Is the XMPP server going to be up anytime soon? At this point, it's been down 10 hours and counting -- almost 3 hours longer than the PC game servers. :(
Unless he had a child/children before he left for this mission, that would be unlikely, seeing how he doesn't make it past this mission. Great-great grand-uncle, perhaps? I accidentally found a possible solution to the rifle problem. On a whim, I looked to see what other instances were there and when I saw one (of several)…
I'm glad to hear this, and am looking forward to it. It makes me sad when I see my mid-30s Captain with gray in his black beard. Edit: To add to this, could we possibly see darker shades of brown eyes? Even the darkest shade currently available is far too light. The eyes of people with ethnically brown eyes (Asians,…
Tell that to the griefers who love plopping those things down wherever they go, much to the chagrin of people like me who loathe them (and the party poppers). They should not be able to be used in stations like ESD, K-7, and DS9. Drozona...? Maybe. Risa? Definitely. But not places like ESD. At least we don't still have the…
(Side note: Kerbal Space Program has given me a better understanding of orbital mechanics than I've ever received before. There's a demo available for anyone who wants to see what it's like (or buy it and support its development for just $27).) If ESD is supposed to by in geosynchronous orbit, then it will be at an…
Well, then then even my artistic eye must be missing something here. Take a look... Holodeck vs Tribble Overlaid I took the Holodeck and Tribble images, blew them up 300% (which is usually a no-no with raster (pixelized) images), made the Tribble image 50% transparent, overlaid the Tribble image on top of the Holodeck…
I was curious myself about the differences, if any, between Holodeck and Tribble, so I did a character copy of my Asian (Chinese) character and took screenshots without changing any settings. Holodeck vs Tribble Face Comparison The major difference I see between Holodeck and Tribble (other than the intensity of the…
One thing I've noticed is that in the area around Ops/Quinn's office, one can hear the sounds of impulse engines (or at least the same sound effect that is used when under impulse power). It can be heard throughout ops, and about 10 meters outside of the ops walls.
Related to this, is there a way to prevent them from going semi-transparent at certain points? I'm not sure exactly what triggers the switch from opaque to semi-transparent, but it seems to be positionally-related, i.e. the position of the ship with respect to the dock. When I move my ship forward from the "docked"…
Long-lingering question I have for the NPC people: why does Commander Shoko Futagami (who is apparently of Japanese heritage, based on her name) have blue eyes?
It's in the shuttle bay. And I'm pretty sure I saw the prompt to beam to SFA in the transporter room, but I'll have to confirm that. Edit: Yep, it's there, as long as you're in the transporter room (and even a few feet outside of it).
I think the Nemesis drydocks -- at least some of them -- could use a bit of upscaling (25-33%, 50% at most, but that's probably too much) so they could accommodate an Odyssey class (Starfleet's largest starship ever built) more comfortably (I doubt a Galaxy/Venture class could fit in the Nemesis drydock without completely…
Speaking of the glass ramp, did you see this post on the March 20th patch thread, Taco? Also ESD-related... Just wanted to bring these to your attention in the appropriate thread (which I discovered after making that post) if you hadn't seen them. :)
Makes it kind of hard to test kits with costumes, then, huh? :( But that's not always the case. I do have access to some unlocked costumes (see my edited message above), but not all, so it's not consistant on what unlocks it knows about. Tribble just needs to honor all unlocks and be done with it, rather than this…
Woo! The patcher works! :D Tacofangs: Please put glass or banisters or rocks or something (something that would block access but not "water flow" -- but NOT invisible walls because invisible walls SUCK) on the sides of the glass ramps with the waterfalls under them to avoid any unfortunate upskirt perversions.…
I just ran a forced verify, which took about 15 minutes. During the whole time, memory usage by "Star Trek Online.exe *32" was about 168MB. The app itself was in "not responding" mode (constant "wait" cursor), but Task Manager showed it was active. When it finished, it started patching again. Memory usage shot up to about…
Outstanding! I love charts like these! One little nit-pick, though: The Ha'apax, Ha'nom, Ha'feh, classes (and their mirror counterparts) are for Subadmiral I and above, rather than "Subcommader" [sic] listed, and those listed for Subadmiral -- the retrofit classes -- are for Vice Admiral (as well as all fleet ships).…
To go along with the floor texture comment, a so-called "coin grip" flooring material might work better (look for that term on Google Images for examples). A diamond plating might look too industrial for Starfleet's cleanliness. One other thing I noticed is that the reflections on the Pool Table are odd. On the near end…
I noticed that the exchange consoles weren't active (glowing/sparkling) until I had reached level 10. Before that, only the bank and mail consoles were active.
I had to wait several minutes for the taskmaster, but I had problems with the guard captain spawning immediately after being killed. I had to fight him 4 times before someone else took over.
