Yup. Tried all that and the lag is still there. At this point, it is either the ISP or really Star Trek Online.

I started noticing some time back that the firing FX for the Elite Fleet Full Auto Disruptors are missing. Anybody else noticed this?

I did not raise a ticket with Support. I think I shall do that. Hope they do not come back and tell me "Oh...its Akamai's fault! There is nothing I can do about it! Sorry!"

UPDATE: Update in the launcher is completed. Logged in and still cannot play the game.

Okay. Correction. I am seeing some packet loss in the traceroute. I have been downloading the patch in the launcher for the whole morning and it is only at 59%.

Yup. I just tried after reading your message and I can update abeit at a extremely slow rate for a 50MB update. Also did a traceroute and at least there are no lost packets. However, the ping is horrible at 300ms at akamai and patchserver.crypticstudios.com

Sigh...yeah. It may be time to try the reinstallation method and pray that it works. Will give it a try and let you know if it works.

Thanks. I tried your method but now its getting from bad to worse. Now the launcher itself is unable to connect and gives me this message: "Failed to talk to Cryptic servers for initial connection. Please try again." I doubt it has anything to do with renewing the IP address. I even tried restarting the router. No luck.

Same. I have tried it and can confirm that the progress bar does not move even with more than 1 team in the control zone.

Yup. That one. I am getting disconnected every few minutes of that TFO. As it stands, it is unplayable at the moment. Will give STO a break and come back later tonight after work. Hopefully the situation will improve.

Managed to login and play the TFO. It was laggy as hell. Got booted out of the TFO 3 times and died to lag multiple times.

Can't login. And when I do login, it kicks me out after a few minutes.

I did. And I just found out this bug was reported MONTHS ago and Cryptic has yet to fix it.

Hope so too. Imagine spending so much time and effort and resources to craft that thing and then you find out it does not completely work as advertised.

Nope. I even checked the pop up tooltip for Gravity Well and Tractor Beam. It isbvery obvious that the Overcharge ability is not triggered by Gravity Well but Tractor Beam does.

Exactly! I always assumed Gravity Well is a Control ability but yet it is not triggering Overcharge. However, Tractor Beam is. Is this a bug?

Kind of like where this is going. Using Omega against them. But how is the Alliance going to use Omega as a weapon without disrupting warp travel? Iconians don't use warp travel. The Alliance does.

UPDATE: If you have another character in STO, then change to that character first. .Then change back to the character that is stuck. Works for me every time now. Its just so irritating that this bug even exists.
