Don't do it. Only you can prevent PvP fires. If you're tempted to use it, don't. Say no to it. Find a way to do your work so that your opponent can try to counter it, you'll have his respect.
No one forces you to pick uncounterable TRIBBLE. Instead of Ionic/EMP/Viral "bs" torpedo, spec in Subspace Decompiler and use Shockwave/Viral Matrix with aftershock doffs, Instead of Surgical, go for a beam overload with penetration doff. Instead of TS3 Neutronic, get the Protonic Arsenal set, biomolecular torp and go for HY3 murder

By using broken stuff because "it makes me win", you only show your sheer incompetence of playing without it.
I've used intel on a Faeht and Phantom for two months now and probably ruined someone else's PvP fun because of silly stuns in the process. At first it was fun (for me only); after I realised "wait. This is not the way to play fair", I've limited myself to using just Override on my T6s, no SS, no EMP, no Ionic, no Viral Impulse, just something that boasts power levels when I need it.
Now, get back to your Avengers, Scimitars, Dyson Destroyers, Wells, Vestas, Tempests, BoPs, Arkifs, Excelsiors, Odysseys, Recluses. They're taking a bit of dust.
OFC you're free to skip this thread and keep using whatever you want. As far as it goes for me, if you'll ever meet me in a dogfight, don't expect intel disables to bother you from my side.

I did indeed. I can evade them most of the times, but when they start to get spammed faster than the amount of disables I can deal with they get broken. Also considering most of the folks out there do not even know how to properly "counter" (is this the right word?) intel... the match writes itself. That's why I gave up on Intel myself, not going to perpetrate it.
This however isn't holding me from loading Chroniton DBB, Tachyokinetic and Temporal Torpedo on my Defiant.

like, whatever made pvp fun before DR? its gone, i mean is is just ****ing GONE man.
I remember you complaining about the spamming of aceton assimilators long time ago when I was not a pvper yet at all and maybe you were right.
I have heard that a lot of people complained about how broken aux2bat was when it came along.
It seems to me that history repeats itself and later on countermeasures will be found or introduced in game ;-)
If I remember well, ionic can be cleansed by the reckless abandon evasive maneuvers : put in the crystalline doff and you have a little cover.
As for the viral torp, that's nasty stuff, yes.

none of those things even rate as problems compared to what DR brought, annoyances or non problems all of them.
intel skills turning off your ability to react is the most powerful thing that can exist in the pvp system, and we went from basically 0 of them pre DR, to 3 after. that and the 2 most powerful placates ever, the second worst thing possible in the system, had pretty much 0 of those before DR too.
front loaded damage dealt in a small window has greatest effect, with mk14 weapons, OSS, SS, neutronic torp and, iso cannon, its never been easier to vape. the upgrade system also buffed particle madness considerably, another buff to that core game mechanic bypassing BS that ruins every match its a part of.
not to mention the cost of entry is at least a set of mk14 weapons and complete specialization trees. these new required grinds are TWICE the size of all other required grinds combined, that were needed to be pvp ready in previous seasons.
these things clean skill out of the system and replace it with RNG, P2W, and grind 1000 hours to win. there were things that damaged pvp in the past, but they were NOTHING compared to all this.
No wonder - something did seem a little funny about the ship, even though I've never seen the episode.
The point is : asking players not to use those abilities in public arenas is like asking a tiger not to use his claws, speed and strength , which are OP and broken, but they are in-game, in the game of nature.
Unfortunately, those skills and traits and abilities are in-game, they are not exploits, cheats or macros.
As for specializations, I am pvping with half of the tree because I don't feel like grinding over 9000 Argalas before having fun ...
However, Voporak, before quitting, showed us the way when he created the vanilla PvP ... later, Rick created the T5u PvP channel ... so the way is organized matches with fixed rules.
I think that's the best place where to use vanilla or T5u ships and abilities.
Hell, we can even make a STB PvP match ! :cool:

