Bonus companions not account wide!

This CLEARLY says each of the companions is an account-wide unlock.

Yea Cryptic may do some dodgy things but false advertisement isn't usually one of them they more lean towards misleading advertising so yea it is rather disgusting if they don't fix that I personally didn't participate in the event but anyone that did deserves their account wide unlocks not to get screwed on a lie (or possibly mistake if they were intended to be released account wide and didn't).

I was promised an account-wide companion during a promotion like this. I got one Priestess of Sune... instead of one for each toon on the account. The promotion stated the same thing... account-wide. I would not have paid the money that I did... if I only got one.

I've already reached out to the team that worked on the promo. Planning on bugging them in-person when I get into the office tomorrow.

I haven't even gotten mine yet, (submitted ticket 150625-001153 for this).

I find this completely unacceptable, after all I purchased items I had no interest in just to obtain these companions for ALL my characters.

It should have read: "Single purchase, tradable with players" as stated in the Zen Store. Not Account-Wide unlock.

I was immediately wary of this when I saw the pictures they used for the stats were just the generic cash shop style ones (bind on equip) and not bound (account). My opinion of Cryptic is so low that I just knew there was going to be problems from the get go, the devs wouldn't give two shakes, customer service will keep playing the penalty hold game (and then give you a form message response and close ticket without resolution), and the forum would have posting outrage.

It's sad to be right, even if it is a bit smaller scale then I imagined.

Hi All,

Here's an update on what happened and what we were doing. This spend promotion that was run closely followed another promotion that was run back in 2014. When we ran the previous promotion, we included companions that were account-wide unlocks. In drafting the announcement, we used that promotion as reference material for our blog. It was reviewed for approval and we didn't catch the account-wide unlock inclusion. For this promotion, that line should have been removed.

I understand that the expectation did not correlate with the actual rewards. Our team has increased the amount of companions that were distributed for the spend rewards. Each account should receive a total of three of each of the companions that they qualified for.

In an effort to ensure that this communication issue does not happen again in the future, we're going to set up additional rounds of reviews both with the communications and the marketing team. Our goal is to always be the most reliable source of information for our community and we'll take all necessary steps to hit that goal.

Alex, don't you think that it would have been a better idea to honor the announcement? Now every time there is a promotion we have to figure out if there is a typo and the mistake will er on the side of the developer and not customer. I think you guys are missing the mark on this one

I am sorry for the mistake... but HAMSTER happens. Honor the contract or Cryptic will alienate A LOT more of the NW players that are left.

So the team at Cryptic just copy+pastes old stuff and doesn't check to see if it matches with the new stuff they're putting out, and they decided to still be stingy about compensating players. Even when they were fine with giving account-wide unlocks last year. What kind of marketing strategy is this? It's not like this decision will incite people to spend money or praise Cryptic/the game, if anything it will do the opposite, not to mention the ethical/legal issue of of false advertising. I'm really starting to regret spending even a cent on this game now...

Yeah my experience with the previous promotion kept me from bothering with this one. Who lost out on that one?

BTW... I am not trying to be an HAMSTER, but when I see someone Over-Promise and Under Deliver... as a Customer service Expert... it bothers me.

This is still sincerely upsetting to me.

They advertised something specific. People were TALKING about it the whole time the promo was active, talking about the companions being account-wide. No one was ever corrected.

Giving us 3 companions of each is NOT adequate compensation. We were promised something we didn't get.

I don't care that I can easily make way more than I put into the promotion by selling all these companions (though that remains to be seen, since the supply has just been tripled). I was promised account-wide companions, I expect account-wide companions.

Also, I still only have 1 spider available.
