Depending on the numbers used, I imagine. It could be say high Dodge/Avoidance with a low amount of resistance. I see it not as part of a larger, Shield Power Set but rather as a defensive passive in the Martial Art's Tree that happens to have an object you get like a sword when you grab a Single Blade power.
According to the wiki, it's based on the stacks of Defiant you have on you. Anyway, I find that any time I have Enraged and Defiant on the same too I take Endorphin Rush. I still have another heal or two, but it often cuts how often I need to heal.
Of course the downside to having IDF is your damage is reduced a lot more than if you used, say, Concentration. Then again, if you wanted to tank with it it doesn't matter much. I would like to see the option of having a bubble appear when you're in combat, both as a smooth force bubble and a techy bee hive barrier sort…
You forgot Targeting Computer. Back to the main poster's comments, there's nothing stopping you from using a power from another set that works well with what you're doing. I have two munitions based toons, a cowgirl who uses dual pistol attacks and a shotgun who's passive is either Quarry (For dishing out damage) or…
Also consider the fact that the best Tanks and Bikes have been drops from lockboxes. So far jet's haven't had their own lockbox set. Maybe that will change soon, but it's hard to tell.
Good advice all around. And yes, I know I cannot use IDF and Enrage at the same time. The plan is to use whichever I need at the moment, IDF for tanking and Enrage for damage/solo play.
I can see replacing Field Surge with Masterful Dodge anyway. Roomsweeper is fun, but it's kind of annoying to have to chase down everything you just sent flying away. Uppercut/Havoc Stomp tend to be my Enrage builders for that reason.
Noted. Like I said, I'm still kinda new to CO's combat system. I put in REC because I'm not using Defiance and it's natural energy building. Still, CC in Havoc can't hurt.
I think it's worth noting that if you take Enrage and get the Advantage from it you have, basically, given yourself Regeneration-Lite when used with Defiance.
