FC.31.20140602.2 PTS Update

lordgarlordgar Posts: 267 Arc User
edited June 2014 in PTS - The Archive
This build is scheduled to hit PTS at 6:45pm, 6/3/2014

Release Notes for FC.31.20140602.2:

Preview:

  • Holoforce Armor has been added to the Debugger! This was eiledon's winning entry from the "Design a Costume" contest earlier this year. Keep your eyes peeled for more information (including what's happening with Necratech009's entry) in the next few days.

Other:

  • A Scrollbar has been added to the category list in the Tailor.

  • Added a Lifetime tab to the Gold Bonus Vendor. Players with Lifetime subscriptions can pick up the rewards at any time, even after the month has ended.

Please format any bugs you find in the following format:
Bug
Where it happens
What happens

Please stay on topic in this PTS thread. We use bug reports from this thread to decide whether a PTS build is ready to go live, and so we need to make sure we're seeing everything in it. Please do discuss the changes, but if you find yourself writing about something that isn't specific to what's on PTS, then that should probably go elsewhere.

In particular, do not report bugs from the live game in this thread, unless they are impacted by changes in the PTS build.

Can't wait to see how ya guys envisioned the entry winners. The tailor scrollbar will be quite helpful too- esp as more and more items have extra customizable sub-items to them.
[*]Added a Lifetime tab to the Gold Bonus Vendor. Players with Lifetime subscriptions can pick up the rewards at any time, even after the month has ended.

When there were some misgivings about the sub-only items being raised here I was wondering if the LTS would come in to play like this- as it seemed odd the items would be lost forever even to LTS customers. Prob not the solution non-subs were hoping for, but I can understand why CN is doing this.

First time posting, but I wanted to both express my approval for the work being done, and to help out some, too.

The Holoforce Armor looks awesome. I did notice two bugs, though.

Bug 1: Shoulder Pads default to separate materials.
    Where: Tailor
What: When selecting Holoforce Armor Shoulder Pads for both shoulders, the left defaults to Metal, and the right one defaults to Glass.

Bug 2: Holoforce Leg Accessories - No Material Choices except Glass
    Where: Tailor
What: There are no material choices for the Holoforce Leg Accessories, despite every other piece appearing to have them. They only appear to have the Glass material option.

    Thanks again.

You are my hero Mr Otter, I just wanted you to know that :)

Great to hear about the contest entry coming in :)

BUG?: The truly epic holoforce armor doesn't seem to have a glow option for the various transparent pieces. Seems an odd oversight for a set that has gone to such lengths to match up with existing transparency pieces, all of whom have this feature.

First :D Thanks for doing such an awesome job with the Holoforce Set.

Bug: Male Holoforce Leg Accessories listed in search but not in Leg Accessories drop down list
Bug: Female Holoforce Hip Wear listed in search but not in drop down list

Bug: No Material Options on Holoforce Leg Accessories

Bug: Female Tights Material Options named inconsistently with male options

Missed: Holoforce Hex Pattern available on Short Tight Boots and Short Gloves

Missed: Are the Bug Wings/Spider Back accessories being included with Necra's entry?

Missed: Glow options on transparent materials (unless this was intentional due to prevent epilepsy!)

Missed: Irridescent option on materials (unless this was intentional to keep sci fi set unique)

Misinterpretation: It may be down to how I have drew the face on the submission, but would it be possible to get an option where as well as a fully modelled face, the head also has a simple full mask look i.e no defined mouth, nose, ears. See below

    mask_zpscc4779cd.jpg~original

Nice to have: Would it be possible to extend the female chest wear emblem surround (and emblem) a little bit lower and more vertical over the chest, as it is due to the curvature of the female model it is slightly too horizontal to be seen effectively and leaves an exposed gap in centre of chest.

But Great work on adding all the different material options that were asked for on the Holo pieces.

And for those not on PTS yet or want to show to others - some tests I did

No bug report just a comment that the textures for the Holoforce Armor are very nice. Especially, like the addition of "Glass" it's a new texture and looks absolutely gem-like in certain colors. The PSI texture is also very nicely done.

    *throws wallet at screen*

    Give me! Give me NAOW!

I personally do not see the bugs that others have reported so far. I couldn't get the Holo Leg Accessories to not work as mentioned on a female character. *shrugs*

Random bit of awesome - the Holoforce set adds a SECOND Feet category into the tailor, thus allowing players to use the overlay on ANY foot costume piece that they'd want to use! That is AWESOME.

The new Glass material option is gorgeous.. I did this with it so far.. just as a fast test.

    Many many more at this album link;

Added more images.. The solid material options second edging color is great.

BUG: Leg Accessories on thighs have no material options, only come as glass.

Bug: Improper scaling with chest width
Where it happens: Female model, chest layer, on the spine-like bits on the back.
What happens: Several vertices either don't adjust with the slider, or adjust improperly. Really obvious if you scale chest width down, but some errors on scaling up as well.

Sadly, I'm not set up to provide screenshots, but hopefully someone else can do that.

It is with much appreciation that the costume unlocks will not be lost forever by being obtainable in a method that anyone can access. I also consider this a great new reward for LTS.

Also thanks for having the Holo and Psi material options on the new outfit. Can't wait to see how you release the rest of it.

    Bug:
Holoforce Leg Accessories do not have a material option.

Not sure about anyone else, but I saw material options for the leg accessories on females (only). Was definitely missing on males, though.

I wonder if that changes based on leg category? Can't check right now, though.

Cloth, Glass, Holohex, Metal, Psi Holo. I might be missing something.

Also the holo feet are a new feet option! I'd like to see more of the older costume pieces copied over to this feet option so I can have leg accessories with certain non leg foot pieces. Holohex leg accessory from the Power Armor costume set being a primary example since its foot wear but in leg accessories for some reason.

