Speaking for myself, I hate this mechanic. Not only it makes HR vs HR skilless and RNG based, it is obnoxious to play against. Give me more damage, better survivability and bug fixes (like hindering strike glitching out, going on cooldown without having any effect or swiftness stopping working for no apparent reason for an entire match) and I will gladly give up this HAMSTER.
Then do visit The Wilds forum and try to make some changes. In my case I'm trying to get the devs notice the problems with the HR in general, and especially with the Archery path.
The thing is, the situation you HRs are going through is the exact same thing TRs went through (and to an extent every other class is going through as well). On one hand you have a class that's half-baked and lacking in so many areas that it is thoroughly inefficient and cumbersome to play with. On the other hand, you have the devs giving that class a thoughtlessly, brainlessly, cluelessly overpowered "compensation" which is so powerful, that it offsets and hides all the initial problems with that class and confuses the people on just exactly which point that said class, deserves criticism.
So unless good HR players make these pointers out more vividly, usually the rest of the players just remain content about the present situation, and will continue to defend this broken, cheesy mechanic, which just spreads animosity amongst the players.
It will be all for naught I'm afraid. Sandy and Rylar both did heaps to help fix the class and highlight the problems plaguing HRs before they just gave up and quit the game - and I cannot blame them. Devs just don't
I main 2 HRs (1 pve and 1 pvp) and I refuse to defend or even use Crushing Roots. Hell, I don't even have any points in it on either of them anymore. Perhaps instead of agreeing that the mechanic sucks just don't slot the class feature at all? Yes I melt to the likes of Rayrdan but I can still put up a fight without using that super cheesy BS mechanic, I'm sure the better HRs out there will cope too.

i think around 3000il, archery is playable. you can get enough fun among frustration

My Archer is ilvl 2.8 and is not completely useless in GG. But I get absolutely wrecked by those Trappers.

Every class has some sort of difensive mechanism and great damage boost except the hr. Hell we were the class with most dodges, now we are on par with them except that ours arent dodges. Nerf dazes, remove them all but damage boost, dodge boost and cruel recovery stacking on crits are required changes
Tbh. We may as well give up on this thread till strongholds is finished, and mod8 is coded. Simply because the devs don't have the leisure atm. to overhaul HR mechanics to the extent required to bolster the class into competitiveness sans crushing roots.
The majority of HRs - geared at the 2k to 3k level - even with crushing roots, are not an unkillable menace to similarly geared opponents. It's only when you get your HR geared and fully booned up past 3k-3.5k+ that they really start to fly. And how many of these uber HRs are they..? Really..? I'm 3.5k, and it's like maybe once every few days I see another HR with better gear than mine, or see another HR in GG that beats me out for kills and score.
Despite the qq'ing, the HR has little impact on the daily frustrations of pvp as a whole. Evidence..? Quite simple, if the permastun HR was so good, there would be more of us.

There will be, people in PvP guilds are already testing perma CC 5 group builds for SH PvP skirmishes in GG and domination.
HR will be a wanted asset in the 5 man "Lock down" groups in 7.5.
And I Have ran into HR that use the constant CC with Lifesteal/T. Fey touch and T. Negation builds and all I can say is 6 straight minutes of being CCed until dead is not fun "You are in a better place than I am as a SW.".

guilds dont testing perma cc group, they used it from day one. for example our mighty absolute ecorp
My build's a fairly standard high LS, t.neg and t.terror lostmauth set etc. Permastun. And in conjunction with a dps teammate, absolutely lethal. A good 3.5-4k cw or a good scoundrel tr will kill me everytime though 1 on 1.
But these are all extreme cases in everyday pvp, outside of premades. Your bog standard HR in bog standard pvp is no more and no less irritating than any other class with a decent build. All classes, bar SWs unfortunately, have their own "argh, god I hate that" abilities.

I am a SW and argh i hate in this order: 1. TR with permastealth/SE nub builds, skilles imo 2. anoying permadaze Hunter, but tbh in case they have similar gear i can kick their but most times 1 vs 1, they only perform in a group 3. oneshooting GF , redicules for a tank, this class performs very good, even bad geared with the right setup 4. unkillable faithfull DC´s, redicules cheasy gameplay not much skill needed , got one myself but stay with warlock 5. GWF with T negation/T feytouch who twohits me with fully buffed and do not get scratch from my dots (nomally maxed builds, so I can´t complain, but i hurts) 6. OP´s, warlock is the nativ enemy to this class, caused by some weared interactions that make OP suffer most times from Warlock bargain+loset, take a GF+Warlock, this seems to be a very toxic combination for lots of classes caused by some buff/aura from GF, seems to be broken stuff CW are the weakest class against my build, not speaking about maxed CW´s, i can´t say anything about them
