Just checking back. Still can't log in....its been what, 2 weeks now? I gave up trying about five days ago and as far as I can see, no solution. Time to spend my sub money on a game that works.
I tried some of the fixes myself when this began. I decided to NOT do that anymore since it didn't work and I've said earlier in the thread every other MMO game installed works perfectly on my machine. (SWTOR, Secret World, EVE). Trk isn't on TV anymore, so losing "old timers" seems like a bad idea. With the new Star Wars…
The longer they take, the more I become disinterested in the game. I'm going to can my sub when it expires this month unless its fixed. I'm not paying for a game I can't even log into.
So have I, and quite plainly I've been playing other games instead. I may give them a bit more time to say or do something, but if I check back here and nothing has been happening I'll spend my sub dollars elsewhere. Why should I pay for a game that I can't even log in to and the devs don't even respond to problems?
If you have to choose which game to subscribe to pay for SWTOR and play STO for free. At least SWTOR works, looks better and they get on top of things when theres a problem like this.
Glad it worked for you. I tried via steam after reading your post and it isn't working for me. I have other things to do right now, so I guess I'll have to wait and see if it ever gets fixed. Which may be some time since I'm losing interest in this pretty fast.
Official statement.....Star Trek Online, a perfect advertisement for SWTOR/EVE Online/DnD Online/Secret World. Because I've always had problems with this game loading and crashing. I actually expect it NOT to work more than I expect to play it.
I did all of that several times and late LATE last night got into the game. Tried again this morning, no problems. Went to class, came home tried...BAM. Same crash after character is loaded. I'm not going through all of that again. I'll try and check back to see if anyone has a solution, but in the mean time I'm going to…
Well, I had hoped that the maintenance today would solve my log in problem, but it did not. Even in safe mode I still get knocked out of the game as soon as I begin loading a character. I don't really have any ideas left as what to do.
Lol....the worst part of my 23 year military career was being stationed in New Jersey as a recruiter. If the world needed an TRIBBLE they'd have to stick it in New Jersey.
Its an old joke that I've said many times in the past.... If you want to start an argument discuss Religion, Politics or Star Trek....and I'm surprised there haven't been wars fought over Star Trek. Since the maps in the game are not canon, and are there simply for Game Play I don't particularly care if there are different…
Lets hope. Its a bit frustrating because I don't see any error listed. Just a message that my cryptic application as crashed on a GUI to send an error report.
Since the game isn't "canon" does it really matter? If something like this is going to upset you I'd advise against looking at any continuity errors in Trek History. Most fans I think learn to live with them....at least the ones that aren't too big.
I just tried that with no joy. A shame really, since I only recently came back to STO and I was really having fun with the foundry the past few days. I guess I'll wait to see if the patch today helps.
Yeah, I know...its a shame, too. I'm retired (army...and I'm not that old :) ) but I've been going back to college and working on a business with an old friend. Today is one of the few days this week where I have some free time to do this stuff. I had hoped to at least figure out how to do the beam out an object stuff this…
I'll double check that, thanks. I wish the error message would give a bit more detail, but hey, whatever. I had wanted to publish the mission so I could run one of my real characters through it to check on the animations. (they seem to be wonky in preview mode).
If Star Fleet's enemies actually exploited the obvious weaknesses in their defenses the Federation would be toast. At least in the TNG era. Kirk's time, not so much. They may have used phasers first, but at least they wouldn't ponder about destroying the borg when given the chance. It would make more sense to just give…
The first two seasons of TNG were awful. The problem with utopia is that it makes boring entertainment. Thats what Star Trek is, entertainment. Its not something that is going to change the world as we know it, its not the blueprint for a birght shiny future, its entertainment. Genes idea for utopia sounds good on…
I support that. I was only commenting on another poster's message concerning "free". That's not a bad way to put things. My problem was the idea that no one works for money and all of the lofty stuff they say about it. They way you describe it people work for currency, which without going into the dictionary description of…
I'm fifty years old, retired from military service. I've met a lot of people from all over the world. No one I've ever met that has worked as a waiter or waitress (which includes my wife) has ever said they enjoyed it. But hey, maybe the elder Sisko actually met a handful of people that did, which is just as unbelievable…