The cloth/leather/metal options are all non-transparent.

The glass/holo/psi options are all various levels of transparent, and match pieces that we already have so they can be used together more easily.

Great job adapting the set, looking forward to more!

What I'd really like to see is a separation of 'Foot' and 'boot legging' so we can mix and match those.

Anyone ever want to use the armor mech foot just for the legging but not for the robot duck foot? o3o

I love the new "glass" material optional in general.

Also, the quick response to the UI request is great.

Wanted to initially comment that in addition to the new feet category, I appreciate that the hovering belt buckle and the neck piece ended up in Belt Accessory and Collar respectively, leaving existing belts / hips and neck options open to use in combination.

I also love the hex texture on the jumpsuit, especially the face. The hex texture option (#3) I think that just covers just the "face" channel sections and not the part of the jumpsuit that is on the top of the head and neck creates a stunning android look.

The cloth/leather/metal options are all non-transparent.

I was actually surprised (very pleasantly) by the parts not all being transparent and them actually having these solid materials. Personally I like the pieces set to leather and metal *better* then the holographic options (though those are great and glass is an absolute wonder) and can see mixing them into all sort of tech battlesuits in the future.

And please add the spider legs!

Yeah, that is the top piece from the proposals I most wanted, so I'm really hoping it didn't get lost in the transition to actual build. It is a bit of an outrider compared to the others in feel, but so are the non angled wings that are present. Hopefully it will just be a late add.

I would like to note that the Holoforce helmet being available in Huge Rigid Helmets allows us to make truly headless characters for what I think is the first time, since we've been confined to having a hood or a mask above the neck until now. This is literally the best thing that has ever happened to the tailor from my perspective. Please don't change it. It works with every Psi texture costume piece in the game, this needs to remain a thing.

I certainly think it is. I never thought of trying it in rigid helmets though! That's pretty exciting. This costume set winning was definitely worth it.

Bug: Female(haven't tested male yet) Holoforce Helmet does not properly(or at all) adjust with head sliders(more specifically cheek, ears, & ear points) making it really easy to clip through the helm.

The issue here, unlike most parts, is that if you use one of the transparent options then it can become pretty noticable if you scale back these things so they don't clip.

And that's all I've got so far. This really should be the new base standard of everything going forward...and also some gradual backtracking please.

It is often kind of funny to use this to your advantage and make funny faces out of various items though. :D But I agree that these helmets should certainly be scaling.

^ This please. It's about time I reckon.

Also, if there is indeed sometime or consideration being paid (at least more than the usual) to player requests at this point in time, could you please consider the following:

    - Fixing Personal Force Field Defensive Passive (and possibly or more like definitely look into buffing it, a measure which I'd be more than happy to weigh in on.) The main issue with the passive is that it is not working as intended. Namely shield regeneration per 3 seconds is being cut in half in combat. This feature was removed a year or so ago and came back as the bug for PFF vs Breakfree Damage was fixed.

    - Taking a look at the QoL Bug list in this section of the forums.

Apologies for being off topic but short of making a thread dedicated to even more complaining, especially about the first issue, this is the only other way to voice it more than it's been voiced for the past goodness knows how long.

(About the bug...as it is considered "active" would a reformation of PFF or a re-roll not work?)

It wouldn't hurt for mobs and such to get a redesign and upgrade. That's for sure, especially since we seem to be getting higher quality costume bits now. I know it's unfeasible but it would be nice if they would go back over older costumes and update them and make them better quality to.

By all means, upgrade Defender, give him more polygons and textures of better resolution, but do NOT change his base design.

I'm sorry, but he still looks better than any present or upcoming costume set. He's probably the only NPC ingame* with really classic looking hero costume.

Whoever made his design got it spot on. He looks like something that could be in Marvel or DC.

Slapping together bazilion armor parts, glows and wings do not makes anything looking more superheroic.

Defender is like Tony Stark, in small ways. I think he would be going out to at least try to upgrade his power armor, especially since he is no where near the top of the power armored heroes list.

He could be upgraded by giving him kinda "extremis" verion of his armor. Some more visible seam lines, but keeping his overall art deco theme and color scheme.

Since almost all the Iron Man armors have pretty consistent design. Aside of two first ones.

Kinda like he was reimagined on the On Alert loading screen, but not as crude and bulky.

    New '52 Defender, lol.

They have a consistent profile but no the armors do not look similar to one another. The extremes being the first two and Hulkbuster armor. The rest have a more sleek profile and look similar as long as you view the profile but the finer details look different.

If they would, by in any slim chance upgrade Defender, the Harmon Industries Holographic Hexfield Nano-armor Battle Suit Prototype pieces could be used to upgrade Defender's armor, maybe with a different patterning. It's helmet even looks little like the 2nd, i think, ones helmet. Since it's not mentioned anywhere that Holoforce Armor is made by Harmon Industries.

Current Defender armor is Mark 5/6? Since the pnp books show 2 different ones, then the 1st CO armor with the 'Bulge:biggrin:' and 1 unbulged before the current with neck cover and absplate which is 5th.

The do look similar enough. Color scheme is kept consistent and the faceplate is always simplified image of noseless human face.

Applied to the Defenders design it would translate to keeping his blue-white scheme and a variation of his art-deco faceplate, and modernising the rest.

He had different armors in the past, but they were, ugh... Terrible. They had all marks of something that was, unlike his 6th ed armor, not designed by professional designer working for Cryptic.
Especially his 5th ed "I-am-generic-western-tokusatsu-fan--kitbashed-with-biker-helmet" suit.

Current Cryptic design should be the baseline for further redesigns.
