Level 50+ Needs DOUBLE XP PvE Queues Every Even Hour!

doubleohninedoubleohnine Member Posts: 818 Arc User
Cryptic, you need to start getting back to being ALT FRIENDLY real soon.

So if you're going to keep the XP earning levels as is, then cut the 50+ characters A BREAK!

The only reason I queue up for Borg Red Alerts is because of "bonus xp". But how much is it really, like 1.1 bonus or something? It doesnt feel like a lot.

You guys want all your old and new PvE queues to get played? Help us while you help yourselves. Every even numbered hour 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12 around the clock (On Pacific Time if you want), a DOUBLE XP queue set on Normal opens up for 50+ characters. And rotate the queue types, so at 2, 6, and 10 its a Space queue, and 4, 8, and 12 its a ground queue. Heck I dont care if Breaking the Planet is on the ground list, if it has Double XP at least it will fill fast and be playable.

The game is so stingy with XP after 50, you really need to double it (and maybe double current XP still isnt worth what we used to get, but it will feel a hell of a lot better than grinding DQ patrols alone or Kobali Prime ground (where its harder to find a pack of players to roll with and make that zone feel fun). This needs to feel like a MULTIPLAYER game again! Doubling XP for players that have already invested a lot of time(and probably money on ships already) on each character at 50 is fair, and will bring us together to play even the oldest content. Dont stop making new PvE content of course, and Breaking the Planet and others could likely use a polish pass or something to freshen them up, but if you want players to enjoy your work, provide the proper incentive. And right now, feeding the XP starving alts will bring players out of the woodwork to play anything you slap a double on it.

And since my requests for new Starship design forum contests have gone unanswered, what about NEW PvE queue contests, where we submit ideas for new queues and the winning idea, per forum vote, gets made. Its never a bad idea to LISTEN to your customers, instead of making stuff you all assume we'll like.

If my alts, and Ive only got 6 besides my main, dont start getting fed soon, they're going to start appearing on those "For just pennies a day" third world child adoption commercials, they're THAT hungry on my casual playing schedule. :(

Didn't the devs add skill boosts into the game for the sole purpose of allowing players to gain extra XP?

And so on and so on .

... I ain't trolling ... , just repeating the sum of Al's answer to Priority 1's suggestion that they get back some version of the rotating calendar back into the game . But hey , nobody suggested that they re-instate a rotating events calendar that you'd have to pay enormous sums of Dil to access / use, so why not give that insanity a go ? If you throw in the need for a whole new convoluted system , they might bite ...

The current skill point boosts function as if they were designed by someone who doesn't care if they're useful, or even if they're used.

They are kinda like the button to push at crosswalks, they don't actually do anything but they make you feel like you made the light change faster.

I’ve read the OP with a mixed attitude on topic.

For me the right term would be “alt beneficial”. Sure the demand chain to get our alts where you want them to be is a lot harder than b4 DR but still the benefits massively outweigh the effort, at least for me.

Rule of the thumb, monitor your average gaming time/efficiency in correlation of the Dil refining limit of a char and adapt your deck of toons accordingly.

It will pay out even under current conditions; I say so with 9 endgame alts.

Was fun to spend a week in Paris on vocation and just logging in briefly each day to refine 72.000 Dil. I guess I don’t need to play my Delta Recruit till middle of July or so. Just quick doffing, you know… for the spec tree.

Those saying we dont need some leveling help, you are the committed Players with no lives. Cryptic has shown they dont give an Eff about the committed players. They want to burn through the casuals as fast as they can. But it doesnt make sense to burn them out after leveling up 1 toon to 50, and making them never want to come back once they are slowed down level 50-60. Why not encourage them to create a few more alts before they tire of the game?

I get a spec point just playing for a couple hours on the weekend. I got 50-60 just doing the Delta storyline and the odd Fleet Alert.

Your chances of being taken seriously just went from none to no way in hell when you had the smart idea of using the word "need"

    You a dev?

You a chairman of the board?

    You the owner of Cryptic?

You the president of the USA?

If the answer to all of these 4 questions is a big, resounding, huge NO Cryptic doesnt need to do what you tell them.

Half or more of the mmo player base are well how can i put this without getting an infraction...hmm morons? yeah ill stick with that.

They dont know what they want but they sure whinne, dine and have cheese for it...lo and behold if they get it because only then they will realise they didnt want it to begin with.

    2 things;

    1) your response is quite utterly and totally pathetic thats not intended as an insult it just simply is and..you don't need to be any of those to tell them they need to do something. he can tell them they need to do this that or the other all they want, whether they do it or not is up to them not you and this is incredibly hilarious coming from the same person who was telling someone in another recent thread to chill out when they reacted poorly to "your" opinion. Take your own advice.

    2) I love how you call all those people morons when you respond in such a moronic manner yourself, a vast majority of specific people on this forum tend to be more moronic than they accuse others of being. Why? because whenever someone has something constructive to say they're dubbed as "whiners" okay sure the way the OP worded what he said wasn't the best choice but you are mistaking passionate arguments for whiney child-like arguments. many people who make the arguments that they do put a little of themselves into what they say...venting their frustration unintentionally thus resulting in this thread ive seen you do it plenty of times.

so give him a break and look in the mirror. you're a grade A hypocrite sir.

    lol, my delta rom/kdf needs 30 points intel and 8 points pilot = 38 points 158.000 a point is 6.004.000 points (let's say 6.000.000)
    20% boost of 10.000 = 975 zen.
    20% of 6.000.000 = 1.200.000
    so i need 120 boosts = 117.000 zen for 1 toon (30 intel, 15 pilot)
    1 zen = 252 dil. 117.000 = 29.484.000 dilitium (3.686 day's for refining !!)

Another I don't like something, so change it for my sake thread. Also calling people committed players with no lives no very likely to make them take you seriously at all, even if they agree with your points. Funny thing is earlier in the week there was a thread complaining about the exact opposite thing you are complaining about.

It's not just for his sake. I know of several people that are having a hard time leveling, including myself, past the 50+ content.

It would be one thing if it was as slow as it was, but they had more story/episode missions...but they don't. It's like it was designed to level to 55 and they added 5 more levels onto it.

Honestly, the elitist attitude of some of you guys is insane. Those of you with 10+ alts...I envy your skill and wish I knew your secrets, because at this point, I'll be happy if I get my main to 60 before an expansion.

Now tell me this, what is your big bonus when you get to 60? You are simply going to be 60 and slowly grinding out more Spec Points. Post 60 you will be doing the same things you did to get from 50 to 60. There is no big reward for getting to 60. There is no level 60 ship you can buy. It is just a number. So you might as well just try and enjoy the journey because the destination is just an empty road.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
