Yeah. I read through this thread way back and managed not to comment, but I thought I'd read through it again in light of the Console release and see if the choices made more sense. I think they did. And I think the existing Mac client was worthless, and a new Mac client would have been a rewrite rather than a wrapper. But…
I don't blame them for killing the Mac client, but "about the same" cost is a comical claim. There's no way there was that much effort in the Mac client. However, I think it's likely to get a good Mac client, they'd have had to put that much effort in. And with Apple shifting how 3d should be done on the Mac, I agree it…
I think by now you realize we don't all think it's a wast of time, but I wanted to let you know I'll be logging in tonight despite being unusually busy just to see this new map.
I have no suggestions, but I'm able to play without problems. And I do get the shader error on startup, so that's not your problem. From the day of DR, no problem. OS X 10.10 (14A389) [though I was using 14A388a until yesterday; stable under both] MacBookAir5,2 Intel Core i7 2 GHz Intel HD Graphics 4000
It really should be. Game development is a lot more specialized. It should be easier to find talented developers for the web site. It's funny that the forums survive, though. Suggests they're fully outsourced from someone who knows what they're doing.
Imagine if Yahoo (for instance) gave those commenters balloons and pelvic thrusting emotes they could use on other commenters. People are, indeed, jerks. But STO has given them more tools to be jerks than most places have.
There comes a point where, in light of sales, your regular price is viewed as insane. STO is well past that point. I think the regular price is just costing them money right now. I am NOT in a position to buy a lifetime right now, even if it's on sale. But when I am, the regular price will stop me.
His tag says community manager. That's like customer service, but without the specifics. My guess is that he monitors what we say when things are going well to report the sort of things we're saying to development, pokes thread to pull them back to positive, and possibly wields a ban hammer. Close, bran? :)
I don't think you should! I'm sure their load was quite a bit higher than on a regular day due to people being excited (or dreading) to see the changes.
You think you guys could put a bit of effort into your website? Being down due to heavy traffic for a half hour every day of this giveaway is ridiculous, and should be solved for next time.
I went to a lot of effort install the ARC client on the Mac. Even after fully patching, it takes over ten minutes for the client to start up. The client is sluggish and constantly flickering. All of that to get to the Khan outfit, select it, and find that it's not really available once I switch back to the regular Mac…
The timer is based on AFK, not DPS. I've had awful, awful rounds and not been thrown out. The way I see it, there's two possibilities here: 1. The game mechanics were fooled by your friend. 2. You were fooled by your friend. I'm not saying #1 is impossible, and if it happened that's tragic. And hopefully it'll be fixed.…
Kind of curious how this works. The existing launcher is awful; is this one better or worse? It took me along time to get the game running, though, so I'm not about to try.
This is a secondary issue. There's a deeper issue: We don't want to. People are awesome. But also, people suck. Just teaming up with them in PVEs, I realize what a immoral, exploiting, lazy bunch of *******s play this game sometimes. Now you want to MAKE me FIGHT them? No thank you.
