I did not think of that, it also may be doing it because the ranger is a tier 5 ship and i haven't made it to captain yet. That being said however as it's a variant skin for the paladin ship i should be able to purchase and use it

that is an interesting looking ship, and I may go back and side with the romulan's.. a shame that alien is the best 'race' to use as I like both the romulan and reman. While the look of the KDF is and always will be my favorite the romulan's have the best high tech looking ships imo

yes the legacy of romulas starter pack (thankfully i still can pick up the ship), the ds9 pack (doesn't let me get the special officer for my ship, and no weapons.. tos pack is not there but thankfully i can get all of it but the weapons)

I am not adverse to playing a tactical captain, but could you explain the rewards for playing one? I know that science has a good amount of debuffs and engineers from what I remember were the tankier types and could mend shields and make turrets and such.

okay seems things have slowed down considerably and since I am wanting to play I'll be giving an update; I will be playing a science officer that much is certain now. As for what species I don't know yet but I will be going with kdf which means the choices are down to klingon or gorn, possibly orion.

From what I've investigated the kdf and rom both have science ships very early, in fact the deh'lan (sp?) is set for two science officers, one engineer and one tactical. The raptor is the same way, they may not call them 'science' ships and you have to do a bit of work for certain things but I think they can easily be made…
