For years I've played w/KDF Sci and/or Rom KDF Sci toons. There really has been only one KDF Pseudo "Sci Ship" to fit the hit & run KDF playstyle, B'rel. The universal slots allowed for flexible in match builds, but was squishy so had to hit and fade out with it in most decent fights. This was the most fun ship to use and…
Yeah I haven't played since November and only logged on 1x to briefly look around. Been doing DOTA2 of all things for PvP, relax swtor pve. I've seen some pvp on that, so maybe I'll check it out. Queued for the space PvP, but it never popped. Anyways always enjoyed the old fights hope you're enjoying those other games.…
Here's where the $ has gone. A fair amount of PvP centric games. Including #1 if my eyes don't deceive me. http://rpgparadise.com/2014/10/top-10-mmos-by-worldwide-revenue-for-2014/ Below is F2P form the year before. (Side note notice how SWTOR a PvE oriented game w/like Brand recognition had more $ investment on the front…
1st time was when Nova came, all pretext of no pay for power went out the window when the Dev admitted it in an old interview. At least when there was a pretext to make C-store ships "balanced" obvious issues could easily pointed out and addressed. Edit: Forgot to mention this was in the middle of a major content drought…
This title reminds me of someone else, too bad the Rommies couldn't even bring him back and his pseudo Psy-Ops. I wonder what he's thinking about EvE's piloting changes. Ah well ... I digress.
Let me share some years of experience w/you. 1. The only time they'll "fix" an out of balance issue they sell is when it stops selling. 2. Then they'll do a "balance" pass. 3. Last, introduce a like lolz mechanism of that which was "fixed". (There's another series of "breaking" and "fixing" for the unintentional stuff…
Can't agree w/the no instances part. It's just EvE does a good job w/masking them. Each system is basically it's own instance (jump gates et al mask this). Deadspace encounters are basically their own instance too (ever try to fly into a deadspace encounter w/o warping to it? Can't be done, the warp is the masking of the…
That's been a cop out imo. Let's start when F2P started. There was an influx of C-store +1 ships and Unique consoles and introduction of set grinding, and doff collecting. This introduced time gated grinding, and jacked up the pay for power which had actually been introduced earlier. Against like skilled players doffs and…
It's only been a matter of degree w/the latest patch and I'm not convinced that degree is any different than Rommy rollout to pre Rommy rollout and that was Fleet Gear to Pre Fleet Gear other than the time gated nature of things like specialization. Though arguably that time gated lag has gone up the same rate, the…
I didn't trash his apology, I trashed the company's selective enforcement of exploiting. It wasn't just "garbage 2 years ago" it was in affect an ongoing policy position never contradicted for over 2 years to not enforce players exploiting Dev coding errors. It is absolutely germane to ask now why is this Dev coding bug…
I'm the customer I'm giving negative feedback on a part of their service which I don't like. If you don't like the feedback feel free to ignore it or offer cogent counter argument. I'm not discussing his "information" it's the b.s. rationalization to selectively enforce their ToS on exploiting I took issue with. I made…
Just as an fyi, I've seen where storyline missions I haven't run yet on a toon give ~3k rewards, but only 900 on a re-run. Not sure if it's been like that awhile or not, since it's been years since I cared (if ever).
And "This whole argument, and several prior, seem to stem from a difference of opinion on the definition of the term "exploit." And, it appears that I have a different definition than most. Perhaps we can put this whole semantic debate behind us, if I offer some clarification. In my opinion, as a Dev, somebody that is…
I've brought this up before, but to be clear from the same link I had in an earlier post: "Each time the Captains Skill Point bar is filled, one Specialization Point will be added to the character, which can then be spent in any of their various Specializations. Although you will no longer be able to spend Skill Points in…
The thing is it will NOT stop at 60 though. "As mentioned earlier, we look forward to putting out additional Specializations alongside future updates. Our hope with this system is to revitalize the high-end content of the game by introducing new progression options for all players that can continue to feel rewarding long…
"You will need to get all these little bonuses, which will also help in every other bit of STO you do" I took the above portion to be dismissive as of the powers' impact. Seriously, that stuff is significant. Imo, the movement bonuses/abilities alone would decide most escort fights, ala Bug ships. Regarding new players and…
As others have pointed out it's time gated powercreep w/no end to it in site. They aren't that insignificant either, anti-movement debuffs would allow for higher defenses even if just slowed and not at a full stop, resists when shield facing drops, regen rate boosts when shield facing drops aren't small when considering…
Among others, Gorn was an old KDF SOB pilot and would often pull KDF pugs together for matches when KDF #s were really low. I'd lost touch after the mass exodus from KDF SOB, but he's good people who didn't take the game too seriously and was fun to fly with.
Regarding rule Input: 1. May want to clarify MKXI storyline items more: a. Should multi-proc weapons be allowed? b. Some partial set items are base (Reman shield), but others have unique stats. ie, limit storyline options to non-unique abilities, or allow some unique abilities (pengs)? 2. KDF efficient boffs (don't know…
Initially it was only MX, then in the context of consoles MK XI blue were allowed. I don't know anyone's said anything regarding MK XI blue weapons. There are a couple of creep issues w/some MK XI blue weapons/shields/engines: 1. Higher Damage base stats than MK X 2. Some storylines have multiple proc capabilities (eg…
You're too kind, I did terrible lol. But, it was fun to put cannons on a B'rel again. Just need to rethink boffs, get used power mgt again, and maybe respec captain skills after playing around w/different builds which is something I haven't done in over a year b/c of grind creep etc (and also fun in itself).
C-Store ships have had stat boosts over the years including speed/agility, shield, hull hp mods that other ships didn't get. Edit: B'rel is my favorite ship, but I'll admit it got boosted relative to non-c-store ships. Mirror ships should provide the boff layout variety people maybe looking for. That said this could be an…
May want to watch that, they've been boosted over the years, eg Defiant & B'rel come to mind. I'm not aware of any boosts to mirror ships. Regarding Nausicans, keep in mind human boffs can be stacked to greatly reduce the impact of CC abilities. Perhaps limit the amount of each if it's an issue. Boffs w/efficient traits…
I agree for base equipment, but there's some unique storyline gear out there which MXI would arguably be an issue. Also, allowing for up to MKXI blues would be cheaper as far as exchange purchases in addition to storyline runs. Regarding the ship tiers keep in mind that there's boosts to ships' effectiveness as they go up…
Mirror H'anom is a solid ship w/its Boff Layout, Rommy Escapes, and BattleCloak. Epte1 makes it doable to keep up enough to apply disables. The issue is more that the regular and Fleet versions are weaker w/only 1 Lt Engineer, since the Mirror ship has no upgrades coming. Also, the BC & Boffs basically is a wash w/the…
Fyi, the C-Store ships have an extra boff slot and stats. At low levels the difference could be between Commander, Ltx2, Ens and Commander, Lt Com, Lt, and Ens as an example. Can't remember if they get extra console slots. Edit: Can re-read the great Nova debates from ~3 years ago for lolz on the matter.
W/Proc doffs it's possible to have them both up at the same time, though not reliably. It's possible to do something like GW3, w/TB3 (last 17 seconds), TR1 (the TB3 spans both in this scenarios), VM1 w/lucky proc & TSSE from Sci Ship, then TB1 (3 second delay between TB3 & TB1). GW1 can proc while the TB1 and TB1 are up.…
