I have a hero whose nemesis backstory works best as Darkness, and he is easily defeated solo in nemesis missions. However, I soon discovered what rokurocaris said -- Darkness nemeses in Dockside Dustups are a BAD IDEA. However, it takes but a few seconds to edit your nemesis -- so I keep him as Darkness until Nemesis…
Two comments about your second build: -- You have two slotted passives, AoPM and LR. Are you planning to switch, depending on if there's a "real tank" in the group? -- You chose Protector Mastery, which resets Active Defenses recharge, but I don't see an AD.
I've been thinking about making an earth-based hero myself -- partly in homage to an earth armor/fire melee tanker I leveled to 20ish and put aside in CoH. I really want to go melee rather than ranged, and was thinking about mostly mixing earth and heavy weapons -- using the Rock Crystal axe from the "melee weapons"…
If these are indeed new and stealth-patched in, why would you sneak in new content, when "everyone" (meaning vocal forum-viewers) has been bemoaning the lack of content? Shout it to the rooftops, man!
Wow, lots to think about here. Thanks for the continued posts. War and Peace is now 32. After testing in the powerhouse, I found that Parry/Elusive Monk is way too dependent on Dex to be worth taking. I took Skewer at 32 while I ponder a block replace. I decided to finish leveling W&P with the Warden spec tree -- bumping…
I just gave Defiance a quick tryout in the Training Room. I used team size=3, normal Escaped Prisoners (happened to be in the desert). Note: I still don't have the Armadillo gear for the 25% damage resist. I ran the Battlestation twice each with Invuln rank 3 and Defiance rank 2 and 3. Energy management was definitely…
Yeah, i might look into Defiance instead of Invuln, since I'm PSSing Con anyway. I guess I should have looked more carefully at Mecha Teddy's scaling thread stickied above. Sentinel tree doesn't look like it would do anything for War and Peace outside of Sentinel Aura, since his heal-other is non-critting and he has no…
You might consider one of the premium ATs -- at 1150 zen they're cheaper than a FF slot, and some of them seem to work quite well out of the box. My second character is a Void, who I chose to keep as the AT in case I need to drop to Silver for a bit. She is plenty sturdy, can heal herself with Life Drain, and is fun to…
Form of the Tempest also buffs ranged damage, albeit at half the rate of melee damage. Parry with Elusive Monk advantage will be giving you dodge and avoidance, and Evasive maneuvers will wipe threat. If you're really worried about being squishy, you could substitute SS Con for Ego, and just talent/gear for Ego to 70ish.
My first character coming from CoH was a Blade as well -- to recreate my katana/willpower scrapper. Unfortunately, kat/WP was CoH on easy mode, and the Blade is anything but easy mode -- squishy as a blaster, needs to be in melee range so easily aggroes extra mobs, no heal... :frown: I hate to tell you, but I shelved that…
I believe if it's below 30, any moddable gear will only have one slot -- taking offense, defense or utility mods depending on gear type. At 30+, if the gear is blue it will have 2 slots -- one for stat mod (armor for defense or utility gear, enhancement for offense gear) and one for off/def/util. So you could put a…
Yeah, I did not cancel my subscription, and the credit card has not expired -- in fact, it's given as the first choice of how to pay for my new subscription plan. I've submitted a ticket -- I guess I mostly wanted to make sure that the $30 deal should indeed be automatically recurring. I looked up the original…
Oddly, Printscreen just showed me individual characters, not the honeycomb, so I stuck a few of mine in one picture: From left to right: Putto -- FF archer Sayaka -- FF single-blade Live Free or Rez Hard -- sitting for now, I haven't decided between elec and force for her Amethyst Avenger -- Void AT, surprisingly sturdy…
Inspired by this thread, I started a pistol build for a character I'd had kicking around for a while, Teddy Roosevelt the Rough Rider: He's only level 15 so far, but Breakaway Shot is so much fun! Leaping towards a group, then firing it off a couple times mid-air will kill a group of henchmen, and a couple ticks of Two-Gun…
Nice of you to check back in and admit it wasn't a PW conspiracy -- this time, she whispered meaningfully. If you added an edit to your first post/title, would be even better.
