I even purchased Cyborg Beast and Steampunk Cyborg to make this for the back piece and the beast legs which was needed to get the hip wear working with the belt. Yes, those are Cyborg Beast legs. I love the gladiator pieces. Too bad they can't become metal.
Hi Trailturtle, happy to help with an avatar, and to that end, would you mind sharing a little more info on yourself, such as your current in-game character's appearance, etc.? Here's what I have based sheerly on your handle:
Dimensions kept at 80x80 because while I know you offered some leeway, it's easier to stick to what the system already allows for. Minimal fuss, maximum convenience. Small size for quick loading in any case.
Any other information you can share is useful.
Working on Lord Gar costume next. Reading his interviews.
Design LordGar a new costume in-game, and he'll start wearing it. Lord Gar's persona is a little evil, but not over the top, with a red and black color scheme for his costume. He is also afflicted with a pervasive and sickening Britishness.
As far as it being a fashion 'sin', it's commonly used in blackout-black and 1980's B-Horror red. As far as the anti-Black/redders, I can legitimately say I've seen far, far worse combos. It's a solid combo, mainly because red goes poorly with most other colors- unless you're gunning for a peppermint or Christmas theme.
As far as it being a 'sin', I will legitimately say that's a matter of preference. I say obnoxious glow and metal-everything is the worst.

Definitely feel free. Not sure I'll do a prize for it -- or might do a full contest later on for this, if it's a popular idea -- but always feel free.
I'm not only putting up a vote for this- but also for possibly redoing the proportions of the Archetypes. Not the costumes, but redoing the proportions... they're... really bad.

Take that a step forward and just host a contest to redo the archetype defaults. Seriously, they're terrible far beyond the proportions.
Y'know, people get hung up on "black and red" in that thread, without noting that it's stated in the very first post that the issue is in fact with folks who use the flattest black, down in the lower left corner, and neon red, with glow turned up to max - and nothing else. Seriously, look at the exemplars in that post.
Don't look too long, though - you might damage your retinas.

Cool, that's good stuff. I realize now I've seen Iris Irregular before, the red blue holo combo. I didn't know about the energy swords, but that's great for an avatar.
I combined those elements for red and blue energy blades. They're like your signature weapons, so I thought they'd make a good signature for you.
(Sterga, thanks for the shout out. I don't know if you feel this is an improvement.)

It's nice, but I like the turtle being that it's cute and all. ... Don't tell anyone I said that. It might hurt my image as a cold, bitter, angry jerk. Plus, the catgirls will shed all over my home or possibly leave me the gift of flea babies.

Don't worry, Sterga. I totally appreciate how you cultivated your hardcore reputation, so my lips are sealed, mum's the word, it's just you and me in this conversation that never happened. And we'll just hope no one sees our posts up in here.
But seriously, thanks for weighing in. I actually really like your point.
So, below is my single costume design, with a 1-page Secret Origins-style comic:
INB4 that's not what a Live Producer does. I know, I know. I reckon Live Producers shepherd large-scale online projects in real-time, coordinate different teams, and manage generally stuff. I just thought a literal interpretation of the title was funnier.
Lord Gar's persona is a little evil, but not over the top, with a red and black color scheme for his costume. He is also afflicted with a pervasive and sickening Britishness.
So, just to share where I was coming from. I didn't want to overplay Tom's Britishness. To many of you, he's very British. To him, why's everyone's so American. So I just gave him a Redcoat as is befitting a colonial tyrant.
I also liked this idea of him in a suit of power armour under that jacket. He's really this technological powerhouse, all sorts of advanced gadgets underneath that archaic garb. It hammers in this sense of grimdark.
And then I gave him this darkly beatific porcelain mask, just as this costume, this avatar, is a mask for Tom to wear in-game. It's like combining King Baldwin IV from that fictional movie with a sense of...doom, if you will.
Finally, just so all my gift art is in one place, my previous 2 avatars for TT:

Iris Irregular's my main -- here's one of the images of her.
Would you mind if we also made an alternate costume for Iris? You don't have to use it, but I think it'd be cool if Iris had a variant outfit or two.
Definitely feel free. Not sure I'll do a prize for it -- or might do a full contest later on for this, if it's a popular idea -- but always feel free.

That's pretty awesome.
Also: The problem isn't with black and red, it's with people who don't know how to use colors tastefully.

Or perhaps just a classy gentleman with a rifle to spare is just all we need?

It's a more serious try, but I'm pretty sure I made the glowie parts too glowie so perhaps I'm not that serious.

As you said the name was from a Game of Thrones character, I went with a formal fantasy style.
