Oh yeah, that whole facer thing was way over the top. But I do remember Sir Patrick saying he tried a French accent back at the beginning of TNG, and that he thought it was terrible. I suspect he would have sounded more like he did when he spoke French to Number One (his dog) in the vineyard.
To be fair, if his French accent would have been anything close to that facer character he played on Freecloud in season 1 of Picard, then he was right.
During season 1 of Strange New Worlds, there do actually appear to be exterior scenes where the blast door over the viewscreen is closed. It inspired me to use the Gamma saucer section on my Flight Deck Cruiser, since the hull where the window is on the SNW version gives the impression of having a panel over it. -…
Indeed. Many don't remember this, but Captain Picard was also an absolute potty mouth by TV standards of the 80's during season 1 of TNG. Merde was his choice of profane exclamation, which is of course French for s***. The writers probably only stopped having him say it because the censors cottoned on to it. I believe it…
I’m not really sure how the Star Trek IP has been twisted considering The Original Series alone brought us classics like Balance of Terror and The Doomsday Machine on one hand, and Spock’s Brain and Turnabout Intruder on the other. The stories have always varied in quality, and believe it or not, once upon a time The Next…
Unfortunately, the post you replied to says it’s blocked, but that might be because I don’t have an account on Bluesky as I’m social media averse in general. I have to say though, based on what I can see, I can understand Tumerboy’s reaction, as it comes across as being something of a lecture about the quality of his work,…
Happy certainly isn’t a description I’d be inclined to use, purely because it feels disrespectful to the people who have found themselves out of a job. However, I am cautiously optimistic that DECA Games will re-evaluate some of the decisions made by Cryptic, such as the starship interiors that ship aficionados like myself…
Yeah, the age of the Odyssey-class in general is one of the biggest disparities between the game and TV timelines. Then again, the lore written for pretty much all the ships that were used in Picard has them entering service within the 2409 to 2411 timeframe. It’s not an easy change to reconcile, even when using Butterfly…
Interesting, in the smaller picture you posted from Instagram, I couldn’t see any of that. Having found a much larger image on James Chung’s website however, I can see what you mean about the convex curves being more apparent, particularly on the main dockyard structure and midsection. The ring below the midsection even…
Would you mind pointing out the differences between the concept art and the final version of the new Spacedock, because aside from the rings beneath the pods and some yellow lighting, I can't see much of a difference? Indeed, but in terms of the broad strokes, the two timelines can fit together, especially if Butterfly is…
Yeah, the response was about what you'd expect really. Generally positive with some mixed reactions, and a handful that were right out of the playbook of the worst that YouTube has to offer. Interestingly, the reaction to Probert Station being added to the game has been more positive than I expected. A key talking point…
Before season three of Picard began, the Enterprise-F had no reputation in the canon. When STO created it, it was so the game would have its own Enterprise with a captain who would be available to appear on a regular basis. Also, what you’re calling a reputation is for the most part two years worth of accolades that…
As an old school fan myself, I can assure you, you don’t speak for me. Whilst Discovery and Picard may have elements that I don’t like or necessarily agree with, you’ve made the common mistake of thinking that because a thousand people are yelling; the million that are silent don’t exist. I should also note that of the…
Well, this is embarrasing. By chance, I was looking at Ex Astris Scienta this evening, and it turns out the Ambassador-class model isn't glitched. - Enterprise-C Filming Model - - Yamaguchi Filming Model -
You know, based on what we saw in the Season 3 finale, a MW/Intel Galaxy-class would fit perfectly. Sure, Data's piloting heroics might make a secondary Pilot spec seem feasible, but the Enterprise-D essentially spent the first half of the episode gathering intelligence, with Dr. Crusher using surgical precision to…
It would actually make a certain amount of sense if some of the Alliances cooperative efforts stalled during J'mpok's reign as Emperor. You'd have to think the installation of L'Rell as Chancellor would complicate matters as well, given the tumultuous relationship between the two powers during her first reign. In fact, I'd…
Hi Kael, This month, I have some questions about shuttlecraft. Three years ago, our resident shipwright Thomas Marrone posted a Jayce’s Navy Interstellar article for the Pathfinder-class starship. On page 60, the ship’s shuttle compliment is said to include the Type 11 shuttlecraft from Star Trek Insurrection. Given that…
Hi Kael, Since communicators were added to the Discovery era Starfleet transporter effect three years ago, two issues have affected those characters. - Discovery Starfleet Away Team - Initiating Transport - First, when beaming, all members of the away team pull out their communicators, as illustrated above. This is unusual…
Hi Kael, I’ve found a number of visual issues with ships that I’ve purchased over the past few years, and I was wondering if you could confirm whether the following are on the to-do list, and if not, if you could please forward them to the ship team? - Discovery Constitution-Class - Original Hull Lighting (left) vs.…
Another discovery for the list. Both nacelle types for the original series skin of the Legendary T'Liss Light Intel warbird have the same green warp trails used on the refit version. - T'Liss-class Warp Trails -
I've just noticed that the Galaxy-class model has lost what the TNG technical manual calls the saucer section deflector dish, which is denoted by the four square lights above the ventral registry number. Since I have images of the ship from June last year with the deflector intact, it's possible that the Reflections update…
If the EMH Mk. I duty officer was classified as a doctor within the game's framework, then he wouldn't be able to beam down to tend to our medical needs in an emergency. The nurse classification is simply to facilitate that ability when added to our active ground staff.
I’m not familiar with those bugs, but if you can either describe them or post some screenshots, feel free. One other bug I am familiar with however, is the Saucer Separation Console’s reconnection animation on the Legendary Galaxy-class Dreadnaught, which reapplies the saucer without going through the docking process…
@"chrian#9670" Hi Chrian, I saw that you've posted in a few threads over the last few days, so I just wanted to bring these to your attention, just incase you hadn't made it this far down the list.
Nah, it can't be that as the fleet Malachowski is also incorrect. Plus, the other Discovery ships in the Zen store can use the models from the show as well, and they (along with their fleet counterparts) have their own unique warp trail colour based on what was used for the nacelle lighting.
I've got some more bugs to add to the list. The hull of the Type 7 Shuttlecraft deforms at full impulse, resulting in it appearing to fold in on itself. - Deformed Hull - Also, having been briefly fixed, both versions of the Intrepid-class mess hall once again have the large object/artefact taking up a large part of the…
A few more bugs for the thread. The impulse trails on the Constellation-class model doen't correspond to the engines on the ship. - Impulse Engine Trails - The the back wall around the clamshell doors of the Constitution and Pioneer-class interior shuttlebays are missing. As a result, characters can fall into the abyss,…
Both versions of the Miranda-class port (left) nacelle have an issue with the registry on both the inner and outer surfaces. - Nacelle Registry Markings - - Beta Version Markings - There is no option to remove the decal from the fin of the Legendary T’Liss Warbird. - T’Liss Warbird Decal - Both the 2371 and 2410 Voyager…
So, I was researching names to use on one of my Nebula-class starships last night, and settled on the U.S.S. Monitor due to the name's place in history, and the existence of a namesake Nebula in canon. Sadly, it turns out that Monitor is another restricted name. To put this into historical context for those who are…
