  • Guys, I understand your replies, but the GM I had contact with (through the ingame ticket system and later via e-mail) specifically requested me to post the contents of my ticket on these forums.
  • Pity. Is it a well placed nerf, an oversight or intentional design?
  • This is a very useful list. Thank you.
  • No, I'm referring to the skill Electro-Plasma System Flow.
  • Hmm...in that case, it'd be nice if the tooltip was updated to reflect that. And the shield effect'll have to be fixed, since it's not supposed to trigger.
  • On Tribble at least, it does not. Can anyone confirm this to be working as intended?
  • The news is summarized in the STO launcher. The giveaway was listed there after 2 days. I'd say that's a legitimate complaint.
  • If you're using disruptors/phasers with the undine rep set, I found that tactical console to be fairly solid. For one thing, it'll boost 2 damage types instead of one. On the other hand, the 2p bonus (if that is why you use it) is far more potent than most console damage buffs. But that's just me of course.
  • To be honest, I can see a starship make a 'threatening stance'. It'd consist of a combination of irritating attacks (like when Sisko ordered the Peregrine attack wing to get the Cardassians to break line), looking formidable (maybe sending out some false sensor readings), moving or attacking in a way that draws attention…
  • Hmm...I was kinda excited about the new system, but it sounds like it'll be a pain to work with. Guess I'll be spending some massive time on Tribble making VERY sure I got the right build. Wouldn't it be possible to make a respec token with an infinite amount of uses, that lasts for 1 day? That way you can experiment and…
  • It'd be nice to be able to test a build before committing to it, yes.
  • It seems nobody knows. As far as I could tell the micro torpedos seemed to be the same as regular photons (when compared to the relative effects of hangar pet quantums). Can anyone confirm that it is just a differently named photon torpedo?
  • One of the issues I have with the new system (and with the old one as well) that it remains very hard to tell whether certain things affect certain other things. For example, does Intimidating Strikes count as a control effect? And what about Gravimetric Torpedo? Does it benefit from effects that affect control effects and…
  • A trait that increases pet flight speed would be something to consider imho. For my escort carrier, the main reason hangar pets do so little is because they simply cannot keep up. If they flew faster (or the rest of the ships slower), they'd actually get to participate in the fight.
  • Insoafar the hangar pet buffs go, one particular effect that'd be very useful to me is to increase their flight speed. Just having them keep up with my ship would make them a LOT more effective. That would certainly be worth a trait point.
  • Maybe the range equalization that was planned will even things up a bit. Basically, beams get a 0-10% nerf while cannons get a similar buff. You could all be using turret boats 1 year from now. :)
  • Integrated features would be nice, but on the other hand, does it really matter that much if you swap out one or even a few consoles? The specials is what make the ship stand out from any others you play. That by itself is enough reason for me to use them. Otherwise it's just a different visual for the same ship every time.
  • It's a very cool effect and will add some variation to your playing style. The 'shiny effect' consoles are rarely worth using if you're concerned about dps. However, if you make a decent build you will have some leeway to use 'fun abilities' and they will make the game a lot more enjoyable. Why would you even fly different…
  • Agreed. Especially the 'guides' that are little more than a list of 'do this to win' comments. The reasoning behind the choices is far more useful imho. While going from 40k to 50k dps is useful, it's by no means as critical als going from 5k to 10k. So make sure that whatever build you end up with, is something that works…
  • Why not expand the current commando spec with hangar pet traits? It'd have to be renamed to something like CrewChief or something.
  • That was actually a very stupid mistake on my part. Sorry for missing it, it should have been obvious. :) You can also look at it like this: it's a 20% chance for double damage. The way I understand it (and I may be mistaking here, so apologies if that's the case) is that the electro-plasma buff works combined with the…
  • How about Intimidating Strikes? It gives every torpedo a 10% chance to confuse, and you basically get to fire one every second (every 2 seconds, but add 1 projectile doff to increase it's firing rate). Also, you could combine it with the console from the set. That boosts projectile damage but isn't a tactical console.
  • To me, the heavy escort carrier is the best carrier in game. Yes, I know it only gets 1 hangar but it can also use the pilot skill to summon more fighters so that evens it out. And apart from that, it's a very flexible and durable escort with plenty of engineering slots.
  • I did get an odd bug though. Sometimes, an old command 'hangs for a while' and I could have part of my hangar docked, and part in fight when I sent them all a command to fight. Reïssuing the command usually fixes it though.
  • Bort was right: you ARE overreacting. All of the changes are still in an early stage. Give proper feedback and things can get fixed before it goes live. Any 'nerfs' at this point are part of refining a system, not deliberate deceptions. Also, keep in mind that when you do things differently, but still take the same time to…
  • What exactly have you heard? From what I can see at a glance, torpedo builds are actually buffed (more shield & armor penetration).
  • So far, it seems it'll be neither. Instead, it'll just be different. For one thing, hangar pets can be buffed now. There's also increased shield penetration, which may be more useful to my character than crit since its an engineer. And as has been stated by others, it's still too early to tell the impact.
  • Then give him the feedback, and hope that he will listen to it. It's all you can do, really.
  • Exactly. The last thing we should do now that they're finally communicating the way we prefer, is to verbally attack them. That'd simply mean they'll go back to the old way of handling things.
