Once again -- it's not the Enterprise I'm talking about, but the Kelvin. Let me spell this out -- I didn't say that Geordi did *non cochrane spec* work -- re-read what I typed. What I typed was that Geordi, Picard, et al. polluted the timeline *WITH COCHRANE* they didn't remove his memories, his experiences, etc. when they…
It's not about the Enterprise, but the Kelvin, who at introduction was radically different than the NX-01 to TOS transition ships we're familiar with in the regular prime-verse
*sighs* There's no hole. Cochrane's Phoenix is the branching point for the warp engines, not the Narada. Without the TNG prime-universe pollution, we get the bulkier JJ-verse nacelles.
Don't forget that the Borg are not interested in the local area of space until Q brought the Federation, etc. to their attention during TNG (7,000 LY or so -- TNG episode "Q Who") Without that event we don't know exactly when "normal" borg contact would've occurred for the empires in the local area, and thus all the…
Could always play the DS9 card and say the outpost was setup near a wormhole to the cloud...would give a "fresh" exploration angle while keeping one end of the stories grounded in the proper area.
I haven't really done any "in depth" reviews, that's more evil70th's thing...I'm just playing missions and maybe pointing out some things here and there, but mostly just sharing the fun of foundry. So I guess what I'm saying is that I'll play a mission, but don't expect the kind of thing evil70th does :)
You certainly do have some very strongly held opinions. All I can tell you is Star Charts wasn't enough. When I make a foundry mission I want to have a place, I want it to be in a reasonably sensible universe. In short: it. must. make. sense. Mandel, et al. make maps that are beautiful works of art...I honestly love to…
You need to get out more, Star Charts isn't the "official" map...STO's map only loosely follows Star Charts and has made some notable differences. In fact Star Charts doesn't map a number of key episode locations...it's just a map "for fun" and not really any attempt to reconcile Trek events to reality, or STO, or the…
The KDF spotlight "Grapok in the General's Lung" is, if you catch the hints, half of the plot revolves around the fallout from a "Host Black Market Contacts" DOFF spectacular-critical failure.
This. 100 times this. The expectation that any author should either create multiple customized dialogs that have no plot purpose and/or "bland-down" dialog and/or should be able to anticipate your Half-Romulan/Half-Vulcan/Half-Klingon hybrid double-agent pirate is totally unreasonable. Un. Reas. On. Able. You want to know…
As a milestone: all the existing STO sectors have been "plopped" and the overall map is updated to reflect this. Integration of TNG seasons about 70% complete. The stars database has over 11,000 entries.
The one caveat to Y-axis is don't use reach markers...in my experience the casual player will have problems locating them. So if you make Y-axis changes that are going to be beyond the radius of a reach, better plop a flasher.
that's somewhat hard not knowing exactly what you are doing to convert the story...but...if I were doing this play I'd have the player in Aufidius' role. titus as head of the primary (or great) house of the world and agrippa (now female and titus' wife) coriolanus as head of his own house, subsidiary to titus (members:…
I've taken to having a short hand when referencing slider positions and colors. For slider positions I write down a rough %-age from left to right. For colors I write down the row and column next to that item entry (because not all the palettes use the same matrix of colors.) so as a rough example, hair style & color:…
