I'm glad the show will be available for people to watch again, and I hope it gets enough views for them to actually renew it for a S2 one day. Until then, it is effectively "cancelled". But if they think it will make money, they'll come back to it.

Plus, if I understand correctly FTL in SW is actually traveling through an alternate dimension rather than simply traveling normal distance like in Trek. It seems like it would be impossible to reasonably compare these 2 things.

That is 100% not true. Whatever these recent events will actually mean for STO remains to be seen, but (that situation) is absolutely not dependent upon some PR spin statement from the company. All companies try to make situations sound better than they really are, so all PR type statements should be seriously questioned.…

IMO, the show is not "saved" yet. To me, "saved" would be actually renewed for more seasons in the future. AFAIK Netflix has picked up the rights to stream the show and will release S2 which was already made, so they are not actually funding anything new (not made) yet. If a S3 happens, that would actually be "saved" IMO.
