but we all know that all three of the candidates are more than eligible to moderate a forum, and I'm very confident that Neverwinter will be in good hands by the end of the poll.
To the third person, even if that third person is me, you know that it is an accomplishment in itself to make that list. Be proud and good luck!
P.S. I just read this and it is much more dramatic than I had imagined it....

Even if I had snuck one past the poll, and just "kept it to myself" the community would have known once that person started moderating.
Besides, the point of this is to make sure you guys have a chance at choosing who your volunteer moderators are. There are, in fact several reasons why I'm letting you all choose.
When the forums start picking up more, the person who didn't make it will make it into the poll for the next round auto-magically.
Also, all of them will have my thanks, and should have your thanks as well.
Cheers,
Stormshade

Then the question remains why not simply keep all three? I'm guessing because only two are needed for the traffic at this time. However, why not proactively do so and just hire three for the potential growth anyway?
No matter what, please always do vote people to make sure your voice is heard, thanks all!

I think all three of us would too! Nobody likes to lose afterall but I that's just not the way life works.
In a sense it's great to simply have our names up there and to be considered for such a position but obviously 'almost only counts in horseshoes and grenades' haha.
But let's not be calling out Stormshade for putting such a hard decision before us, he has his own bosses and rules to adhere to so I doubt the strict two is entirely up to him. Although it sucks to have only two spots it's a great opportunity for you all to pick who you would want to moderate the forums.
In recent weeks we've had a lot of calls for mods to clean up the forums but although that's the most obvious effect mods have it's only part of the job.
Moderators act, in a sense, as your representitives. They have to bridge the gaps not only between player disputes and rule breaking but also assist, guide and act as the voice of the community. We can't promise miracles but we can promise our best effort to help and respresent the community wherever we can.
So don't look at this poll like your voting for who's going to run around with a 'banhammer.'
You're voting on somebody to help and represent the community.
I think it would have been better to give us 5 or 6 to choose from, so that we could have had more of a role in selection. 2 of your 3 here are good choices (not saying which two), but I do know one missing that deserved to be in this mix... and itsdamned wrong that they aren't here. And that's the Truth.
Making us choose 2 of 3 is also awkward (unnecessary embarrassment to the one who doesn't get the hat, even tho they most likely would never admit it), you should have either given us a larger group of say 5-6 and let us vote, or just tell us who the 2 mods are.
Anyhow, I've cast my vote, and I have faith that whoever is chosen will do a good job.

*replies with reluctance*
Aandre, this kind of posting while I can understand what you are doing, is wholly inappropriate here. As SS noted on the closed application reply thread there, it was a tough process and those who have applied are kept on file for a future process. Some applicants simply didn't receive email interviews. It's not the place here to ask why, and that is between the applicant and reviewers to decide what should be discussed. Please don't publicly drag this out like this. This is for voting on who is listed here. Let's focus on that.

Sorry for my absence yesterday, quite busy. I am all caught up now and should be able to participate in the community for the course of the weekend, barring anything extreme pops up.
I am not familiar with any of the nominee's so have no idea who to vote for.
All three of us have passages on the first page containing information about us. Feel free to base you vote off of those.

All three of these look like good choices. I only wish I could vote for more than one. In the end, however, I'm fairly certain I'll be satisfied with any of these three.
Well I'm glad most folks are being level headed about all of this, I think we have three good candidates and as the forms grows I'm sure there will be at least two more mods added, the important thing here is that our community is coming together and we can help shape that.
I have to be honest and say I vote for none of them. The one I would have voted for isn't on the list, we all know who he is and that he should be on it.
One of the names in there, I don't like plain and simple.
One I haven't seen post enough to have an opinion of.
The other, well being a mod in a different game forum already plus the lack of knowledge of DnD makes me think he shouldn't have made it on the list in the first place.
Actually after further refection and after reading some other post I have decided to vote for one person, so good luck guys all three of you.

I'm personally just happy we're going to have some Moderators to help with the spammers and helping out with community posts - like organizing, compiling and maintaining the stickies. I'll not be upset of any sort should I not become a Moderator. Both the other two are fine candidates in which I have confidence that they will do well for the Moderation of these forums.
I wish you wouldn't have made us vote. I like posts I've read from all three and enjoy discussion with them. I would rather you have just chosen one or more (or all of them).
What a horse race! I've voted finally. In addition to the posts here on the first page, hopefully my questionnaire from two days ago helped a few folks decide who to vote for. Tough questions, but I think all three proved worthy, and have added credibility to the positions they seek.
