I don't think they will invest thousands of dollars/man-hours/whatever to port this game to XBOX just for the few dozen people who use a keyboard with their XBOX :P
Really? No. Ships are not a "luxury" (like i.e. housing) if you can't fly a ship (because you are out of dil), you can't play the game (and you can't get any dil either, because wait times on ground queues are longer than a player's average play session).
True way does not really care about the Average Cardassijoe as long as they gain power. But for Cardassian Civil government to ally with the Dominion would be no different than for Romulan Republic to ally with the Elachi, simply inconceivable. Cardassian faction would probably incorporate some elements of the former…
Well, you'll get another one when you return home/start playing again. There are at least 3 free ships a year for regular special events (summer, winter, anniversary), sometimes more, I don't think it's *that* bad to miss one free ship if you happen to be so far from civilization as to have no pc and internet for an entire…
So, the bottom point is "I am a casual player and I have no time to do the 3 minute daily event to obtain a ship I would never be able to use, because I don't even have 3 minutes a day to play STO"? =_='
Euh... "i keep getting awarded new ships" makes me believe you are counting the single-use ships that you get for free as extra ships as assignment rewards, but they are not permanent. They disappear on use. Only permanent ships (as in, ships you activate and you can actually fly around) result as permanent Admiralty…
You have waited 5 years for STO to revamp pvp? Really? :| Well, I hope you are not waiting for DOTA or Counterstrike to add a pve campaign as well, because you'll have to wait quite a bit... :D
It has been discussed a lot, it has been pointed out this is not a "we won, yay" ending, as in the Dominion war (where Federation could dictate terms, imprison founders and such). It's rather a "whoah, we didn't get annihilated? awesome!" ending where the Alliance could do little but acknowledge that barely surviving…
Well, with doffing, admiralty, a CCA and a couple patrols you should get pretty close to the cap with minimal effort (20 minutes?) and get enough contraband (or EC to buy contraband) for a daily turn in...
Dismiss your C-Store/Event ships you aren't currently using, and dry-dock the non-reclaimable ones. If that isn't enough, 5 extra dry-dock slots cost about 6 days of refining with 2 free characters. Not trivial, but not a huge deal either.
Well, in that case, I don't see what is the "problem" that cryptic will have to "face". If these characters are already unused/disposable, it means they are not active/paying characters so deleting them should not be a problem financially (even less so technically).
It is not about explaining how every weapon works with every buff under every condition. You just need to show how a single item (weapon, buff, whatever) is applied, then it's up to the player to sum it up. There are only 2 falloff types (beam and cannon). There are only 4 power levels to explain. There are a few types of…
Well, if you consider that: - There will most certainly be a service sale right before, or during the event - On a sale, 4 character slots cost more or less the same as a single Rep space set worth of dilithium (or about 7 days of refining with the 3 free characters). I'd hardly say dumping characters is required at all.
Yep, I remember there was a point when there was no ZEN at all being sold, so you had to queue your purchase request at cap amount (500AD per ZEN), and wait for 3-4 weeks till ALL previous requests were fulfilled. And that situation wasn't even a time limited occurrence, it lasted for several months. So, having a limiting…
The problem with Cryptic games (Neverwinter has the same problem) is that tooltips don't draw on actual database parameters/formulas, but they are mostly handwritten. So often some dev modifies the ingame item and forgets to update the tooltip, and we have a shield absorbing 10% damage but the tooltip says 20% (Iconian Rep…
These things are over 15 km long... more than the firing range in STO, because of engine limitations you probably couldn't shoot at something standing right in front of you :P (Also, all titans are terribly ugly, i'd rather pick a mothership)
That's why some of us stocked up T5 ships when Admiralty was first announced :P Prices on "consolation prize" ships are slowly going down though. We probably won't see a mirror ship for 75-150k anymore, but it's not unreasonable to think they will slowly drift down to 500-750k once most players start filling up their…
I hope a similar event comes around again, but not the exact same Delta Recruit with same prizes (wouldn't do any good). Maybe a Gamma Recruit, or Some-new-rep Recruit, or whatever else.
Well, considering it is an extremely limited giveaway, I hope it is a "limited edition" (like the Mirror Guardian) with its own skin and Admiralty card, rather than just a basic Science Vessel Refit (that was given away for free years ago).
This reminded me of the wow's classic "Hi, i'm quitting the game and to thank the amazing community that helped me I'm giving away all my stuff. Send me any amount of gold and i'll send you back double." Would that work on STO too? :P
There are some cheap-ish (2-3mil EC or so) mirror science ships with ~50 SCI on the exchange. Nothing huge, but it doesn't cost hundreds of millions either.
Yep, this is something I really appreciated on Cryptic games. There can be more than one character with the same name (just like in real life), but still with a unique ID (like in real life).
The latest (1992?) edition of the official Klingon Dictionary contained less than 2000 words (1800 or so) IIRC. But even if you put together the top 5 languages used on STO, they are still insufficient :P
They actually do lots of stuff requiring continuous maintenance. They just forget to mantain it after a couple patches! See exploration clusters, they made a dozen available, then they added a grand total of one during the first seasons (borg space), and after that they forgot they ever existed. :D
Well, depends on what warbird you got. If it's a cruiser-like warbird, like a D'khellra or a Kara, don't even think of using (dual) cannons. Most (all?) warbirds can mount dual weapons, but not all warbirds are suited to use them. On a lighter warbird like a Jhu'ael or Faeht, the above suggestions can apply.