As Ajanus pointed out, gear is not that big of a deal until 40. If you enjoy missions, end missions of most story arcs reward very nice blue gear (depending on if the stats on the gear match your SS, of course). The auction house has plenty of green gear, and once you hit the 30s lots of blue gear. Nemesis heirloom gear is…
I never created any missions using the MA in CoH, instead playing "Dev Choice" arcs, or those recommended by dugfromthearth, who wrote a series of posts on the CoH forums pointing out his favorites at different level ranges. That said, I would love to make a few nemesis missions. The origin of one of my heroes only made…
As a CoX refugee who enjoyed the creative multi-mission arcs available through Mission Architect, and who found plenty of gold amongst the Fire Farm dross, I say Yes, please!
misterjust is referring to loot drops in team play. Every time someone loots a drop you get the "Need/Greed/Pass" message, and with the frequency of lockbox drops you get the message a lot. It only takes a second to hit "Pass", but it still covers the center of your screen with annoying frequency.
Adding my thanks for the sale. I'm one of the many CoX refugees, and I'd bought one costume set already with my gold membership stipend -- but with this sale, I converted $20 to Zen and bought 4 costume sets and a travel power. Good for my heroes, and good for the game.
Exactly. My archer has two AOs, and without going crazy for Int or CD reduction gear, he has only a few seconds between when the first one ends and the second one can be clicked.
That's very interesting to know. I have a level 400 Science "crafter", but I leveled him by fusing all the science mods I'd picked on my Mysticism crafter. He just hasn't headed into high level MI yet. I had assumed all the nodes in Echinocos Shores were tier 4, but apparently only the mysticism ones? Hmm,…
The tier 4 nodes in MI are in Echinocos Shores (sp?) -- not Andrithal. I found at least 8 or 9 active at once on my Mystic crafter, and saw several of the other types while flying around.
I like Canada for leveling crafting. For 101-200 you're looking around Stroessen's Peak -- little glowing pots on stands, although the stands are usually buried under the ground/snow -- and Burial Butte, where the Mysticisim nodes are dream-catchers. I don't remember the name of the glowing nodes, I'll have to check in…
It's not a matter of anti-foreigner sentiment: many countries have different laws about competitions and games of chance. For practical purposes, it's easier to exclude another country than modify your contest to fit that country's laws.
This is not entirely true -- my Mysticism crafter has gotten to 333 from nodes alone, since she didn't have any Mysticism mods to fuse :frown: . Some nodes in the deepest part of Lemuria -- Rastrinfahr's Abyss -- give rank 4 mods and skillups past 321, as do some nodes in Andrithal on Monster Island. It's possible that 333…
CoH player here, been in CO for about a month now. First off, you are coming to a different culture. I've been looking through old forum posts, and what I saw were complaints about Vibora Bay, since so many of the missions are instanced crypts and frequently kill-alls. People in CO are used to open world missions, stacking…
1. New content -- zone and/or adventure packs 2. New way to award level 40s for completing missions -- I'm thinking 200 questionite, but double resources would be something at least. It's stupid to just drop the xp reward and give you the same resource reward for mission completion as when you were 39. I have tons of VB…
I went from lvl 8 Mysticism to 300 from Saturday to Monday, so yes it's fixed. It actually helped having Bloodmoon over the weekend: I had a route in Canada, and the glowing white nodes -- psionic something or other -- stood out really well on the reddened snow. Unfortunately, Mysticism nodes still yield Science…
I've gotten green, blue and purple level 40 gear on my lvl 34 hero, and 20ish gear on my lvl 12 hero -- as well as a couple of nice permanent devices. Of course, I was number 3 in damage on Thrash of the Lich King, and all I got was 1 Primus Recognition...
Well, cross your fingers that today's patch fixes things. I've got a few hours to spend cruising the Canadian Wilderness for low-level nodes if they are indeed granting skill levels again.
I'm a noob myself, but I can answer #3. Skill-ups from nodes are broken, so the only way to gain skill levels right now is to fuse mods. If you're level 2 crafting skill, you need to go back to lower level areas, like level 15-25ish, to find low-level nodes to open -- which still won't give you any skills, but at least you…
