Yep, same here! I don't believe we should do a runoff. Enough of the politics.
I'd give em all a chance Storm, we may very well need the three of them (after all they probably wont all be on at the same time, with 24 hours in a day, weekends, etc.)

After checking the best possible options when democracy procedures fall apart, I've decided to step in as your temporary dictator until we are all equal...wait, that's step two of Communism..never-mind then.

First they'll review the votes to make sure that all are from legitimate accounts, and not just ones made for the sake of voting for a specific candidate to keep the ranks close. This exact thing happened on the RaiderZ forum, and resulted in the third-place candidate actually being the second-place candidate, with illegitimate votes for the original second-place candidate.
Confusing, but it does happen.
After that, it should be clear who the winners are.

Yeah this is what will happen, they will most likely discount votes fro the same IP or from proxy servers...it's going to be interesting to see how it shakes out, but I'm also sad that only 104 voted...that's hardly a good cross section of the community.

I choose to think a bit more positively, but still realistically on the number that voted. I believe what the tally shows us Stormdragon, is that it's the most realistic data yet of the volume of regular posters. Surely we got to hear from some new forumites as well that voted. As you state, I would hope that all of the voters who cast their vote did so honestly. Any that did not should have their vote dismissed and be forbidden from future voting at the very least, if not banned outright from participating in our forum community.
I believe it was fairly evident that we'd have a small sample like this early on. It goes to show that many older Cryptic forumites most likely do not visit daily and might just casually pay us a visit. It also shows, as it did in my thread, that there's definitely motivated community members here, all wanting to see this forum do well, and fully capable to see to it this community flourishes, and with integrity.

aka, building blocks, we'll get here!
Andre, how exactly would we know if someone voted dishonestly?

We won't, Storm will let us know I'm sure if there were any problems (there are easy methods to check for IP address and proxy access). It's technology, who knows what tools Cryptic has at their disposal.
Hopefully, none of that is necessary and we hear Stormshade announce our new mods!
The results do call for all three mods I think. Maybe people knowingly voted that way to give a hint to storm to get all three
Afterall, spams are evolving as recent Market strategy something thread suggests.

Thanks, best wishes to you also Bubbabinsky and Ambisinisterr as well!
I'd also like to thank all those who held me in such a regard to vote for me.
I am honored and humbled.

I suppose I should have voted to help stave off a tie! I decided to abstain from voting since there were only three of us, I didn't feel comfortable voting for or against myself between such a small number of candidates. If I were say, running for Office or some paid-job, I'd probably then have voted in such a polling.
On the minor poll spoofing topic: Administrators can easily tell the IP addresses of users and, depending on what coding they have going on for this BB Poll software, they should be able to easily track who voted for who also. It then comes down to a different set of skills to weed out any who may have maliciously voted mutliple times versus those who reside in the same house-hold and/or share an IP address as another who voted. Worry not, for skilled Administrators (on some forums, Moderators too) can and regularly do handle such things and I would assume that Storm and his team members are skilled in such, given their positions as Developers and more.
Have to be careful with the IP check seeing as some households have more than one pc and person/account.
For example I play almost all my games with my wife (we in fact met online in a game and are now married and have a son) and she is not very vocal on the game forums though she will take a look if i ask her opinion on something.
She in fact voted on a newly created account seeing as our older Perfect World MY EN accounts have been lost in the ether.
That's not counting those with even more pc as their kids play too.

I had expected them to check to prevent any spoofing of results yet considering how close the scores are we could have quite an upset haha.
I have around 6 friends/family members who are actively waiting for this game to be released but only a couple look at the forums (and I doubt even log in). I didn't tell them who to vote for but did use this as an additional excuse to nudge those without an account to finally register one.
This means my account is likely linked to their IP's/Proxies by dragging my computer around, taking out my handy dandy phone, using my job's wifi and from friends/family visiting my own house.
Considering how close the scores are I could end up in last depending on who my real life acquaintances voted for and how Cryptic's Personal read the web of IP and Account Data.
Talented experts or not, I know my web would confuse myself let alone somebody who doesn't know the details. Hahaha.
In any case best of luck to Zebular and Bubbabinsky. As we started, no matter what we'll have an excellent start to the moderating team.
Never would have figured we'd end this close.

I wonder how this will be handled.

I doubt it, it would severely disrupt the accuracy of the vote especially if you consider how many adults can "share a flat" in areas like the UK etc

Who won?
No wait, China?
Now I'm confused also
Who *did* win seriously.
Well, the results are pretty clear. They all won!
I'm going to be reaching out to all three of them tomorrow to set up an initial training time with them.
Thanks guys!
Stormshade
A happy ending for them indeed!
(Sorry China )
Congrats to our new mods! Kick those spammers in the gut!