It is possible to play t6 PvP without t6 ship, t6 stuff, OP starship traits, full spec trees, gold weapons and consoles. It just depends are you in PvP for fun or if you just can't stand to explode.
I removed neutronic from PvP builds when i saw what it did in few games. Gone back to pre-DR setup and i enjoy it much more.
Problem with that torp is that it penetrates shields on anything but full shields. Yellow shields and you're gone.
Iso cannon with high enough partigens=certain kill every minute. It can even fire from regular battlecloak.
In fact you can make a T'Varo or Faeht or even Scimi neutronic/ISO -partigen build with nothing but TS3 neutronic + ISO cannon from weapons and get kills. You don't even need to decloak. ever.
On t6 feds that can even be much more BS with fed starship traits.
Just to notice one more thing:
Before R&D you could only see 2-3 FBP/TBR ships.
Now every single sci is that. Just a few are Drainers.
Before BO 100% Crit buff, tacs were using all sort of stuff.
Now? yeah i don't even need to say it.
Shield pen, armor pen, 100% CRTH CRTDx4 ACC/DMG BO3 elachi 50% res bypass DBB on MKXIV Gold.
It reads like a random collection of acronyms. but it's a reality.
It's not even DR expansion what brought this, but R&D system, along with 700 partigen, 100% CrtH on BO and prtg abilities.
That is why gold SCI prtg consoles are more worth then lobi ships on exchange.
Give a collection of them to any random guy and you turn an bellow average player in very dangerous TBR/FBP/torp spammer.
Ionic and the stuff is not even a real issue anymore. You can easily shrug off ionic, but shield/armor bypass is your killer. You can have infinite defense and max resist and BO and TS will still hit you and kill you. You don't need a t6 ship for that.

Kinda sums up why I stopped using Intel myself. Problem is many now don't want to drop it because "bwaaa bwaaa I can't instawin without them! I have to disable you to win!" and TRIBBLE.
What you put on it is entire different story.
I myself use the same DHC/Bio-Grav-Elachi HY setup now like on my Ar'kif in s9.
I only started upgrading my weapons last week and now i have 4 VR MKXIV which includes my trusty biotorp.
Moment i stopped using Neutronic on Faeht in PvP was when we reached 5:2 score in 20 secs from first shot fired in Arena. Footage in my new yr special.
I had some crazy multi kills with FBP, HY, Bio Spread and Thalaron in s9, but neutronic TS3 is different. It is literally OP in PvP. When multiple people use it at same time there is no chance to survive.
It's potential damage every 15 secs is 10 times greater then any hull, resist and defense in the game.(actually it ignores defense value)
Single torp from Neutronic torp spread 3 almost matches my Biotorp HY3, and that is over 200k easily PvE, 100k+ PvP that i have done.
Neutronic goes to 100k in spread in PvP, and up to 170k in PvE what i have done and saw at least. And that is without torp consoles in both cases.
Neutronic HY on the other hand is just pathetic compared to spread.

Let me share some years of experience w/you.
1. The only time they'll "fix" an out of balance issue they sell is when it stops selling.
2. Then they'll do a "balance" pass.
3. Last, introduce a like lolz mechanism of that which was "fixed".
(There's another series of "breaking" and "fixing" for the unintentional stuff where they just don't know what they're doing, but I don't feel like dragging it out again.
The best thing is to walk away imo, I did it over a month ago after generally being on for years. Maybe I'll come back in a year and spend stipend, but it's pretty bad when you have a stipend and you still have zero desire to login.)
Back to the point of self regulating, that's really has been tried for years and leads to its own set of forum wars over what's allowed or not, what's balanced or not, what the politics of the day are, etc. That can be entertaining in itself, but it's never born any fruit in the past.
Look at what happened to the last iteration w/VPvP and the ways the latest season was designed to age out everything. Dig up old threadnaughts of people using abilities X, Y, & Z and all the rules vs no rules tournies.
They've gotten to the point where they're pushing out people who'd pay for power b/c of how they time gated everything. They pushed out most players who actually cared about balance long before then.
