Bloodmoon heroes only drop lvl 40 equipment.

Is it a bug that the until boxes that drop off the zombie heroes only have level 40 equipment? and green at that. Boodmoon used to be a way to pick up decent level appropriate equipment. I could put them up in the AH, but what level 40 would settle for green equipment? I did get a 10% catalyst once but otherwise all I have gotten is level 40 vender trash.

I've gotten green, blue and purple level 40 gear on my lvl 34 hero, and 20ish gear on my lvl 12 hero -- as well as a couple of nice permanent devices.

Of course, I was number 3 in damage on Thrash of the Lich King, and all I got was 1 Primus Recognition...

Haven't done too many of these, honestly- it's just frustrating playing a lower-than-level-40 archer in any of these fights (everything's dead before I can even take aim, let alone fire)- but, in the few I have been in, the vendor trash hasn't even been level 40; it's level 38. Given that I've still got 10 levels before I could even theoretically use those- and I've got better equipment in any case, since none of it is slotted- this bloodmoon is feeling more and more like bloodmeh.

Playing on my level 24 character, I've been getting level 34 gear. It seems that there's some really wonky scaling going on here...

    1. Hmm, it sounds like you're doing something wrong tactically... A controls issue perhaps? Are you familiar with how to use the target next/previous binds and how to configure the ordering? Maybe you're agro-ing (drawing too much threat) that you can't handle yourself being squishy and then promptly getting stomped into the ground for your foolish mistake? I think we've all been there and done that at some point. I'm not sure why you're struggling so much... but something isn't quite right about your account.

    2. The stuff is outdated, but not that bad as far as vendor junk goes. With enough bag space you just run by a NPC vendor/merchant every so often and cash in on it. Seems like a very negative view on what is a minor issue and DOES still give you more resources than most other foes you defeat in the game. More is always nicer, but it's not that bad... *shrug*

Now this sounds like a bug. In the past Blood Moon devices and gear always scale to whatever level you are right then when you get the reward.

Re the final bosses, its obvious its just a failiure to update them.

The 2 sub bosses (strength of and spirit of vengence) both are easier fights and give better rewards. The final boss should have a questionite box the same as they do, and probably current updated loot rather than old loot.

Actually it was more of a problem with lag- that and the fact that even tapping a power requires you to have a target long enough for the animation to complete; I didn't die- the Turakanians did. Before I got off a shot, frequently, because of the mob of Lvl 40 heroes running with defile or that silly electric PBAoE. When, later on, I switched over to my pet master and went after less popular zombies- Vigil and Vanguard- I had no problems and, generally, took the top ranking.

The real issue, though, was that in the few I did with my archer, she was getting gear that was 10 levels too high and, oh yeah, not likely to be used by any character of that level in any case.

Interesting that you should mention that, serendipitynow, because I've never seen the appeal for doing the "into the crypt" missions outside of random Action Figure parts and the perk. Which is to say I've only ever bothered doing them all just a few times.

A better reward for those dungeon missions is DEFINITELY needed, and has been needed really since Blood Moon was created. I'd rather hear people complaining about that than that the vendor junk isn't up to par. Who cares about the junk?! Make the mission itself count for something!

Defile? Don't you mean Epidemic? What electric PBAoE? Most electric powers self-root you in place when you maintain them. An exception is the "Electric Personality" advantage on Sparkstorm but that's kind of weak damage honestly. Lightning Storm is far superior for DPS.

And yeah, if there's a high-DPS AoE build, you're best off picking off the stragglers and not fighting over the zombies that are going to die almost instantly. Also keep in mind you only have to get a few hits in to get a chance at the device reward from an open mission, you don't have to have top ranking.

That said, try because if the open mission fails nobody gets anything, and if it takes too long then the instance "cycles" that people are sharing get out of whack. The European crowd generally does a much better job of keeping the cycles in Blood Moon on track than the West Coast US, they just all try harder to keep it organized I guess...

Heh. Considering I really only do the crypts to get the action figures, and most long time vets already either have them or don't want them, I'm not surprised you're not seeing much about the crypts. If nobody goes in them because they're too busy device hunting, then you won't hear too many complaints about them. The fact that the gear that the end boss dropped was pre-On Alert vendor trash was pretty sad, though.

Maybe it was epidemic- I honestly can't keep the toxic powers straight, as I only have the one toon. *shrugs.* I always managed to get at least a couple shots in, and I never ended up dead last; it just felt pretty 'bleh' and 'why did I even bother to show up?' when the zombies were up and down in literally less than a minute of gameplay...
