  • If this is what's happening, then one way to avoid it would be to switch to the lowest population server you can when the 1 minute to race starting timer pops. The game seems to like to put people in almost full zones by default, so anyone using a method like that would end up in a fuller zone than you - unless there's…
  • Of all the times in the game when we've *wanted* to open up a trap door under a Ferengi...
  • That's pretty much how the summer/winter event ship projects have always worked, yeah. Don't miss too many days unless you don't mind making up the balance with Lobi - that's the other way to get the vouchers, spend Lobi on 'em.
  • It also scales based on the number of players in the area. What with the Kobali prime missions now actually rewarding useful things, there might be other players nearby in the previous area, or getting ready to go out (or further away on the map, who really knows how close someone needs to be to 'count'). So you might…
  • That's a problem that's not unique to Champions. I've run into it on other MMOs that have a listing fee. At a certain level, the cost of listing without being certain the item will sell (and the item being valuable enough to not want to throw it out there at lower than you think you can get) leads to things 'worth' more…
  • Actually that's not entirely correct. The buyback store appears under the Event Reputation -> Store tab. However - and this is key - it only shows up if you have Pearls in the character's inventory or bank. On characters of mine that owned pearls, I was able to access it and cash them in there while they remained in the…
  • The current skill point boosts function as if they were designed by someone who doesn't care if they're useful, or even if they're used.
  • I'd gladly trade slower levelling pre-55 for faster levelling post-55. :P The only early levelling that felt like a slog was 1-10 on a Fed, since all the ships in that tier for Feds are kind of meh. Everything else at low level just seems like a blur. I feel lucky if I get an appropriate chance to use a ship's special…
  • I have to agree completely with this. In STO PuGs nobody talks. At most you'll get a "gg", sometimes someone will scream about teh noobehs if things didn't go right, rarely you'll get a thanks for healing or reviving someone, and very rarely you'll get a more detailed "here's what you did wrong" from someone if things…
  • I agree, this is one to be enjoyed, not complained about.
  • Well remember it took multiple days even to fill the "complete missions for the first time as a Delta recruit" meter all the way, and that was with apparently a majority of the population playing missions with relentless vigor, blazing towards 50 as if they were going to stop handing out levels tomorrow. Any one person…
  • I think probably everyone's hoping someone else does the replays. Unlike all the previous Delta Recruit week stuff, where you could progress the bar through normal play (or normal contributions, like the fleet credit earning that just passed) this requires deliberately going and doing something you wouldn't otherwise do.…
  • I would say KDF or Rom-KDF. You miss the slog of the Fed-side Cardassian arc. It's pretty much just bat'leths to the head all the way through.
  • They're that expensive because Orbital Chasing Beam is just that awesome. ...well, to be fair, I'm not sure it's 25 million EC worth of awesome, but it's really entertaining to use. I have it on all Engineer characters and regret nothing.
  • I'd be shocked if they didn't eventually add this to the crafting system. It's an obvious choice for another crafting category. I'm pretty sure I read something to that effect in one of those dev interviews, too. But that doesn't help get kits in people's hands right now, of course.
  • The Tribble patch today adds the ability to straight up buy "elite marks" for 100 normal rep marks each. So, that's something anyway.
  • The Iconian minds are entangled with chroniton states - it helped them optimize the grinding necessary to build their empire. I'll spare you the boring details. This entanglement allows them to grind with exceptional efficiency, but it comes with a price. The Iconian mind cannot handle partying the way you or I can. Merely…
  • If you open up your Timey Wimey Device-- errrm, temporal commlink, you'll see at the bottom a list of all the missions that have iconian information to find. They're in the order that you run into them. Also, if you keep the mission objectives window open, you will see an optional objective for finding the iconian data…
  • I've noticed disappearing DOff missions too. It's very noticable because I have 3 characters that I reset the two Dilithium Mine Doff missions on every evening. At first I thought I was just being an idiot and getting distracted before setting the missions up properly, but now there's no doubt about it: missions definitely…
  • Yeah, if you've already paid money for a ship (and if you have a Lockbox ship, someone injected real money into the system for that ship at some point) that should be all the unlock criteria you need. It shouldn't be required to cycle research projects for months or pay even more just to be able to bring something you've…
  • I hope that the lesson that they take from this is "don't try to add unlock grind requirements to the new stuff you add to the event stores".
  • The Undine are off sorting out their political issues (which, from what happened to Cooperdine, probably involves eating the other faction, which must make the debates far more interesting than ours). The Voth, however - I think that's going to be a plot point for future missions. The Voth weren't shy about honoring their…
  • It's interesting to see a bit of the design process here. The reskin on the winter lodge turned out pretty neat, and the Snorg Attack is a lot of fun - I wouldn't mind seeing more events along those lines - though now that everyone has winter weapons we almost need a Snorg Attack Advanced... or even Elite...
  • They changed the participation metric at capture points, it seems to address the 'tagging' of points, but created a bug where you'd occasionally get no credit for completion on a capture point regardless of what you do. There's a partial fix going in for the bug tomorrow, apparently.
  • Yay! Thanks for staying on top of it.
  • *sigh* The busted participation metric at capture points is obviously a bug. It's not helpful to confuse deliberate design choices with actual errors, and doing so makes it more likely that those errors will not be addressed.
  • The look of the redone winter wonderland map has grown on me the more I'm there. It's definitely a case of the teaser screenshots not really doing it justice. I had my doubts, but now I for one welcome our translucent ice floor overlords.
  • Rubidium was between 60k and 120k ever since Delta Rising's release... I gather it may have been even higher before that. 40k is quite reasonable in comparison. Supply and demand and all that.
  • That's crazy that it doesn't credit the whole team when they're all physically present. I mean, what, does it think the rest of you hiked out to west nowhere to stand around watching one guy shoot? To a degree I had to laugh about it when I was testing things after the patch, considering I've inflicted more of my share of…
  • That's not new. You always had to get credit for capturing at least 5 points to get the full reward. Capturing 0-4 points has no effect on the end reward. That's what makes the failure to get credit for fighting at points such a pain. If you're short of five, it's the same reward as if you'd afk'd waiting for the V-Rexes.…
