Also am hearing very bad things about torpedoes which would be very sad.
What exactly have you heard? From what I can see at a glance, torpedo builds are actually buffed (more shield & armor penetration).

Yeah, I think torpedoes and cannons are the real winners (so far) for the skill update. Those are where I've seen the greatest buffs.

I think the biggest losers are survivability and maybe science (still holding out for some more fixes/rebalancing to powers).

PEP torpedo is currently not being buffed by exotic damage. Likely a bug. Every other torpedo seems the same or even better like the Quantum phase.

Well my bfaw scimitar seems much squishier and a bit less effective. But to be honest I was just using if for spacebar spamming through content. I think there could be lots of complaints when this goes live, but for me I am so casual now it's mostly a 'meh' situation. I will bet there are lots of players that will be happy if bfaw spamboats get knocked down a lot. ;)

I had really thought of spending some serious resources upgrading my science main at the next upgrade weekend, but that is now on hold.

I will wait for more info/possible changes before commenting more.

Scims and BFAW needed a major nerf and I am so happy to hear that yours got nerfed. Nothing against you but a comment that reflects how a lot of people feel about BFAW. So YEA Devs!

    TLDR;

Too early to tell keep testing and giving borticus useful feedback without being a complete ****-hole to him.

Personally I dont know how the changes will affect any of my builds until all goes live come the time.
Even if (doooom scenario), its a massive crushing nerf (and I dont think it will be), it will be to everyone so it doesnt seem as bad, more like a global rebalancing.
Thinking about it, the same could be said for an all singing all dancing roaring success.
It's global, game wide, to everyone so everyone will have to adapt and I actually look forwardto it.

"Has it been a nerf or a buff to your build?"

Personally, it won't matter. I will learn, I will quickly adapt, and I will be better than most others in the game.

Even after getting the hang of the new system, I always keep my ears and eyes open for gouge on how to be better from other players. So it won't matter.

Going to lose some systems power, some shield and hull regen as well as shield and hull capacity to maintain current offensive capabilities. Maybe have to change repulsors to something else. Also am hearing very bad things about torpedoes which would be very sad.

btw I predict this will come out the last week of March or the first week of April right after crystalline which I expect to begin on March 3rd.

Same boat my Engineer main is in.

Lose out on survivability to keep the damage she once had, but it can be slightly mitigated by captain skills.

Not even tried my Tactical and Science characters, yet. I know for sure that they will suffer terribly to make the same damage they do now...

It looks like it will be quite a substantial buff to damage output for my builds, both ground and space. Durability looks like it will stay about the same. This is assuming that Grav Well radius remains about the same after it's fixed.

So far it's a nerf to almost all my builds except for one. Which is a pure Tac DPS build. That one character got buffed, but not by very much. I would say about 10% roughly, so it's more of meh for me.
